I have been to Vince's gulf several times and they consistently provide thorough and friendly service. I just picked my car up from an inspection and was very happy with their attention to detail; they replaced a missing lug nut on one of the tires, changed out a tail light, did an oil change in addition to replacing the catalytic converter (which I was previously told needed replacing by another mechanic as well). The bulk of the charge was for parts and the cost of labor was very modest and fair. My fiancé knows a lot about cars and assures me Vince always does a great job. Highly recommend! read more

Vince's Gulf is an amazing auto shop. They have helped me out many times. Recently, I accidentally drove over a tree branch and even though I pulled most of it out I kept hearing a rattling sound. Normally, I schedule an appointment but this time they were at least able to look at my car and make sure there was no tree branch in there/I was OK. They also said my car's body cover was loose and readjusted it (that's what was causing the rattling). They did all this super quickly PLUS Enzo the shop dog was there and I got to pet him while they were looking at my car. They honestly made my day and are awesome! I stopped by this morning because I had a slow leak in my tire. There was a nail in it. They took me right away, plugged the tire, reset the TPMS and sent me in my way in less than a half hour and charged me $20. That's excellent customer service especially considering I've never been there before. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Here is my first experience with Vince's Gulf: I took my car in to get an inspection. After a few minutes, I get a call back saying I need two front tires and an oil change and I would be looking at about $500. I also had a check engine light on that signaled a bad converter. I said $500 is a bit steep for two tires, an oil change, and to clear the code on a converter that they said "had no problems." I was told I would get an itemized receipt (which I was not given). Then they called again and said in order to clear the code, I could either drive it and see if it comes back on, buy a sensor for an additional $200, or replace the converter for an additional $800. I had problems with the light popping on in the past but after clearing the code, the light would go off as there is clearly nothing wrong. So after deciding I wasn't going to give them an additional $200-800 on a part that has nothing wrong with it, I asked the status of the inspection since the indicator was off. I drove it home and called back saying the light was still off, and his response was "that's not good enough, you need to drive it 40-50 miles." Says what procedure?! I took it to another shop the next day and they passed it right on the spot. They also said the two tires likely didn't need to be replaced as the other two were in phenomenal shape. So my first trip to Vince's Gulf landed me a $500 bill for two tires (that didn't need to be replaced), an oil change, and clearing the code for something that didn't need repair, with NO word on if I passed the inspection. I will NEVER be going back here and I advise anyone who is considering to look elsewhere. 0/5. read more

I haven't written a review in years, but I feel compelled to share how amazing this garage is with the world. I received a recommendation for Vince's by a coworker, and every time I come here I am so overwhelmed with their work that I always send her a thank you text. I have had several car repairs here over the past year or so, as I have a 2000 Camry that is beginning to require a little more TLC. In the past year I have needed new tires, a piece of my exhaust, a radiator, and brakes. When anything goes wrong with my car it elicits an intense stress response in me. Vince's always alleviates that feeling. They have always been very accommodating, offering to see me the same day or the next day. I always wait in the office bc I'm not able to drop off my car and come back, and they always make my car a priority because of this, even when they have other cars ahead of me. When I needed a new exhaust, they told me I only actually needed a piece of it, not the whole thing. So they sent me to a place just down the road that could weld on that piece only so I wouldn't have to buy a whole new exhaust, thus saving me a lot of money. They have even given me things like new lightbulbs for free when they're already doing a bunch of other work. They always explain what the issue is, they are professional, and I feel like I can really trust them, which, if you ask me, is the most important quality in a mechanic. I come to these guys for all my oil changes and inspections, even though I live in center city and it's a little bit of a drive. I will not go anywhere else. I highly, highly recommend this place.
