We enjoyed local restaurants, businesses geared toward freeway tourists and historical sites. With an 8 year old in tow we wanted some active playtime before loading up to head home. He had a blast! This park is clean, visitors clearly value this and are able to see garbage cans and use them! Hip hip Hooray a win for us all! Two shade covered play structures were a hit! Badminton net was in good shape, there seemed to be bourse shoe set up, a ball field with a stage in the outfield promised good fun! A dog park has its own Yelp Page. Skateboard basics , Basketball and More Restrooms located north of the dog park at first worried me... and perhaps there are hot summer days when they could be but the brick structure was not offensive! It is a safe park with two courthouses and the police department on the same street. You won't find a homeless problem here and no graffiti issues. Some of the things the park has to offer is a radio controlled car track, horseshoe pits, skate park, playgrounds, disc golf course, and even a fitness trail. The community has several functions in the park every year including a Veterans Day memorial event by the two big airplanes at the park's entrance. The park is open from sun up to sun set and several people use the park daily. The town does a great job in keeping the park up.

A few key things that make this Park stand out: THE STAFF: This on-site team is professional, friendly and quick to resolve any issues. Deya is a gem. She truly cares about the tenants and is always friendly and upbeat. Carlos keeps my grass green and is the first one to help me carry a heavy package if he sees me struggling to pull a package out of the mail center box. And Martin, he is on top of any maintenance issue I request-almost before I finish the sentence. THE FACILITIES: It is so convenient to have an on-site laundry. So much nicer than having to drive into town and deal with people vying for machines. And I was lucky enough to be able to host BINGO which enabled me to meet several of the tenants from all walks of life. They are a great bunch of people - definitely fun Bingo enthusiasts! THE LOCATION: This is the Pie'ce de Resistance! I have such a beautiful view. I am fortunate enough to be on the water. The sunrise/sunsets are incredible! Just having this view keeps me smiling and feeling upbeat. I thoroughly recommend this RV Resort to anyone wanting a beautiful, serene place to live or visit on weekends and holidays. That's right. This isn't just a roadside pit stop. It's a historic checkpoint with a purpose: keeping California's crops safe, thriving, and pest-free. Back in the day, agricultural quarantine was a big deal (still is, honestly), and this station is part of a frontline defense against invasive species, plant diseases, and any suspicious fruit hitching a ride across state lines. On 98% of my trips, they don't even stop you. Most crossings don't even have attendants in the booths. I do remember the few and rare occasions where you pull up, smile, and get ready to answer the question, "Are you carrying any fruits, vegetables, or plants today?" They're checking for the usual suspects: fruits, veggies, nursery stock, hay, firewood... basically anything that might be harboring a bug with bad intentions. It's serious business, but the staff here usually manage it with a friendly nod and a no-nonsense vibe that says: We love your road trip, just don't ruin our avocados. So while it's not a flashy tourist attraction, it is a quiet hero of California's agriculture game and a reminder that even the humble border station can have legacy, impact, and a whole lot of purpose. Over time it has transformed into a botanical garden and memorial for those who have passed on with ties to Quartzsite. While walking around the gardens I find the most unique things that people have done for their loved ones. If photography is your thing you will want to bring your camera. If sitting outside and reading is your thing you will want to bring a book. I would not really recommend this to be the place to bring the dog. Directions to get here are: Take Plymouth Rd north from the Town Park and just before you get to the Desert Flyers radio controlled airplane field you will see the signs posted with arrows directing you to the gardens.
