Went to Burgess Falls...no parking available. We saw a sign about parking at the "red barn" and headed up there...or here. They have a venmo barcode outside, (it is $10 for parking) but I couldn't get it to work, so I went inside. It was packed! But I did manage to pay and get a receipt to put on my dashboard. They told me I could get $5 off my purchase if I showed my receipt. However at the register they said that promotion was over. In the end, they honored it, so I appreciated that. We had the banana pudding and peach cobbler and an ice cream. The ice cream was purchased separately, so we got it immediately. But it took at least 20 minutes for the pudding and cobbler. At one point, I jokingly said to my daughter "are they making it right now"...and they I think they were. The vanilla wafers on the sides and bottom were crunchy, not soggy. It is one of the better banana puddings I've had lately. Definitely recommend it! The cobbler was warm but not what I was looking for. They have a ton of local made products and the bathroom was very clean. Their sign advertised Farm to Table. If we get out that way again I would definitely give their menu a try. read more

We had high hopes for this place based on reviews and the barn is darling. It's similar to a Cracker Barrel with a small store area and then they also have ice cream. I had the chicken strips and I knew right away it was not going to be good. The chicken was not breaded with normal fried chicken batter, it was this tasteless puffy stuff - I don't even know what it is. Had no salt, pepper or any other seasoning. I took one bite and threw the rest away. The saving grace was the baked potato. We also had the banana pudding and I wouldn't get this again either - there MIGHT have been 3 pieces of banana when I stirred it but the pudding was just water, not thick at all. read more

We really wanted to love this place. Our AirBNB was nearby and the building, the staff, the setting were all adorable. You walk in and it gives Cracker Barrel vibes (in a good way) with a little retail area and ice cream bar. The food, however, just wasn't good, with the exception of the baked potatoes, and they were fine. I had a cheeseburger & fried pickles and my friend got the chicken tenders. The burger had a mauve tint to it. It was an odd perfect shape patty. I don't think it was frozen, but I'd put it in that category. The fried pickles and the chicken tenders have a weird batter that added nothing to either dish. Zero seasoning to the chicken... no salt, no pepper, no nothing. All of it was thrown out. Thank goodness for the baked potato. We decided to give the banana pudding a try. Mistake. It was box pudding with a couple slices of banana in it & some whip cream on top. No flavor. I gave 3 stars for staff & setting, but truly 0 stars for food. Maybe we went on a bad night, but I'd never go back. read more

We went to Burgess Falls today and after we left we saw this Farm to Table restaurant, and we stopped for lunch. The food was very good. You order at the register and they give you a buzzer. They buzz you when your food is ready. We have went by this place before, but we thought it was an actual barn. Thay have a little store with some things to purchase. They have farm made cheese, milk, butter and meats. They smoke the burgers and they are big burgers. I got a burger and 2 sides and I almost couldn't finish. The inside of the restaurant is qaint, homely, clean and cute. The staff were nice and the food was ready in about 10 minutes. It's a must stop after a good walk on the trails at Burgess Falls. It's about and hour and and 20 minutes out of Nashville. read more

Chestnut Oaks Farm Store is such a charming spot with beautiful scenery and a relaxed atmosphere. I had the fried bologna sandwich, which was tasty and satisfying, but the real highlight was the setting. The converted barn, the peaceful outdoor seating, and the surrounding countryside make it a perfect place to slow down and enjoy a warm meal. It's the kind of place you visit as much for the experience as for the food--definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area or make it a part of your journey. read more

The atmosphere at this charming farm store in a converted barn was fantastic! Fresh milk and beef products are available as well as a good selection of ice cream and menu that is perfect for a light lunch. We had a Patty Melt and Brisket sandwich with a margarita key lime pie for desert. Every thing was good at a fair price. The pie was definitely our favorite. Complaint are minimal, the brisket didn't have a smoked crust or flavor but there is a smoker behind the kitchen. I just didn't see or taste the characteristics of smoked brisket. The service was good but seemed unorganized considering most of the menu is premade. Also only one stall in the restroom and the hikers from the near by falls were in a hurry to get their chance to use the restroom. I assume people preferred to use it instead of those provided at the falls. I was raised in Texas so brisket is a staple for me so I am a tough critic I know but it was still a decent sandwich and the bun was delicious. We really liked the charm and freshness of the this place a lot. read more

Great place off the beaten path. Had a delicious cheeseburger. Fast and fresh and the ladies taking the order were very nice!

Chili was ok, fried green tomatoes were ok and my burger was medium rare which I wasn't even asked how I wanted it cooked so I just assumed it would be done 'med well' or 'well' like it should be. It's only a short distance from the interstate and adjacent to the entrance, practically of Burgess Falls Park, and if you're in the mood for a good meal of fried green tomatoes, burgers, and much more with the ambience of a very clean refurbished barn, this is a must visit! read more

Chestnut Oaks Farm Store and Kitchen is a cool place to visit. We have stopped in many times for an iced tea and ice cream. We've came to buy cheese and meat. Tonight we decided to have dinner here as we were camping nearby. Nobody was bbqing/smoking, so obviously everything is bbq'd in advance, which we understand. Our order was ready quickly. We had the patty melt. The meat wasn't hot, therefore it was dry, onions weren't hot, cheese wasn't melted, but the bread was toasted. Not a typical "patty melt". We also had the loaded brisket potato. Asked for the meat to be on the side. The potato came plain with 2 butter packets and the meat was on the side. We asked for cheese. They sell butter in their case, but don't use butter, just an oil butter spread? Potato was warm, not hot. Spread wouldn't melt and either did the cheese. It could have been great hot, with real butter and the cheese melted. The beans were good, fries were hot. The ice cream we had for dessert was good. It pains me to leave a mediocre review for the food as we wanted to love our dinner and we love to support independent businesses. The folks are friendly here as well. We will come back like before for drinks, ice cream, cheese, meat and some of the great products they sell. We might even try the fried bologna sandwich or salad? read more
