    Cajun Grouper Bites
    Timothy G.

Came down to Myrtle Beach for a little vacation the family and definitely wanted to check out Rockefellers:. What I liked: Polite, southern hospitality All our food was awesome... loved the Cajun grouper bites! Decent selection of cocktails, and beer. Comfortable local bar atmosphere. This would be one of my favorite local spots if I live down here. Affordable prices. So give Rockefellers a try and Enjoy!

Absolutely love the food we come here all the time. We are local owners of condos so we know the area. Every time we come down this is our first stop. Service is always amazing. THE BEST STAFF!!! So please invest in fixing the place up. The chairs are damaged with the stuffing coming out. The bathroom is pee rotting. Puffed up cabinets from pee all over them. Just give it a good cleaning and replace a couple things and it will be a 5 star. Btw. Best she crab soup of anyplace I have ever been hands down!

Great seafood and land food. Fun and friendly with excellent service! We loved the "Chumbo" - chowder/gumbo combo

It's taken us a long time to visit Rockefellers and I'm so thankful that we did! Rockefellers is located right off of highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach and has its own parking lot. It looks small and cozy from the outside and feels like a local beach bar on the inside. I really like the boat seats as their bar stools! Rockefellers has been in business for the past 20+ years and once you experience it, you'll know why. The service is excellent, the oysters are fresh, and the beer is cold. I highly recommend stopping by for happy hour for some good prices on beer and seafood. Try to stop in earlier than the typical dinner rush because it does get busy but the staff will take care of you!

    Seafood boil

Fun vibe - very local heavy (which means it's good;). First time having a seafood boil and loved the experience. Our server was helpful in explaining the tools needed for the boil - lol. Fun ambience/ vibe!

The raw oysters were the best thing I tried, sadly the scallops were overcooked and the oysters Rockefeller had SO much spinach they were drowned in sogginess. The bartender was very friendly and this seems like a local hangout, especially for happy hour. If you go here, stick with the raw oysters

Nothing bad to say about the service or the cesar salad, but I regretted ordering the shrimp scampi (image taken after i stirred it, the plating was nice when i got it). Not much of any flavor, the sauce was abit watery and there was a small amount of cheese that accumulated in chunks haha all it needs is a thicker sauce and more minced garlic if it wasn't in there already. The interior is cute though, overall not a bad dining experience

I haven't written a review a long time. This place deserves my full attention as I write this. I love local spots and cool people, sometimes the parking isn't so good or the seating. The wait was 30 mins and we decided to hit the bar. That was the best decision. We witness one of the most talented bartender in Mike. Let me explain, he took orders, made drinks, made food (steamed pots,, pasta, etc)), took checks, and in his spare time made small talk. The food was great, the service was great. The only complaint I have is that I got SUPER FULL!!! I told Mike that he looks fluid doing his job. He said, "This is nothing!!", Great response. If you're in the area please stop by and show Mike and staff some love and this review!! We had a blast, oh yeah... the atmosphere and the drinks were great too!! Please support this place, I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Love this local restaurant. The happy hour specials are terrific. Try the Cumbo it's my favorite. I have to get some ever time I'm in town.

There was also live music playing, which really brought the place to life and made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. For food, we ordered the shrimp meal and the gumbo soup. The gumbo was delicious and packed with meat, very hearty and flavorful. My only complaint is that I asked for less meat due to an upset stomach, but they weren't able to accommodate that, which I understand. The crackers served with the soup also tasted a bit old and off. The shrimp, however, was very tasty and enjoyable. We attempted to visit LuLus on Thursday, but they were closed due to A/C issues. We came back on Friday and were glad we did. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind from the moment we arrived. They also have a cute shop attached to the restaurant where I was able to get some Aloe Vera to help ease my sunburn, which was super convenient. Would highly recommend!

There was a sign outside saying they weren't going to be opening that day, or were opening late, or something to that effect. We were short on time, so we started looking around for somewhere else to eat at Barefoot Landing, pretty disappointed that we couldn't go to our favorite spot. That said, I saw there was a new place called Lulu's right around the corner. I checked out their menu, and it looked like a fun place to eat. The pictures of the food looked pretty good, so off we went. Upon arriving, the first thing that struck me was the big, open atmosphere of the establishment. It wasn't very cozy, but the hostess did greet us in a friendly manner and took us to our seats--which ended up being one of the worst aspects of this restaurant. I have never been more uncomfortable sitting in a restaurant in my life. I know that's a weird gripe, but these were some of the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in. They hurt so bad. My kids were seated on the benches across from us, and they could barely even reach the table. My wife switched places with my son, and the benches were covered in what looked like footprints and dirt from people standing on them. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We started off with drinks. We all got soft drinks, and every single one of them was flat. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, and they were OK. The dipping sauce was great. My wife and son ordered the tacos, which they said were bland, tasteless, and pretty underwhelming. My daughter ordered a kids' cheeseburger, took one bite, and said it was disgusting. Unfortunately for me, I ordered one of the most expensive things on the menu: a seafood entrée where you get to pick two items. I picked the fish and oysters, both fried. Some of the oysters tasted like they were kind of rotten--very fishy. The fish itself was OK, but the breading they used was absolutely atrocious. It tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in weeks. The fry on the fish was dark and had an almost burnt, overly salty taste to it. Absolutely terrible. As we were about to leave, a live band started playing, and they sounded pretty nice. I wish they had been playing while we were still eating, but by that point we were so ready to get out of there. We were incredibly disappointed. The real shocker came when I got the check. For our family of four, it was almost $110 before the tip. This food was in no way worth that kind of price. I honestly would've rather gone to a fast-food restaurant. This place gets two stars simply because the staff we encountered were friendly and because of the live music. Otherwise, this is one of the most boring, aesthetically unappealing restaurants I've ever been in, with some of the worst overpriced food I've ever had. Never again. We definitely won't be back.

The outside is great for families or for a date night. They have a section where they have an outside bar so you can be by the water. They also have a small stage that I'm sure they have music outside. So we started off with drinks and some appetizers. We had the calamari, street corn dip and the margarita. We had the steak with a side order of shrimp, had the Big chill burger with an extra side the Hawaiian pasta salad and the Big Chill Island salad with chicken. Service was good. The apps were tasty and if you like spicy hot it was good. The steak and shrimp was good and flavorful, the burger was good but not the pasta salad. It was not good, that even my daughter didn't like it. As for my Big Chill Island salad was also a disappointment. Not sure what it was but the flavors just didn't go well together. I always like to give places a second try so we might come back and I will try another dish.
