FYI: This is going to be a long review / shout out to a specific employee Nicholas. I can't say…read morethank you enough to this guy. Here's some background on my story at Jackson's in Baker City, OR. I was driving cross country from Washington state to Georgia in my brand new Tesla. This was day one of a very longgg trip! Not only did my windshield crack but it started snowing non stop and I was defeated! So I stoped across the street from Jackson's that night to sleep at a supercharger. That morning I went ahead and let both my dogs go to the bathroom on a nice walk and saw that Jackson's had a car wash (oh did I mention I'm driving cross country with two large dogs and a cat!) I decided it was probably a good idea to wash all the snow salt and dirt off my car so I rearrange the car, get all the animals settled and off I go to the car wash. Little did I know, I left my iPad on THE ROOF of my car :-/ IDIOT!! (You were thinking it) I didn't even realize.. I went through the car wash like "oh look at my shiny new Tesla looking so pretty"... yeah.. that lasted for about two hours when I stopped at another supercharger and realized MY IPAD IS MISSING! I knew right away what had happened.. embarrassingly I call Jackson's.. Nick answers the phone and honestly I didn't even know what to say to him other than "this is going to sound dumb.. but I went through the car wash" and before I could finish he said "it's not stupid, your iPad?" Long story short, Nick was AMAZING! He took time and money out of his own pocket to send me back my iPad. Like who does that?!? He dealt with many phone calls from me and he even called me one night letting me know he had sent it out. If this isn't amazing customer service I'm not sure what is. Nick if you ever read this, thank you thank you thank you. This means so much to me and my husband. He just recently deployed and I use the iPad to FaceTime with him.

Bill is an absolute hero. A true stand-up guy. If you have any sort of mechanical problem and are…read moreanywhere near him, he is the guy to call! My road trip began in Chicago Illinois, and meandered for almost 2,500 Miles through some of the most beautiful places in the country. As I was approaching Baker City, Oregon, I found out that my gas was low. As I approached the first gas station that I could find, I noticed my car was making a horrible noise and it just got louder. I turned off the car and filled up the tank. When I started up the engine, the noise was even louder. Upon looking under the hood, I found out that the serpentine belt was askew. I assessed that this was the cause of the noise. I checked at the automotive shop across the street. They had nothing to help me. I jumped to my phone to see where I could get a serpentine belt for my 2003 Volvo XC70 in a small town in SE Oregon. First was NAPA Auto Parts... nope. Then I tried Carquest. The guy I talked to there said that he would have to track down the part, but that he might know a guy who could fix it. He connected me with Bill Steele of East Side Diesel. Bill had been at the Carquest picking up a part for another job. He came over to where I was at, checked out my car. He informed me that not only was the belt bad, but that also another bearing was bad. He found both parts and replaced them within 2 hours from the moment that I first spoke with him. He did an amazing job and only charged $200 for parts and labor. I felt like this was very fair. After all of this, he then left to fix the previously mentioned job. I can not stress how wonderful my experience with Bill and East Side Diesel was. He has 5 star reviews because he is that great.
