I scheduled an appointment for emissions/inspection on Thursday 10/10, for the upcoming Monday, 10/14 at 3pm. I was told I may have to leave the car overnight, which I said was fine by me as I live close enough to walk. I arrived on time, and was turned away because "the inspector had an emergency" and was told to return at 2pm the following day. I already left work early one day, so I asked if 3pm would work and if need be, the car can stay overnight and was given the okay. I showed up today, Tuesday 10/15, at 3pm, and was turned away because "the inspector had an emergency" and told that I needed to come before 1pm if I want an inspection. I have missed work now twice to attempt to make this appointment work, needless to say I won't be trying again. I'm sure they do quality work, but to be this inconsiderate with a potential long-term customer's time is not a good sign for the future, and definitely made me reconsider making this spot my go-to. I missed out on getting paid to get turned away twice! read more

I was in and out here with a new muffler in 1 hour for $340! I've had bent tire rims in the past from potholes and they just bang them out for me for free. My check engine light went on and I didn't feel like bringing it to the dealer so I stopped by this repair shop without an apt. The men working immediately came over, took a look and deduced it was due to my gas gage being left open! It took all of two minutes and they didn't charge me and were very helpful. I had a great experience at Chestnut Hill Automotive! Being new to Chestnut Hill, I was weary of taking my car into a new place as I loved my old repair shop. I had to take my car in today because of brake calipers that wouldn't release. I called up Chestnut Hill Automotive and a friendly voice greeted me on the other end. He told me they could accept my car the same day. I brought my car in and Dave knew exactly what was wrong with the car. He gave a quick estimate up front and would call me before he did any work. Dave called me back a few minutes later giving me an estimate and would have my car ready in a few hours. He also let me know that I could save a lot of money by paying cash instead of credit card. I was pleasantly surprised that he would get the work done so quickly. I picked up my car and he showed me what was wrong with my old calipers. We also chatted for a few minutes about new car recommendations since he knew I was in the market for a new car. My car drives like a dream. Overall, I had a really great experience and I'm happy to have found a mechanic I can trust. read more

I called around 3:40PM because my windshield wiper was broken and I needed an oil change for my Volvo. Dave said to bring it right over. I was driving away with my oil change done and my windshield wiper working perfectly by 3:58PM (I looked at the clock). Took my car here this morning for the first time as I was only about a block away when my brakes suddenly locked up on me. Very scary. The owner, Dave, opened the hood, diagnosed the problem right away (a loose wire) and fixed it. He then looked over the engine and told me there were two other disconnected wires which he fixed. My "fix engine light" on the car (which had been on for 5 years... my former mechanic said he couldn't figure out the problem) finally went off and the car is running as smoothly as it did when the car was new. In addition to doing excellent work, Dave's fees are incredible I have found my new auto mechanic! read more

I had my car towed here on Labor Day. By 10am Tuesday, I had the issue diagnosed by the mechanic. He went so far as to see if it was a recall or extend warranty item. It was! He could have fixed it - charging me upwards of $1200 - but instead did the research and sent me to the dealership. The dealership is going to fix it for FREE. This mechanic is fast, reliable, honest and all-around great. I just wish I lived closer so I could use him all of the time! read more
