The service was on point and the food was delicious and plentiful. They bring out hush puppies and cinnamon rolls when you are seated. We got a salad and fish soup with the meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat by the window and could see the turtles in the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was bright and decorated in sea shore decorations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You won't leave hungry.

You have to try this place! We got there about 20minutes early. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While waiting in the parking lot we were surprised at how many cars were coming in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As we were standing in line a few minutes before they open a Bus pulled in full of people. Not a problem at all. Within 15 minutes we were all seated and drinks and Cinnamon Rolls & Hushpuppies basket was brought. Which was great. Very organized! We both ordered off the Senior menu of Fan-tailed Shrimp dinner. It was delicious! Served with a small cup of Fish stew soup, Salad, 10 Shrimp and a side. I will definitely make it back here. Thanks to our wonderful Server Brooke.

We arrived in MBSC after a 12 hour drive and we wanted some of the traditional food we love in this area. This restaurant was close to where we were staying. We have been there many times and love the atmosphere and as usual the service was great. We were there later in the evening on a Saturday in the off season and we were seated immediately. The service was quick and friendly we had two servers watching our drinks and taking orders. The bread service here is great with sweet corn dodgers (hush puppies) and cinnamon rolls. We had the house salads and they were fresh and my blue cheese dressing was wonderful. I had the shrimp platter, soooo much food! I live in a land locked state and can pay $30 bucks for 10 shrimp so I was amazed and could not finish my plate. The shrimp were hot and sweet, just a bit chewy, but still very good. The baked potato was fluffy and tasty I love the unlimited butter and sour cream on the table. The hubby had the fried seafood platter. He liked everything on the plate, I had a bite of his deviled crab and it was outstanding. This is place has a great laid back atmosphere. Pro Tip - I had the cinnamon rolls for breakfast the next morning - 20 seconds in the microwave and they are delightful.

Nick is an absolute legend!…read more We came to Portofino not knowing what to expect, and we left completely blown away -- and honestly, a huge part of that was our waiter, Nick. This guy is on another level. From the moment we sat down, Nick's energy, knowledge, and genuine passion for hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. He wasn't just taking our order -- he was curating an experience. Now let's talk about the Cacio e Pepe -- insanely good doesn't even begin to cover it. It was perfectly executed: silky, bold, with just the right bite of pepper. Classic done right. But you know what made it taste even better? Nick. He recommended it with such confidence and enthusiasm that we had to order it, and he absolutely delivered. Nick was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and just an all-around fantastic human being. He made us feel like VIP guests from start to finish -- checking in at exactly the right moments, offering spot-on suggestions, and keeping the whole experience flowing effortlessly. If you go to Portofino, you absolutely should ask for Nick by name. He is the kind of server that reminds you why going out to dinner is supposed to be a special occasion. We will 100% be back, and Nick is a big reason why. Portofino, you have a gem on your staff. Treat him well!

We looked at the reviews first on Yelp, and they were pretty mixed, but we hoped for the best. On arrival we were greeted at the door and were seated promptly. We arrived at around 4:30 pm, and the place wasn't that full, but everything smelled pretty good. Too bad good smells doesn't equate to good food... Most of the food we ate wasn't very good. The sausage I tried was mealy, and couldn't get past the first bite. The fried shrimp were popcorn sized, and soggy? I didn't even try the snow crab because they looked very small, and were swimming in an unknown liquid. The "ribeye" steak was cut razor thin, and was cooked well beyond well done. At least the prime rib was medium rare, but didn't have much flavor. The best things I ate consisted of the pretty good gumbo, crispy Brussel sprouts, and fresh cucumbers. The bbq ribs weren't too bad either. The wife and daughter had the same opinion of the food. I'll mark this experience as a skip if you are in the North Myrtle Beach area. Especially when two adult meals and a child priced meal (with three drinks) comes to a total of $160.00 with tip. Yikes.
