Before the haircut, my hair was uniformly about 4 inches in length. I wanted a style that retained the curls but made my hair more manageable. I went to the salon with a coarse idea of what I wanted: Curls on top, shorter on the side, and nothing too hip. I showed Faye a picture that had these style elements and gave her the freedom to use her creativity, because you can't force hair to do something it's not meant to do. Faye evaluated my hair type, recommended subtle changes to the style and went to work. She was patient and extremely adept in her hair-cutting process. A great sign was that she didn't need to re-evaluate my hair as she cut: she had a vision and accomplished it without hesitation. When her work was complete, the style was exactly what I hoped for. Extra details: There is plenty of parking in the parking lot in front of the salon. The salon is very accessible by the road. I drove down Saviors and turned right on Birch. Once on Birch you can patiently drive through the parking lot on the corner (Birch & Saviors) without battling the drag-racers on Saviors. The salon has a very relaxing atmosphere, is well-decorated, and has good music.

Kia is a Vivid Hair Specialist who has transformed my hair from its natural brown to teal, then pink with extensions, and now purple with a silver money piece! She's super sweet, and she's always been very realistic with me about what kind of maintenance certain colors or cuts need.
