The rooms are cozy small, but we have never had a problem with that, as the inn keepers let you hang out in the lounge, on the porch and in the breakfast room so we always have plenty of space. And with free wi-fi and late night access to homemade cheesecake, we are in heaven. And how to even describe the breakfasts. Simply the best ever. Think of your grandma if she read a lot of gourmet magazines and always offered four or five options for breakfast. We're talking apple-blackberry pancakes, spinach feta quiche, Mexican omelets, yogurt parfaits, pastries, fruit salad, toast station, bacon and sausage--and this would be for one breakfast!!! We always leave feeling spoiled. If you have a kid at the academy, this is the best place to mother them when you visit as it is so homey and relaxed and you can ask to have access to the kitchen. The Inn also sometimes hosts wine and cheese evenings on the porch so you can mingle with the other guests. We enjoyed our last one of these so much. I can't stress enough what a good place to stay this is!!

Dennis and Ron are consummate professionals who executed our event seamlessly. From the beginning, they were responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable. The inclusive nature of the venue made wedding planning relatively stress free - we just needed to handle the cake and photographer. The food, florals, DJ, decor, etc. were all handled through Beiger - and they were all fantastic. The food was definitely a highlight for our guests! Dennis did an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly on the day of the wedding. The mansion is stunning inside and out, which made for amazing photos and ambiance. You can tell how much thought was put into the appearance of every room. Members of our family and bridal party stayed there for a few days and loved it. It was such a beautiful place to start our marriage. Dennis and Ron were so delightful to work with. We wholeheartedly recommend them for any event -- especially a wedding!

It's homey, but it has amazing character; the owners- Ron and Dennis- have created such a beautifully designed inn with antiques, historical pieces and artwork. The breakfasts were sumptuous and filling, and the rooms were so uniquely designed. Each one was different and looked like something out of the Victorian era. Our room was quite large, with a sitting area, large bathroom with a standalone tub and shower, and a cozy fireplace. We couldn't have asked for more. I highly recommend the Beiger. I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it...

It's walking distance from the beach and the main strip. We parked our car when we arrived and never touched it all weekend. The hotel also provides bikes to rent but we found that most places are walking distance and the roads/paths are not very bike friendly. Check in was super simple. Our room was very clean and updated. I wish they had smart TVs to connect to Netflix but we didn't spend much time watching TV anyways so it wasn't a big issue. The restaurant did seemed to get a bit noisy at night which drifted up to our room. The breakfast baskets were a BIG hit! The frittatas tasted so good! The fruit cups were also so fresh. I tried the prosciutto croissant on our last day which hit the spot. The quality of food was top notch - just wish we were able to order more! I had an appointment at the spa as well during our stay. The spa staff is super friendly. I used the robe and spa slippers provided in our room and spent some time in the salt water pool and hot tub before my appointment.

The decor is very nice and the hotel has an overall just nice classy aesthetic with a beautiful actual working fireplace in the lobby. A HUGE one, they were nice enough to let us check in early. This is huge if you have children especially ones that need to nap. The hotel was super clean. Our room was spotless. The king suite offered so much space for the 3 of us. The location is pretty central to most things you'd want to visit in the area. The in-room breakfast makes it super easy in the morning to have a stress free bite to eat in the AM. All the food we enjoyed seemed a step above typical "hotel food" Another HUGE plus, it was basically empty the day we visited. We had the entire pool to ourselves. My 3 year old was in heaven. This alone was amazing, lol Ok so now the cons: The hotel is super DARK inside. It's just more geared towards adults. The room was painted black and also super dark. Just took away from the beautiful sunshine that was outside the walls of the hotel, Advertised in the room for smores roasting but was told by the front desk they stopped doing that. Advertised for Ben and Jerries Hotline which is another added cost when you are already paying so much for the hotel. Not much for families to do here. Or if there was activities or things to do, no one really explained them. All in all would stay here again being mindful of the caveats!!!!

Everything from our arrival to our departure was perfect. The house is incredible and we loved hearing Jim share about his journey to rehab every inch of the place. I follow a vegan diet and Jim was very intentional about maintaining gourmet quality with the my plate as well (spiced oatmeal and fruit, along with many of the same sides as the main dish). He also made sure to ask about our coffee preference and had a small carafe ready for us to bring up to the room bright and early. We will definitely be back and can't wait to stay here again.

Since being here we have stayed several different places in South Bend, Elkhart, and Nappanee. Most shops give you the option of staying the nights in your rig but my bride isn't a fan of the 5:30am wake up knock. This house is by far the most comfortable, "home feeling" place we have been since we arrived here. We are staying in the the Coppes Suite and the room is spacious and clean. The bed and linens are very comfortable. We have slept very well. It's like sleeping at grandmothers house according to my wife. My wife has throughly enjoyed the huge bath tub, while I admit the hand shower has taken some getting used too for me. If you have trouble getting in and out of a tub, I would request different suite. Let's not forget the breakfast!! Yummy! Day one: Ham and egg cups, cheesy hash browns that would make Cracker Barrel jealous, toast with fresh strawberry jam, and a yogurt parfait. Day two: red pepper and cheddar cheese (local) omelette, roasted fingering potatoes, toast and a home made cinnamon roll! If you appreciate the classic architecture of a home built by community leaders from the mid 1800's. You will enjoy this place. If you are looking for glitz, there are several chains in Elkhart to stay at. Emily and Kenton are the most gracious hosts... Ps. The room had a smart tv so we could watch "our" Netflix and Hulu. Coffee and orange juice are abundant. My room was a birch room and was very spacious since I was the only guest. It contains a separate bath off the bedroom which made it an en-suite. The tv worked and there was a small fireplace in the room which emitted heat if you needed it. The design of the shower did not suit the bathroom because it needed to be deeper. Too much water escapes and gets on the floor. The blinds and microwave need cleaning - desperately. Hopefully, that will get done. Sleeping at night was great because it was very quiet. The main lobby/ house area is a few steps away and where breakfast is served as well as where you can grab soda or bottled water at any hour. There's also a lot of local brochures and an awesome DVD collection. We stayed over the rainiest weekend of all time. The cabin was cozy and we certainly enjoyed that amazing DVD collection- something for everyone. There is wifi which seemed a tad slow, but given the location and weather I was not surprised by that. The cabin stayed toasty even though we didn't turn up the thermostat or light the wood stove. The hot tub was quite nice for an evening when it finally stopped raining for an hour. Bill's Cabin is totally adorable in its rustic décor, and we absolutely loved the cat theme too! We were also told the cabins are pet friendly. Breakfast in the morning is great- pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit (HUGE honey crisp apples!!), juice, coffee. Great company with other guests and the owner, AJ. When we arrived the first night (around 8pm due to crazy weather), AJ was waiting and ready to give us a little tour. He even directed us to some local restaurants that would still be serving dinner. Location is a short drive to all the tourist locations and just a couple blocks from the lake. While I'm usually very frugal, I felt White Rabbit Inn was well worth the expense and we plan to come back for our first anniversary.
