WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE trying to reach out to your organization to get help for myself. I get…read moreto the facility & everything seemed to be too good to be true. Due to the gut feeling that people were being overly fake with me. I'm a genuine person.  I treat people the way I want tobe treated.  During intake process I was in great spirits joking around with staff. Trying to make friends usually comes easy if you can joke. I did absolutely 100% what Gateway staff required or requested me to do. When it came to them taking my blood pressure I forgot to take my pills before I came. I told them that info. They were also informed that I had blood pressure medication that had been put into an old bottle due to me having them in a pill container. I couldn't find the correct bottle so I grabbed an older bottle. They not only sent me to the hospital literally in scrubs that were swimming on my body and tried to make me go with no bra on which in my opinion is humiliation to say the least. I'm not a trashy individual. Im dressed when i go out my door at all times. I wear a bra every time I leave! That was uncalled for to attempt on humiliating me in public by not giving me proper clothes. Then they send me to hospital with no money, phone, or any way to get back to the facility. The counselor that dropped me off assured me that they were going to come back for me. Before I went to St. Elizabeth's the intake counselor at Gateway told me just don't give them blood and you will be in and out and right back.  Which the doctor at the hospital didn't ask for blood, & that was never requested of me whatsoever.  Then the charge nurse at St.Elizabeth's hospital went out of his way! Which he was by far the most AMAZING health care provider in this whole story, but unfortunately for me he worked for a reputable place.  He got my prescription for new blood pressure filled, got my blood pressure regulated, & most of all showed me compassion. He made me feel better at the lowest point when the HIPPOCRITICAL SO CALLED "STAFF" was on the phone with him stating I wasn't compliant. GATEWAY staff lied to him stating I wouldn't give blood at their facility. They were absolutely making false allegations! I was never asked by their facility to give blood. Nor was I asked by the hospital. The charge nurse on staff at St. ELIZABETH'S HOSPITAL told me out if his own mouth he believed I was patient,  compliant, & he honestly told me he was proud of me for making the right decision. Doing the right thing in life is hard. Making the steps I did was hard for any addict trying to better themselves. He said he believed everything i said due to how cool I had been with him, & other staff for the NINE HOURS Gateway had me sit St. Elizabeth's hospital.Mind you i hadnt eaten one drop of food this entire time due to Gateway taking all my possessions including money & ph.They kept telling the charge nurse I had not been compliant, & I was being medically discharged. They also informed him that I WAS TO FIND MY OWN RIDE BACK THERE TO COLLECT MY BELONGINGS. How in the world is a rehabilitation facility supposed to treat a person begging for help to get better SO DISRESPECTFULLY, & UNPROFESSIONAL? The "staff" STRANDING ME AT A HOSPITAL they promised they would pick me up from! Who does that to someone asking for help? That is absolutely CRUEL, DEMEANING, UNPROFESSIONAL,  & ABSOLUTELY UNCALLED FOR! I did nothing to deserve that type of grisly treatment from anyone at Gateway rehab in Caseyville IL. I wouldn't board a dog there knowing how they treat human beings. I am APPALLED, FURIOUS, DISAPPOINTED, & DISGUSTED that I was 100% compliant all the way around,& treated so UNIMAGINABLY REVOLTING. Gateway "staff" HAD NO REASON to treat me like that! I'm not a dog,  or worthless! The approach they take with people is more like prison staff than a rehabilitation center! The level of professionalism a rehab adheres to in the state of Illinois was not met by any standards. I'm positive it wouldn't have been met by a vetinarian. You people are NOT HELPING ANYONE LIKE THAT! Your behavior was atrocious! Your staff should be ashamed and take accountability for the ridiculous ordeal I endured. Presumably your neck and neck dealing with DCFS already, so I'm sure it's going to go in a similar pathway of gaslighting, ignoring the ignorant way i was dealt with, and disregard, and most of all disrespectful ways i was . So I will be contacting the Attorney Generals Office about this ordeal. Have a blessed day and take care. I'm sorry your irresponsible, narcissistic,  and  psycopathic staff deliberately put me through that humiliation and degradation for what reason I'm sure I'll never receive any rhyme or reason but to twist the shameful act back around on me is the only asinine response from your types I trust and believe in gaining from your opinions of what happened. Hope Karma gets back to you all very soon.

Before my appointment, I was sent a plethora of pages to fill out as requested and brought them the morning of my appointment. I, like many people, read the fine print. Upon entering, I had to have a photo taken to load internally to help prevent fraud, which I kindly declined. If you have a credit on your account of $5 or less they expect you to write it off. I wrote, "I want any amount refunded". I also had to submit a credit card to keep on file. "Who in their right mind gives anyone a blank check to charge at any time?". I put a line through that and initialed it. Christy handed me another copy of that page and told me I could not write anything in, that I just had to initial it. She was insistent I initial the Workman's Compensation Form. I declined. She said, "Everyone has to initial it". I'm 70 years old, tell me why. The last straw was when I had to give my SS#. Again I was told, everyone gives their SS#. Christy said it was very secure and I'm thinking, computers are hacked every day. I said "I will leave before giving that information", and Christy's response was "Well, it will probably come to that". I wonder how many people don't read the fine print and don't realize what freewill they give businesses. As someone who has been a victim of credit card fraud more than once and identity theft, there are some things that need protection. Dr. Bell may be a very nice man, I wouldn't know as I couldn't get past the office staff. I have never in my 70 years had to have a mug shot taken upon entering a physician's office. I got the feeling the office staff was more concerned about getting their money than caring for people. First impressions are lasting.
