Great food, great service, and an amazing value. Ben, our server, was fantastic -- attentive and totally engaged with our group. His level of service is something you'd expect from a Michelin-star restaurant. The food is way more than you might expect, too. We had the ribeye with peppercorn cognac sauce ($16.99) and it was way better than I've had in much fancier restaurants around Lake Chatuge. The pork chop ($14.99) also was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and huge! The included salad is fresh and large enough to be a meal by itself. Went with friends at 6pm. After 2 hours of not being served I asked the waitress what the problem was. She said she had dropped our food but we didn't believe that. 30 minutes later 2.5 hours after ordering we got food. She said she would take care of the bill but didn't. At 9pm we left and for the first time ever I didn't leave a tip. We go to both locations several times a month but this was a really horrible experience. read more

Atmosphere was great; laid back with a full bar but were able to be there with children also. Burgers were great, appetizers were spot on especially the mozzarella sticks. We have eaten at Chevelle's several times and always been pleased with food quality and service. Last night we visited and were completely dissatisfied. We waited 15 minutes to get a servers attention after being seated. We were told no salads because they had run out of lettuce. We waited 30 minutes to get our meal. The fish tacos were awful; a strip of fish with a small wedge of tomato; no spice, no sauce. We will not be returning. read more

We were visiting friends so they suggested we'd go here for an early dinner. Torrie was the cutest and most entertaining waitress! She was a hoot. Hardly anybody in the place around 530, but food was good. Everybody loved their burgers. We had ordered our french fries crispy and when we received them, they were soggy. We had to send them back and asked for "crispy fries" again which they came back perfect. Overall I would recommend this hole in the wall restaurant. read more

Overall a great local bar in Hayesville & Murphy. They have great beers on tap and bottled. They have a vegan menu as well as excellent pasta and burgers. I've been to both locations multiple times and it is consistently good and affordable. read more

We loved this bar until we encountered the bartender under the influence. We were her only customers & she couldn't get the drink order right. She could barely stand up let alone keep her eyes open. Once we got the correct drinks, we quickly placed our food order. When we looked to see what was going on with her & our order, we notice that she is on our side of the bar mowing on food of her own. One of the other servers brought us our meals & asked if we wanted another drink. They also checked back & brought us the utensils & condiments we needed. They really stepped up to cover for this woman. So, as we were finishing our meal, the bartender came over and handed me the bill. No...how was the meal, need another drink...nothing. I told her to give the tab to one of the servers that took care of us while waving her off. The woman raised her voice and accused me of touching & then when she grabbed the phone & called the police on us, she said I pushed her. Mind you, my wife was with me. Thank goodness the wife was pretty fast & sharp. We were gone before the cops got there. We will never go back as long as she bartends there. We informed the owners but yet she still has a job. Two nights ago I was really sick, could'nt keep anything down for hours. I called the bar late, late that night. Lisa helped me and they were actually already closed. If I could give this 3 1/2 stars, I would. It's better than 3. Stopped in here for the first time tonight to order takeout. Asked the bartender if there was anything she'd recommend. She (and a guest sitting next to me) suggested the burgers, and she also suggested the pasta. So I got a burger and the raviolis so I could taste both, and have lunch tomorrow. The burger was really good, and cooked perfectly (I requested medium). The fries were decent as well. The raviolis come with an Alfredo sauce, which I thought was odd, so I requested a red sauce instead. The raviolis were small, but had a decent number in the dish. Where this review goes from a 4 to a 3 1/2, was the red sauce. WAY too much oregano for my taste. It seemed like a canned sauce they doctored up, but either way, they should really cut back on the oregano. But I will go back. read more

I feel sorry for the chef(s). The food is amazing, but the service sucks! Tried doing take out yesterday to avoid eating there, and it took 2 hours for 1 order of wings and 1 order of nachos. Food was ok, but nothing to really brag about. Their prices were ridiculously high. $16 for a basic hamburger, $19 for a chicken Caesar salad . . . WOW. used to drive up from Blairesville, but stopped eating out because of Covid. Went last week and went into sticker shock. Longhorns has better pricing, better service, and much nicer atmosphere. I don't want to say that I never went to Chevelle's because I turned me nose up at it, but it looked like a biker bar to me. Just the look from the outside. Not that it was torn up or dirty or anything. I don't know why I thought that. We were leaving town one day around lunch so we stopped in. It was pretty empty. We ordered burgers I think. They were great. Definitely surprised. (Again... don't know why I'm just assuming they wouldn't be). However, when I left I still said, "If we come her again it'd have to be at lunch because it's probably wild at night." Still thinking biker bar. One evening a few months later we were going home and decided to pickup some food for dinner. After all, don't want to bring any children into a biker bar. So I walk in to place my order and I realize I have completely misjudged this place. The average patron age is probably 55, and most are dressed business casual. Not a single biker in sight. What was I thinking? They had a great wing deal that night, so we left with plenty of wings for dinner and lunch the next day. They were very tasty. My husband and I ate at Chevelle's last night and got the best service we've had in a long time from any restaurant we've eaten at. We sat at the bar and Lisa took care of us. She immediately greeted us, took our drink orders, gave us menus, silverware and shared the specials. She checked on us off and on til we were ready to order. While waiting for our dinner, we watched Lisa. She had a full bar she was taking care of plus making all of the drinks from the rest of the restaurant. Don't know how she was keeping it going. She was greeting people as they walked in, talking with everyone, serving, putting together to go orders. We were impressed! Good help is hard to find. Great burgers, the Best onion rings and friendly service. BUT NOT family-friendly, at least not around the bar. You'll have to tolerate foul language PG-13 and R-rated. Staff tolerates it so they believe you should, too. I eat here weekly when my wife is in Atlanta. 3 strikes, they're out: Strike 1: a drunk at the bar loudly announced how the bartender was "ugly and fat" to her friend. The bartender retreated into the kitchen. I felt sorry for her, explained the incident to the manager, left a $100 tip, and left. The manager said, "I'll look into it." She didn't speak to the patron - nothing. Strike 2: last week, the waitress brought me a drink I didn't order and seemed annoyed when I declined. Padding my bill? Strike 3: last night, an unruly group of 3 ladies, telling stories, reciting lyrics to some song that included "penis" and "b*tt f***ing". There was a 10 yr old boy sitting nearby who heard it all. Not sure where his parents were. Sorry - I shouldn't have to listen to that. When I looked at the girls in disapproval, they became belligerent, saying "you shouldn't be eavesdropping". I suggested their language was not suitable for a public, family restaurant. It escalated. 3 drunk women against one old man in his 60s in a country bar/restaurant can quickly turn ugly so I called for the manager. Bartender didn't do anything. Manager: "You pulled me out of the kitchen for this?" We talked, the drunks left. Manager: "They're gone now. Are you happy?" No, I'm not. Paid for and left my unfinished meal and will never go back. Only ONE total reviews on Yelp and was dated 11/30/2014. I do agree with Jeff C. that did this older (and only) review, that the servers are great and do their best possible for the customers, BUT the kitchen staff (and owner) needs to fix their problems or shut the restaurant down! Moved to this area about 9 months ago and since there are limited options here we've tried over and over to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Most of their serves seem to only last a short time and several of them have told us that they can't say anything about problems in the kitchen and feel helpless. I believe the owner is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). What a disgrace to run a restaurant that frequently writes specials on their board and they can't even correctly spell what they are offering, nor do they even know what that dish is or how to pronounce it. During season here, be prepared to wait a long time and be very disappointed with what is brought to your table, that is, even if the kitchen can get your order correct. read more

We were guests at Chevelle's on Sunday evening. Our friends ordered the onion rings for an appetizer. They were amazing. I ordered the Bel Air, which is basically a grilled cheese sandwich. I don't know how you can mess that up, but the bread wasn't grilled, there was hardly any mozzarella & I had to pull the sandwich apart to find the tiny pieces of avocado. Our waiter Cody was great. Was in town for work with my girlfriend and this was the only restaurant around still open. The employees were super nice and friendly. We went in and ordered a ribeye and chicken tenders to go. The chicken tenders were very good, fries were mediocre and the herb potatoes that came with my steak were amazing. Usually when you order a steak to go, you can expect the quality to be a little less than sitting down and eating in. This was not the case. My steak was absolutely perfect! Cooked perfectly, still hot and possibly the most tender, tasty steak I have ever had for 19.99. We ordered a 12 oz that night and the very next day went back and each got a 16 oz to ourselves. Definitely recommend, their 20 buck steak was better than some 40-50 dollar steaks I have had. Will not disappoint!! read more

Skip it. This was our first trip here and will more than likely be our last. For a restaurant that has a whole menu dedicated to burgers, you would think they would get it right. We all ordered medium burgers and all them them came out rare. When we told the waitress about it she just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry. She offered to "re-cook" the burger on the plate but we all declined and asked for the check (full price ticket for all the burgers). There is a better burger place a few minutes away called Gibson's. I would suggest you spend your money there. read more

Went to this Chevelle's location for the first time the other night with my husband. I enjoy it much more than the one in Murphy. I find the staff and aesthetics overall more pleasing. I'm pregnant and have been craving spicy wings so we went for wing night. I had the wings, which were okay. I like spicy and got the spiciest ones they had, which were a little weak in my opinion, but not bad overall. My husband got the grilled fish tacos with steak fries, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The wait for food was a little long (probably about 45 minutes to an hour), but they were super busy and we didn't really mind. It was trivia night so we played that to pass the time. I feel Chevelle's in general used to be much better years ago when the Murphy location first opened up, but if I had my choice of locations this one is much better than the one in Murphy. read more

Chevelle's USED to be great - the quality of food has fell to almost unacceptable levels (there are a few dishes that are ok). Not sure when this happened since I haven't been back to Hayesville much in the past few years, but when we were there the other night, the burgers were insanely under cooked. I was there with a group of people I haven't seen in a while to see our friend play a show, so we were distracted from the horrible quality of the food. Plus, our waiter was pretty on top of things - unfortunately, not all of the staff was as professional as he was. Owners and/or managers need to first get their kitchen staff in line before they make someone sick, and then they need to reevaluate the people they hired as their FOH staff to avoid losing the local customer base that keeps the restaurant alive. read more

Had the house salad with a piece of Salmon added. When served the fish was still raw in the middle. I told the waiter it need to be cooked a little more. He then asked do I like my salmon over cooked. I said not just not raw. He took the entire place back. When reserved to me you can see it was stuck in the microwave salad and all. I tried this place again. I had the best burger in the world. I'm not sure that I can go anywhere else again when I get a "Let's go for a burger" fix. Chevelle's seems to draw large crowds. This time we lucked out and we were quickly served and seated. The variety of burger choices was fabulous. I ended up getting the "Brunch Burger" which was a big thick burger topped with hashbrowns, fried egg, and real thick bacon, along with a side of biscuit gravy. Needless to say, I couldn't eat it all. Then our charming waiter (Logan) introduced us to the bread pudding. Oh my! It was bread pudding topped with a rum sauce and vanilla ice cream. It could easily feed four. We will be back to try another awesome burger with a different topping. read more

I have been to this restaurant numerous times and until the last two times it was great. Service was excellent despite a notoriously slow kitchen and apathetic managment. I live in Hayesville and this restaurant, despite it's glaring flaws, is a staple. Probably because we don't have many more choices. I am currently sitting at the bar sipping on a seriously overpriced maker's and ginger (eight bucks for a half shot of maker's and about four ounces of ginger ale? It's about 3/4 ice, totally not kidding). I ordered a take out app that I have gotten probably like 5 times before. Before they "improved" the menu it was about 8 bucks. Now it's 11 and you get less. Also, to no fault of the bartender, it was wrong even though my requests were clearly made on the receipt. My family and I came to eat a few months ago. It was right after they changed the menu. It was so hot inside that I had to move outside. Packed dining room, no fans, no AC and windows that don't open. Good times. Outside there were no fans and it was FULL of flies. Lindsey was our server (I'm not even sure if she still works here. If she doesn't it's their loss. She's great). She worked her pants off trying to accommodate a family with a 3 year old. child with absolutely no help from anyone, including the management who really didn't seem to give a shit about anyone unless it was obvious that they would shell out big bucks for their crappy food. Having waited tables for years i can tell you from experience that you don't just assume anything about anyone. I am a fantastic tipper (usually more than 20% even if the service is sub-par. I know how hard they work and how much they make) and I guess they figured that since we had a young kid that we would be very demanding, make a huge mess and leave a bad tip. Wrong on all accounts. The new, "improved" menu is smaller than before and significantly more expensive. It is DEFINITELY not worth what they're charging these days. I guess the prices are for our large amount of tourists who are accustomed to paying 11 dollars for 4 fried ravioli and other such nonsense. Good luck, Chevelle's. This is bullshit. Went to Chevelle"s 69 again Thursday night. Decided to try their wings this time and was not disappointed, they were Fantastic. The wife and I have that with onion rings which was also delicious. We had the honey blackened wings which had a sweet and savory blend of flavors that were very good, some of the best I ever had. When again find myself in the mood for wings will be back.
