Driving through the area from AZ where we just picked up a motorhome. Had a low tire pressure show up and found Les Schwab and pulled in. A young gentleman came out and asked what our problem was and right away filled up the tires. He had to get a special adapter to get to the inside back tires. When we asked what the charge was, he said "no charge!" So kind and helpful! Did not get his name, but we appreciated his help! read more

I blew a tire while rounding a corner. Misjudged the newly installed curb cut. Ouch. After Superior Towing replaced my dead tire with the factory donut (no comment, It worked) I made my way to this shop. The team was knowledgeable. The service professional. The price....second ouch. Luckily, they had the size I needed since they were unable to repair the damaged tire. Conveniently located across the street from a landmark restaurant, I was able to get lunch while I waited. They called me when The car was ready to roll. Had the paperwork ready to sign and away I went. Les Schwab was founded by an Oregonian. Once noted for excellent customer service, the company was sold to an out of state corporation. This branch still kicks it out of the park. read more

I was hiking near Baker City and picked up a shard of metal in my tire while driving out from the trailhead, resulting in a flat in the middle of nowhere. Given that it was a Sunday afternoon, I thought I might end up camping where I was broken down until Monday. We were returning from a trip to our home north of Seattle, when our rear truck brakes encountered a serious problem in Lone Pine, CA. I thought I could carefully navigate our way home, but a mechanic in Baker City, OR, told me, "I would not drive another mile with those brakes. Me: "Oh, O.K." I called Jake, the store manager, and informed him of our problem, and that our brakes were under warranty from a complete brake repair job several weeks and 4,000 miles earlier. Jake told me to 'c'mon in and we'll take a look." Short version: Jake had to order a few parts, but then he and his team had everything reassembled and ready for us the following morning, and we (two dogs, cat, wife, and me) were on our way the following morning. Earlier this week I experienced a Les Schwab moment. I was broke down on busy i84 just outside Baker City in my Motorhome. My roadside assistance was unable to get me at help so Siri and I did our own search. We found Les Schwab. Gavin showed up to bail us out. He was kind, friendly, and most of all, very skilled. Had a flat on I-84 and was lucky enough to have just enough air to get to this Les Schwab center. It was Sunday so they were closed. But turns out they have an after hours help line. The guy answered the phone and was there in ten minutes to help me. Had me patched up and on the road in 30 minutes or less for $100. These guys never disappoint which is why I am loyal to them. read more

On our way to a weekend vacation in Wallowa Lake, my wife and I stopped in Baker City to look for some lunch. Upon driving through downtown we noticed a very loud squealing sound coming from one of our rental car's tires. It was definitely a scary thought being in a strange town in a rental car with an embarrassing sound. Thankfully I remembered a previous experience where a pebble got stuck in my parents' car and made a similar loud squealing sound while driving. I suggested we stop into the local Les Schwab to have it looked at. When we pulled up, everyone in the shop heard the squealing sound. One of the employees ran out and said, "I think I know why you're here." We explained that it was a rental car and weren't sure how or why it was making that sound. He invited us inside and got the car onto the lift almost immediately. The staff behind the counter understood our concerns and did such an amazing job making us feel comfortable. Sure enough, a rock pebble was found in the front passenger side's wheel well. It was promptly removed and the employees had us back on the road with no charge for the service. This experience is just another reason why we have been loyal Les Schwab customers for many years. Their pride and commitment to professional and friendly service is bar-none. read more

I am so impressed with Jake and the crew at this location. I am from out of town and busted a tire over the weekend. I was very skeptical and full of questions compliments of my local store. Jake was kind, helpful, and willing to do what needed to be done to make sure I could get home safe. I may not be happy with my local branch but would recommend the Baker City branch in a heartbeat. We were traveling on I-84 West in our RV when we had 2 tires blow out at the same time (dual wheels). Our first call was to AAA as we have RV roadside assistance, the response from AAA was "the earliest we can be there is in the morning", it was 730pm and they wanted us to wait on the side of the interstate all night. The next call was to Les Schwab Tires in Baker City, at 730 at night the call went through to their 'on call' guy Derek at his home. Derek opened the shop and got the tires we needed and was with us on the Interstate within 30 minutes. An expert tire guy and a real gentleman Derek had the 2 tires fitted and we were on our way promptly. The following morning we visited the store in Baker City and Derek checked out all the tires on the RV and he discovered the 2 front tires were starting to separate their treads. The guys at Les Schwab were fantastic had us safely on our way again within the hour. What great service from a fantastic team. Thank you Derek. read more

The Les Schwab crew went out of their way to help us when we were broken down ten miles out of town. They got us on the road and then finished the repair in the shop. Waiting for them to finish, we crossed the street to eat dinner. The mechanic at Les Schwab drove our truck (pulling a trailer) across to us and came in the restaurant to hand deliver the keys. A 5 star rating doesn't cover how I feel about the Les Schwab crew. read more

We blew a tire on a cattle trailer while loaded on 84, on Sunday. Les Schwab helped us out with prompt friendly emergency service got us back on the road as quickly as possible. Lost my brakes and bearings on my way to Portland from Denver. These folks had me back on the road in a few hours.

I ordered tires on line because Les Schwab did not have an all-terrain tire in the size needed for my Ford Escape. They would only mount and balance them for $40 per tire! Mounting and balancing for $160! I was between a rock and hard place and was at their mercy. I will NEVER use them again. It didn't matter that I had bought two sets of regular tires and two sets of studded tires for my other two cars over the last five years. I've also bought two sets of chains from them. I guess customer loyalty doesn't mean much to them. Don't use them, they will screw you too! read more

Terrible customer service. They're rude and try to sell overpriced new and used tires. They don't keep standard sizes in stock. Our car picked up a nail and the tire couldn't be saved. We were on a day road trip and needed it fixed. When we saw the price of one tire was $300, we told them no thank you, we'll go back to the dealership. The customer service rep at the desk got an attitude about us going back to our dealership and then continued to try and sell us used tires, which would not even fit our car. The $300 tire wasn't even in stock! How does that make sense? Selling us a tire that we would have to come back for when we don't live there? Our dealership sells the same tire for $155. I called to complain to the manager, who wasn't in, and spoke to someone else. He didn't apologize and just said he would let the gal , who "helped" us, know about the complaint. How does this fix the problem and when is the customer important? Atleast an apology would be nice. read more
