I have been having soot on my siding for the last few years from the gas fireplace Falco's…read moreinstalled for me. I took pictures a couple years ago and sent them to the service manager. He told me that was the way it was suppose to be. I have cleaned the siding myself or hired someone to power wash it for me. I I have it serviced by Falco's. I did the Preventive maintenance Oct. 23, 2024, just like I have in the past. After the Preventive Maintenance this year the soot was the worst I have eve seen . This year I took pictures and sent them to "Frost Fire Service" and asked if that was normal. He replied immediately and and said absolutely not. I made an appointment for him to come to my home. In fact I showed those pictures to my 101 year old dad and he took one look at it and said "Incomplete combustion". The owner of Frost Fire Service said, "your dad is right." He took my fireplace apart and showed me several things they missed or were doing wrong in their Preventive maintenance. Among other things: This is from Frost Fire's Annual Service and Cleaning: REPAIRED ELECTRODE SPARK CABLE END GASKET ON BOTTOM OF BURNER AT VENTURI TUBE, ADJUSTED MANIFOLD PRESURE AS IT WAS TO HIGH AT 4.9-IN WATER COLUMN, AND PROPERLY POSITIONED He also noted Because they did not use "BEST BUILDING PRACTICES WOULD HAVE HAD THIS TERMINAL CAP INSTALLED 24-IN BELOW THE VINYL SOFFIT INSTEAD OF 18-IN ESPECIALLY SEEING HOW THE NEAREST VENTILATION SOURCE IS 28-IN FROM CENTER OF CAP. He also suggested' "A VINYL SIDING STANDOFF ON THE EXHAUST TERMINAL SHOULD BE CONSIDERED". since it wasn't installed properly to begin with. I once more took pictures and the invoice with everything explained to FALCO's. I just wanted them to remove the soot this year because it was so bad and the tech caused problem.. Without looking at all the pictures I had or even coming to my home to look at it the service manager said it wasn't their responsibility. He said I should have called sooner. I clean the siding every year so there was nothing to see until after the stove was started and it accumulated like it did every year. The only time I am out where the soot is it is when I put my AC cover on in the fall and take it off in the spring. I turn off the gas fireplace every spring and have them service and start it in the fall In fact right after the service was done by them I called thinking the flame was too high. They emphasized it was done properly and if the service man came back there would be another service charge. I cancelled the appointment I made to have him come back because their answer is always "that's the way it is suppose to be and it was done right." Didn't need another $200.00+ service call. I notice a lot of other people have the same reaction from Falco's. All I was asking from Falcos was for them to clean the soot mess their tech created. I didn't want anything else. . i just want them to send someone out to clean my siding and soffit. There was a silver ling to this mess. I found Ryan the owner of "Frost Fire Service" that cares about the customer and does a thorough job for Preventive maintenance. I watched him just as I have watched Falco's tech. They were in and out and checked boxes they did things they didn't. I was a loyal customer for over 30 years with Falco's. We loved their nursery and they installed a free standing gas fireplace for us before. We got parts from them "thermo something". The pictures show all the soot on the side of the house and soffit, the soot on the windows of the fireplace that accumulated in just 6 months. It shows debris that shouldn't be there. burn from gasket that needed replace that should have been noticed. How the logs were placed by Falco and how they should of been place to avoid covering up "air holes?"

I have no idea what type of business they are trying to run, I just know that I am left stuck with a hole in my den that I've had for the past few weeks already that I now have to start the process all over to find someone to install a fireplace. We are happy with the final product but it took 6+ months of dealing with faulty trim work and poor…read moreinstallation. Installers left a 5 foot section of pipe on our two story roof. Luckily we noticed it when an electrician came to do some work. That could have hurt someone or damaged our solar panels. First installer put broken decorative logs in the fireplace. He set them in there in a way to hide the broken ends. Noticed when I opened to rearrange. First installer scratched the trim piece. Second person attempted a quick fix with spray paint that didn't match. Ordered second trim kit that came scratched. Ordered third trim kit that came bent. 4th trim kit wasn't scratched and we installed ourselves. Customer service never called us back. We had to call to check to see if trim kit had arrived every time. The good news is the final product works well and we love how it looks.

Naturally, I called and asked for someone to come out to look at my chimney flashing. The owner, Scott, came out to look. Needless to say, I will no longer be recommending this company. Scott was RUDE and argumentative today. I mentioned that the flashing didn't look right, when I meant the tar or rubberized coating, or whatever was originally used by the original installers. I used the wrong vernacular, and he sternly corrected me. I wasn't saying anything negative about him or his company, but actually paid him several compliments on his other employees. Scott came down from my roof and then asked me about a permit when it was installed. I informed him that as far as I know it was pulled, as Country Homes Power told me that they did. Scott then decided to lecture me on how I would know. (I found the permit and receipt of permit with my city). It was an authoritative tone. I've spent enough time in the military to understand when I'm being "dressed down." Then I asked Scott about the repair, and he said he'd get back to me but they were busy. So I clarified by asking him if he was busy the rest of the year, or just now. He then said that his company would not be able to do anything for me this year. He NEVER told me WHY my flashing needs to be replaced. His crew had inspected everything just a few months ago this summer and said everything was just fine. I called Mr. Chimney to get his name and was informed that he was the owner. The girl on the phone got defensive and said "I'M SORRY THAT YOU FEEL THAT WAY" in a snotty tone. I was calm and cool as a cucumber on the phone with her, as you get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar. But that was the end of that conversation. It's awful to say, as I really used to like this company, but I asked them to disregard and I won't ever be utilizing them again. I think the their hot tubs were on sale, but the staff were pushy, wanted a $100 deposit while we thought about it, wanted to deliver on Monday and then they were off to the next city/state and said everything would be fine, don't worry about getting it there, it will fit, electrical is good (felt as though they would say anything to just make a sell). We went to Country Holmes Power (also had an weekend event and they are local) and we were met by Garth. Garth acknowledged and spoke to my wife and I, but also our sons, who were with us that Saturday. Garth was not pushy, showed us their inventory and explained different tubs and care systems (O-care). We left that Saturday with no purchase and no commitment, just Garth thanking me and my family for stopping by and if we had any questions to reach out. The next week I called to set up for a free home consultation/inspection for removal of old, delivery of new and ensure electrical was good. I met James who came out and inspected the back yard, measured between gates, measured between ground and eve clearance, talked about which way we wanted the new tub facing...just very thorough and detailed. There was some questions regarding electrical at first. I then started working with Nik (Garth was on vacation) and Nik stepped in, answered all my questions, looked into answers he didn't know and got back to me and gave me time to think and talk with my wife without pressure. We also worked with Brian regarding financing options, he gave a print out of options and possibility's. My wife and I decided on a hot tub and were ready to move forward. We had a delivery date scheduled but due to the Spokane Fires I had to put it on pause. They were more than patient and waited for me to call them once we were ready. James and Nik delivered our new hot tub, help get it set up the way we wanted, installed the lift/cover, explained maintenance care and answered every questions I had. I did not feel like they were in a hurry and ready to get to the next job, they care about their customer and making sure they are happy. I normally do not write reviews but I should more often as I appreciate the information I get when looking at a company or product. I give Country Homes Power, Garth, Nik, James and Brian all 5 stars. From start to finish they were not pushy, answered all my questions, and I really feel they put in a ton of effort to make sure I was happy and satisfied.
