When visiting new establishment it's best to go with whatever your friend orders since this is their territory. She ordered the ribs and I was able to try one and it was by far one of the best I've had in a long time. I was trying to be good since overloading on food and alcohol. The last few days and opted for the grilled chicken dinner with broccoli. I was very much happy with my meal. I preferred to drink my calories so I did order myself a nice old-fashioned. Ambience was definitely fun and we were all enjoying ourselves and it's just a great atmosphere when you can also interact with the bartenders. I would go back again. read more

Restaurant has lake views as the name implies, but we were seated in the corner so we couldn't see much - ask for a table near the window! We had mozzarella balls which were amazing! We went back to try the "Saturday Prime Rib" night. Ill save time by saying simply skip it. Was way overdone, it looked like a boiled piece of roast beef. And we literally had to throw the leftovers (which was 75% of it) in the trash it was . . . Well, not just flavorless, but actually bad. Service was good, and the pretzel appetizer was good. We've been here a few times now & it's a good restaurant to come back too! The fried cheese (mozzarella) appetizer was the best I've had - and unique - made in big cubes rather than string cheese sticks and it did not disappoint! Each cube was about 4 polite bites - could definitely be shared, and I do recommend the marinara over the ranch but that all personal preference. Their fried flounder is fantastic! My husband says the shrimp po' boy was very good, as well. Unfortunately, the Mac & Cheese was mushy and not particularly cheesy so we will skip that in the future. We came here on a recommendation after buying a truckload of trees and shrubs. To be honest, we weren't all that impressed at first. The place was empty and the menu "seemed" just okay but we both decided to order the lunch special, a salmon BLT with house made chips. Boy, our opinion changed immediately! I googled a good place to eat in Hiawassee and Lakeview Tavern popped up. I am so glad we came! My friend and I both got the shrimp and grits and oh my the flavor!!! What a great choice! We determined it was one of the best shrimp and grits platters we've eaten and there have been MANY choices to pick from. I have already invited my son from Nashville to make a date with his mom in November when he visits. Great job to Adam, our server and compliments to the chef. We have always enjoyed going to the Wednesday 99 cent wing day always a good atmosphere and service...but went there today to get an order of wings to go because my wife is home recovering from cancer treatments and is to weak to go out. My experience: High quality shrimp prepared by someone who knows how to get a good sear without overcooking. The blackening spices were Delicious! Broccoli needed seasoning but that was easy enough. We've been frequenting Lakeview since 2024. Every experience is consistent. Great service, clean open atmosphere with plenty of sports on TV if desired, and very good food and beverage. The beer selection is usually great and perfect cold temperature. Our recent server Harrison was phenomenal and treated us like friends. The manager came out to make sure everything was excellent. I'm absolutely appalled by the cruel and unprofessional behavior of the owner, Angie. My cousin had an amazing wedding in blue ridge and used lakeview tavern to cater. The attitude of the servers was abismal. We were only served one small slice of extremely fatty brisket, one vegetable skewer with about 5 bell peppers on each, or a small cut of trout. Whenever someone asked to try more than one of the main courses they were met with an extremely rude scoff and berating. The idea of only getting one main is completely fair, however the lack of substance was disappointing along with the horrible customer service. There were also multiple trays of appetizers that were never passed out and left out to spoil and the groom to clean the next morning. They had also agreed to clean the plates but when we returned to the venue the morning after for a family brunch, the plates were either stacked at their original tables- dirty or left in their spots where people had been sitting. All night. The invoice for the catering was sent the night before the wedding which in itself should indicate a scam. My cousin had also confirmed the amount of guests a month before the wedding day and was berated for being "over the amount". There was ONE extra person. And Angie used this as a reason for not cleaning up and even went as far as to shame the couple for being busy dancing at their wedding. When we arrived the next morning at 9am, the groom and friends were cleaning everything and the bride was in her cabin getting screamed at by Angie on the phone. Absolutely unprofessional and cruel. My cousin was called names and hung up on because she inquired about the cleanup. This business should never cater. Making the bride cry the morning after her wedding is absolutely unacceptable- all because they asked about the dirty dishes and food that had been left in the oven and out instead of put away. Here are some quotes from Angie's texts that give a great indication to her character and what her restaurant thinks is acceptable. "This will be my last time talking with you. If you wanted a five star restaurant, then maybe you should have paid for one instead of trying to penny pinch everyone to death." "we stayed and rinsed plates, charges, and silverware for over an hour while yall was dancing." (Despite being untrue since I witnessed the state of the reception the morning after and saw the groom cleaning dishes in the kitchen) "Yall also went over your numbers and we didn't say anything about that." (Again. There was ONE extra person) "Your guest also did not choose just one entree. You got what you paid for and more." (This is untrue because the entire family was told no to any more than the one slice or skewer) read more

It could be worse...but it could be a whole lot better that what we found on Sept. 23rd at 7pm. Food was so-so; the queso and chips were stiff and cool and the chips were stale. The trout was alright, but the sides were lacking anything in quality. The green beans were laced heavy with vinegar....but not balsamic vinegar; unedible. The loaded potato was a rip off for the extra $dollar. The chardonnay was alright. The service was unfortunate...new guy that had no idea on the wines; kept having to run back to the kitchen to answer any questions and although friendly enough, he hasn't quite learned the skills for wooing the customers so it doesn't come off patronizing. He'll get it with enough experience, but it was just a sad night at the lakeview given the universal issue with help in the kitchen and outside in the dining room. Ambiance.....it's a bar that serves food with the annoying big screens on each wall. Went in and placed a to go order. Was met and greeted at the stand by Adam. This was my first time here and Adam was very patient and helpful with my order. I ordered the fish and chips for me and chicken tenders and fries for my wife. Although they were very busy my order came out very quickly. It was a 5 minute drive to our AirBnb and the food was still hot and very delicious. They were recommended by our host and I wish we didn't wait until our last night. We have been there 3 times now. The first two times the chicken wings were excellent. Big, juicy, and yummy. Then we went Christmas Eve and were disappointed. The wings were small, overcooked and dry, and not much sauce on them. We will give it another try. read more

Disappointed! We came in after work and was greeted by a server who looked less than enthused about taking our table. (Maybe because we were still in our work clothes) A very basic menu of over priced bar food. My husband ordered the chicken tenders which were very overpriced for the 3 little chicken nuggets he received, fries were cold and limp. I ordered the blackened shrimp. Received 7 extremely overcooked rubber shrimp, okra was nothing spectacular looked like something out of the freezer section at the grocery store. Just an overall bad experience!
