Water is murky, but it makes sense because it's a lake. About four benches were taken from other people/families because a family refused to rent the pavilion. Had many water cases from Sam's Club (about 3 cases), a couple of different pop varieties from Sam's Club (4 cases of 12 packs), and a bunch of snacks? Same person left flags in the sand, Jordan. Not sure why, guy was by himself.

Last season I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. While I'm ok now our fellow seasonal campers rallied around us and provided us a ton of emotional support. We love it here. New ownership bought the campground last season and there are already a lot of improvements and more are coming but the best feature by far is the people. My wife got out of the van to check us in and wasnt even greeted with a "Hello" or "Good afternoon". It was "Was that you flying up our driveway? You need to slow down." (i was going around 8 mph. ) Thursday when we arrived, the Wibit was free. AWESOME! Friday through Sunday you will be charged a whopping $33.00 per kid to jump on the WIBIT, (NOT FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND, 1 DAY ONLY.) Friday we paid $70 bucks (with taxes) for our kids to go on the WIBIT and play. NOW, if you have a child that needs to be watched, they will try to charge for you just to go in the water. You may even get told, "Just sit on the grass." It was over 95 degrees our entire trip. Friday there was no way i was going to not be in the water with my kids. Life vests or not. Friday evening showering was a nightmare. (1) shower in the mens and womens room. Each also only had 1 toliet. The water for the showers was awful. Either smelled the sulfur or you were taking an iron shower. (water smelled like iron. (Whatever, no worries.) Saturday-during the day was great. Mind you now its the 4th of July. 8 kids made friends througout the campground. Great, kids being kids. (The Kangaroo jump was open till 10, 10:30 on Friday night.) I would say about 20 kids were on the Kangaroo jump, and they were told by managment, that they had to get off and it was closing. Mind you this was before the sun was even setting! One night its open past dark, now all of a sudden it closes before dark? interesting. Now kids hopped on their Bikes and went crusing around the camp ground. It was getting dark. FIREWORK TIME RIGHT? Kids were then told again by management, they needed to get off their bikes, were not aloud to ride at dusk (FINE, but...) then they were told they needed to return to their campsites. OK, NOW IM MAD! Kids bring bikes back and go up to playground to watch fireworks. KIDS WERE TOLD AGAIN BY MANAGMENT, "YOU KIDS ARE NOT ALOUD TO BE HERE, YOU NEED TO RETURN TO YOUR SITE. (by management who just so happened to be staying on property, drinking and yelling at my kids.) DO NOT LIST AS A FAMILY FRIENDLY CAMPSITE, IF ALL YOU ARE GOING TO DO IS TELL KIDS NOT TO BE KIDS. I UNDERSTAND RULES, BUT MAKE THEM MORE CLEAR BEFORE PEOPLE BOOK. -you offer paddle boats, where were they? - pulled this from website..."We also offer paddleboat and canoe rentals" we were told we do not have those. -you offered a arcade, not sure where to even find it. -staff was not very friendly. -day we were leaving, couldnt even throw trash in dumpster because it was overflowing so bad. If you are going to advertise, "family freindly", lots of changes need to be made. Pricing for your Wibit is insane, scolding kids for being kids, not offering more to your guests in regards to bathrooms/showers. Do not be misleading online, it will only cause more issues. I asked my kids if they ever wanted to come back, they both said NO WAY! We will keep going down to Mohican where you are greeted with smiles, kind gesutres and great people. If you are an angry elderly person, this campground is just the place for you!

The highway noise from I-76 only a few feet away is deafening at all hours of the day. And while they do have lots of nice amenities like the swimming pond, they really lose their luster when you have to yell just to have a conversation with people in a small circle. Also they also will nickel and dime you like you wouldn't believe.... A small tent on a site with a camper is not allowed we had to pay $110 to get another site. A card key to leave during the day is a $10 deposit. They only have 220V hookups, but for $5 you can have an adapter to 110V. Swimming on the slide will be fun, after you rent a life jacket for $5. Staying until noon on checkout day is allowed for a small fee of $25. There's definitely a pattern of getting every cent out of you that they can rather than making an enjoyable experience. They also have a list of rules that is as long as it is ridiculous. And they seriously enforce them. Children under 21 must be accompanied after 10pm (good luck telling your 20 year old they can't go to the bathroom by themselves after dark!). You aren't allowed to bring an axe to split wood. Carpets aren't allowed on the sites to preserve the "grass". (The sites are all just crushed asphalt that is not level and easy to roll an ankle on, I didn't see much grass.) and finally the site is limited to 2 adults and 2 children. So if you have 3 kids, I guess you have to get another site. I still can't believe people pay money for staying here. I guess them being right next to the highway much more convenient for them to pull off highway robbery.

This campground is the type of place I always wanted to visit as a kid. It is huge with so many…read moreactivities that you could literally spend your entire vacation here and never leave the grounds. I recently visited with my partner and our two kids. Let's just say, we aren't totally the dedicated campers where we need to pitch tents, bring all the accessories and sleep on the ground. That's why this place especially stood out as they had luxury cabins for rent. Or as my partner said, I'm good as long as I have air conditioning and running water! The cabin came with a screened-in porch, an outdoor fire pit for evening s'mores, a loft where the kids slept, a full living room and kitchen with refrigerator another room with bunkbeds, a bathroom and then the master bedroom at the back of the cabin complete with dressers to put away your clothes. I'm one of those people that always unpacks and must have things organized, so it was a lifesaver. You can rent golf carts, highly recommended as the grounds are spacious and some of the cabins are located far away from the activities. There are also communal laundry facilities, which were great to have since we had to use them day 1 of our trip! The common area offers free activities like playgrounds, mini golf, character meet n' greets and wagon rides along with firetruck rides. Other activities cost extra like ceramic making, tie die shirt making, glitter tattoos and several others. Some nights they offer free movie screenings and other programs. Overall, this was like camping without the pain! That's my kind of camping. Cabin rentals are a little pricey, but with all that space, it could accommodate a large family or even combine it with others to help split the cost. Finally, the biggest hit was the water park. This is a can't miss. We got a poolside cabana and spent most of our days here. The kids didn't want to leave!

I…read morewas a little skeptical when hearing there was a free campground in this state forest but the reviews seemed really good so we decided to make it a stop on our way to West Virginia. The road to get to the campground was winding and very dark but when we arrived we saw a beautiful campground with paved spots. There are no amenities with only a vault toilet and water pump. Still the sites were nice and large. You pass several shooting ranges on the way to the campground. There is also a trail that loops around the campground.

This site is free! Hidden Hollow, in Fernwood State Forest, is one of three free Ohio campgrounds…read morewithin a half hour drive. Here are trash bins, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site, plus a well-blazed trail edging the campground. There are pit toilets in the center of the ring that do smell like free campground pit toilets, but they are far enough from the campsites that you'll be okay even on a hot summer day, especially if you're a ping with a self-contained unit. Our site had a great mix of field and tree cover with raspberries or other bramble fruits lining the campground. Hummingbirds, cardinals, nuthatches, and a concert of fireflies were fun to watch. The free part is especially good since there are pigeon, rifle, and handgun target ranges outside the camp loop, and you do hear them even on a Monday. And first thing Tuesday morning. This is a dry campground in every way so bring your own water. If you aren't target practicing, use your red cup and don't act like a rookie. About half the sites were in use the Monday night we stayed. Despite the ballistic sounds, the camp loop was quiet, and we had a very restful stay.
