Dr. Chetver was my PCP from about 2020-2022. I saw a comment from someone on another site saying she is great if nothing is wrong with you, and that is the absolute truth. Otherwise, she is awful - just awful. I walked out of my last appointment with her because she was so rude and condescending. I came to her seeking answers as I had gained a ton of weight, possibly due to untreated PCOS, and nothing I was doing helped. I had lost 20+ lbs with no issues years before and kept it off, so I understand how this works. Dr. Chetver appeared annoyed with me and said, "This is why you came in? Why don't you try Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers?" JENNY. CRAIG. What is this?? 1995?? I responded with something like "f this" and walked out. She tried to salvage it by saying they could do labs, but at that point, girl please. She's awful and should not be in medicine at all. Elena, I want to share some honest feedback. Unfortunately, my experience with your receptionist was very discouraging. She came across as extremely rude and unprofessional. A friend highly recommended you to me and spoke wonderfully about your work, so I was very excited to become your patient. However, when I mentioned my insurance (which is one of the most common in LA), the receptionist said she had never heard of it and that you don't accept it. Later, when I called again to ask which health plans you do work with--since I was even considering transferring just to see you--she almost yelled at me: "You should call them, not here, to get this info." The way she spoke was not only unhelpful but also intimidating. Honestly, I'm now hesitant to come to you solely because of how she treated me. I also noticed in online reviews that several others have had similar experiences with her. I wanted you to know this, because I believe many patients would love to see you, but interactions like this could prevent them from ever reaching your office. read more

I'll start with the fact that there are impudent women at the reception who answer rudely, hang up and lie, even to insurance companies, their names are Ilona and Evgenia. They behave tactlessly and brazenly not only with me, but also with other patients, I was a witness. Taking advantage of the fact that people will not go look for another doctor, they have to turn a blind eye to boorish behavior, they remain unpunished by continuing their actions, in case of a complaint they blackmail and kick out of the office. Ilona behaves brazenly, hangs up, Evgenia communicates very rudely, says that you can complain about them and look for another office. I recently switched to this doctor, about 3 months, during all the time that I was there, several times, not once did the reception show goodwill. I don't know where the doctor is looking, maybe she doesn't know, or maybe she covers for them for unknown reasons. I called the reception to find out when the referrals to specialists would arrive, to which one of the employees named Ilona said that I needed to call the insurance company and find out from them. Having called the insurance company, I found out that there had been no requests for referrals to specialists from this office at all, and the insurance employee helping me called there 4 times, to which the doctor's office hung up. I want to note that I did not complain about them, but simply wanted to get referrals. Having learned about this attitude, the insurance company took the initiative into its own hands, without my knowledge, filed a complaint against the doctor's office, which I was not aware of. Having learned about this from notifications from the insurance company, I called to refute the complaint, since I had not complained about anyone. After that, I changed the insurance, notifying the doctor, waiting for a referral to specialists again. The same story happened that happened earlier, in another medical company. My mother called the doctor's office and asked about specialists. Ilona told my mother that the doctor would no longer serve us, she refused our entire family of 3 people, since I allegedly wrote a complaint about the doctor, leading my mother to the point that my mother would justify herself. I sat next to her and said loudly into the phone that I had not complained about anyone, to which Ilona doubted my words, and we cannot communicate with the doctor, they do not want to call her to the phone, and there was no opportunity to come and clarify this issue. That same day, I called the health insurance company to find out the reasons why the doctor was refusing me. The employee said that she has no right to refuse me, only I can change her myself if I want, to which I responded with a refusal, saying that there is no reason for this. The health insurance worker called the doctor's office to find out everything, one of the workers at the reception blatantly lied to him, allegedly there were no calls and we did not contact them, and our calls recorded in our phones do not prove anything. Then, I asked the worker to ask to speak to the doctor personally, he tried to call back 4 times, to which the office either did not pick up the phone or hung up. He offered to file a complaint against the reception workers, I agreed, having mentioned in advance that I have no complaints against the doctor and the office, only complaints against Ilona and Evgenia. These women distorted everything, put us in a false light, and the doctor did not even try to contact us and find out the reasons. It seems that the doctor is not aware of what is happening, she was not even informed that there were complaints about both of them, they allegedly made it out that there were complaints about the office and the doctor. These two workers are weaving intrigues, pitting the doctor against the patients and vice versa, otherwise you can't explain the doctor's behavior and refusal of patients without reason. What a pity that the doctor does not instruct the employees of his office how to communicate with patients, behave correctly and politely, and so quickly, without finding out the reasons, without talking to the patients, refuses them as unclaimed people. In this case, you might think that the doctor is ruled not by her professional duty and love for patients and her work, but by something else... Pay attention to this. read more

Am I at the same office as everyone with these glowing reviews? I've been looking for a new doctor in the area and finally got an appointment with Dr Chetver but have had an overwhelmingly negative experience. I was running late for my appointment and called to leave a message that I was on my way. When I arrived the receptionist was extremely rude and tried to say I had not called and didn't correct herself after listening to my message in front of me. The nurse was sick the day of my appointment so I was told to come back to get my blood drawn the next week. When I arrived the receptionist was not there, after 5 minutes she arrived and did not acknowledge me. I waited 5 more minutes and then politely asked if it was possible to get my blood drawn. She was extremely snippy and said the nurse stepped out and I'd have to wait. I waited 15 more minutes and then left. Also, there is no portal or email communication so I had no confidence that if I had waited to get my blood drawn I'd ever learn of the results. I will not be returning and will restart my search for an internist. I'm truly shocked at all the positive reviews as this was not my experience at all. read more

I had rheumatic fever, the doctor was not there and instead of helping me, the receptionist yelled at me. After that I left this place and had panic attack for a few hours. I felt very well taken care of and listened to here, which is just not something you experience often a doctors office is sadly, especially if you are on medi-cal. Absolutely the best PCP for an HMO in the Medi-Cal system. Could not believe how this doctor does not mess around when you come in with your conditions for something she can't treat you for. She refers you out immediately. This doctor was thorough with my issues and history, so was her staff at intake, and they don't mess around, Loved that it was this easy to get referred to the proper doctors with no run around. Easy and practical access. A picking person like me who sees visiting doctor a needed chemistry connection; it has to be almost like a sexual relationship in a good sense of course. Rsrs. I chose this doctor due to the proximity of the office to my job. The staff seemed friendly enough and I didn't have to wait the long to see her. However, the cleanliness of the exam rooms leaves much to be desired. The room where the medical assistant took my back to take my vitals was cluttered and messy. On the counter, there was an old vial of blood (gross!). My exam went okay until the subject of my weight come up - of course, I expect a little counseling on healthy eating, exercise, etc. However, with this consultation, I felt overly shamed. She told me to throw everything out of my fridge and refused to exam and press on my abdomen as is customary because my belly was too big. She prescribed me the wrong medication and her staff refuses to acquire the necessary forms another one that needs a prior authorization from me. I had to download and fax the forms to them myself, and they still claim to not have received him. I was given a referral to a specialist with the wrong diagnosis and they didn't even take my insurance, resulting in a wasted trip and a delay in treatment for a pressing medical concern on my part. Bottom line I've called this office repeatedly for my medications and referrals and nothing has been done, which is unacceptable. The burden of paperwork and referrals should not be placed on the patient and staff should do their jobs. I don't have time to chase paperwork and try to get people to do the correct things so that I can receive proper care. I will be shopping for another PCP as soon as time allows. read more

DR ELENA CHETVER is AMAZING! I fainted yesterday for first time in my life and had to be taken to a trauma hospital. The trauma center ran a comprehensive series of tests but forgot one which Dr Chetver's AMAZING medical assistant IDA caught. Dr Chetver also personally called me today to see how I am! I am SO GRATEFUL to be her patient and SO GRATEFUL for her patience teaching me as a 51 year old adult what proper medical care is (I was abandoned/severely neglected by both parents who never took me to a doctor as a child until I left home at 10)and have adverse childhood experiences test (ACE) score of 10/10). read more

Personable, kind, funny and helpful. I got appointed this doctor by medi-cal and really happy with the results. It's a little tricky to find as there is another doctors office across the hallway from them who's doctors name is also Elena lol but other than that I really liked coming here. It's all women which hell yea! Girl Power! And they were all very kind to me. One of the older nurses who saw me before Dr. Chetver was really funny and playful so it made me feel really at ease. The only downfall is that it can be a bit of a wait for an appointment but hey that might also just be medi-cals fault who knows. Just be prepared that if you set up an appointment that it might be a month before you get in to see her. Aside from that it's a great office. Dr. Chetver was nice and got me set up with a great gynecologist whom they helped me pick out. All in all very pleased with my experience so far. read more
