This quaint cafe is nestled in the mountains. We really had no expectations, but we absolutely loved everything we ate. The service was prompt, polite, and knowledgeable. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. Valley Corn Nuggets - like a deep fried creamed corn. They were crispy and a bit sweet. We've never had something like this before, and we loved them! Fried Pickles - these were so crispy! It was a nice touch to remove the seeds and thinly slice the pickle spears before adding batter and frying them. Farmhouse burger - the patty was juicy, the egg was runny, and the bun was the perfect consistency to hold everything together. And those fries?! Wow! Crispy but meaty. My husband and I went this past Thursday night for AYCE snow crab legs. However, the BBQ pork sandwich looked so good, I went with that...My husband thoroughly enjoyed the crab legs, especially the potato salad that came with it, 10 out of 10...For me, this was probably one of the best pork sandwiches I've ever had...Soft warm bun, chopped pork (sauce on the side) one onion ring on top with coleslaw in the middle of the onion ring! My wife and I recently visited Andrews to ride the rail bike and had supper here on a Saturday evening. We both had the prime rib special and it was okay. The meat was a little tough for prime rib and our potatoes were not fully cooked so they were crunchy in spots. It was rather expensive for a restaurant like this. I don't think we would try the prime rib again. We also had fried okra and it was excellent! Maybe this is a burger and fry place and should stay in that lane and not venture out. If you are going to give them a try I would go for more normal items and again, the fried okra was excellent!! Our waitress was sweet but did not come to check on us much and we felt abandoned sitting outside. They have nice seating and the fans help, but didn't get great service. This was such a great stop! We needed a quick lunch and this was the perfect place. I was recovering from a cold and hadn't really had much of an appetite but we grabbed some seats outside and ordered! The food was excellent and brought my appetite right back! I ordered the steak salad. The salad was a bit sweeter than I like my salad but it was delicious. The raspberry vinaigrette was so great. The greens were fresh and crisp and the steak was freshly cooked and perfectly seasoned! I took the chocolate cake to go and it was excellent. The server was cute and efficient! Stopped by this cute little restaurant. The food was amazing. The portions were large. The staff were very nice. We order the French dip special and it was amazing! Also the fries were perfect. Got the chicken tenders and they were great. The dessert all looked amazing. We ordered the peanut butter pie. Which was awesome! The restaurant's immaculately clean too. We have a vacation cabin in Marble, NC. It's great to have such a little gem nearby. We always find the time to eat here. Food is always fresh and delicious. I recently ordered the salad with steak, strawberries and candied pecans. The owner Alexa substituted the strawberries with local season apples and tomatoes. Delicious!!! Ate twice here this time and had the salad with chicken and later with steak. Hefty portion of steak on the salad. My husband had the Farmhouse burger cooked to perfection and later the fish & chips with catfish. The carrot cake with caramel sauce is a must!!! Again, delicious. I'm so glad we found this place on the way back from a winery!!! We were looking for somewhere to eat and there is NOTHING available around this area. We were worried we wouldn't get to eat for another hour, and then Farm House diner came out of nowhere. Farm House diner is right off the highway. The restaurant is so quaint. We sat outside under the covered porch. The open air made us feel comfortable and safe with our COVID concerns. Plus there is a beautiful Mountain View right off the front of the restaurant!! It's a diner but the food is better than diner quality. And there's many more options beyond just burgers and fries. I had a beyond burger with fried okra. I can not say enough about this place! Food - EXCELLENT! Service - EXCELLENT! Atmosphere - EXCELLENT! We both got the all you can eat catfish (only on Fridays after 2:00) The fish was large, hot, juicy and fried to perfection. It came with FF, not your regular FF, those battered FF that are good and crunchy. The girls in there were so polite and boy did they hustle. The dinner only has three booths, two tables and a high top, so if you get there and have to wait......wait! It's worth it. There's outside seating too, weather permitting. We made a reservation for our anniversary dinner. We were looking forward to the prime rib dinner. My husband and I have eaten many times at farmhouse but only lunch. Needless to say I was very excited to finally get their prime rib dinner. We arrived at 5:30. Doors locked & a sign that read private party. Two young ladies came out. Long story short, they were sorry, they only had one reservation for the night. Of coarse we have voice mail! No phone call! Nothing!!! We are local people, we might eat there again might not! Customer service is most important. We are so disappointed!Chevelle's 66 got our business for our 34th wedding anniversary and our steaks were delicious! A gem out in the country! Our gang stopped in after Andrew's rail tour and sat outside at a picnic table. Young lady waitress was super attentive and helpful with the menu. Substitutes were " no problem ". Enjoyed the fried okra and hush puppy baskets. I don't eat much fried food but both were on the light side and tasty, only quibble was lack of seasoning. 4 of us had Farmhouse burger with fried egg on top, what put it over the top was the Sidewinders French fries! Outstanding! After leisurely 1/2 hour chat We settled up inside and ended up talking with owner and bought 1/2 carrot cake and 1/2 cheesecake. Very delicious. FHD proudly boated a 100% health score certificate! Really just a great overall food/service/ambiance experience. All the ladies that own/run the business were friendly and highly conversational. The business was adorably decorated and very clean. The service was top notch. The food has been the best we've had on our entire road trip. We all had the lemonade and it was homemade and very delicious. I ordered the crispy buffalo chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese and it was awesome! My husband loved the pulled pork sandwich with a sunny side up egg. He mentioned that the pork was so delicious that it didn't even need bbq sauce. Not everyone can eat southern-fried-southern, beef-more-beef, and pork-bbq-pork all the time. Your menu needs something more healthy and balanced besides just plain salads. What about a grilled herb and garlic half chicken with a nice demiglace? Sautéed vegetables? Roasted garlic mashed potatoes, instead of just baked? Collard greens?
