On Friday when a mobile auto detailer tried to bait and switch me by quoting me more than double his posted price, I decided to fall back on my old faithful, Terrible Herbst. The back story is: This auto detailed came out to the house said he needed to charge $375 for detailing instead of the $150 posted on his website because of the amount of dog hair in the carpet and explained a deep shampooing was needed to remove it all. To save some cash I took it in to Terrible Herbst. I've been going here for years but in Friday I thought I'd try something different. TH only does carwashes and not detailing, but was able to remove all the dog hair for $27 and a $10 tip! In addition to that they were kind enough to do it with a smile. When you pay for a car wash at the pump you get $0.20/gal off gas and a free fountain drink with the Gold Mine. Best of all the price is what's posted. read more

I went inside to pay for gas with cash, and the cashier put it to the wrong pump. I pressed the help button, and no help. After 4 mins i decided to go inside to tell her not a single employeee was upfront and a minute later she walked up front. When I told her that my gas is not pumping, she looked at the screen and responded that she didn't see it hesitant. I then asked her if she could fix the problem and she responded that there wasn't anything she could do and literally dismissed me. I asked her if there was a manager that she could call and she responded that there wasn't one. That someone else pumped and that I wasn't getting a refund for her mistake! When I I asked for a number, her and a gentlemen's secretively discussed what number she should give me like I couldn't hear them. I come to this chevron 5 days a week being that I work at in the same shopping center, and I am baffled by the poor customer service I received by Sharese and how she didn't bother in trying to help me. So I ended up having to pay for more gas and when I went inside to pay the second time, sharese and another employee where laughing at the incident. I'm furious and find it unfair being that I myself work customer service and I would never treat a customer the way I've been treated today. read more

I've been a fan of this particular Terrible's since it opened. It's conveniently located on Charleston, and it's ALWAYS open. The gas is a little pricey, but when it's 3AM, and you need gas, this is the best choice. Trust me. Plus, Costco is closed that late :) Inside is nice and clean. Decent selection of food and beer. They have a limited selection of wine too. The guys who do the oil changes are pretty fast and reliable. I've had my smog test done here for about $20. Friendly service. There is a sign on the door that says they are closed from 2 AM to 4 AM. I was there at 1:30 and pumped gas using a credit card. I require a receipt for my business so that I can write it off properly. The receipt didn't not print. I went to the door and it was locked and the girl was inside. I tried to speak to her through the door and she got mad at me and gave me a terrible attitude because I didn't speak to her nicely. I had a witness that saw that I didn't say anything I was just talking loudly because it was through the door. The girl was not nice at all. It is not my fault that the receipt paper doesn't work on the machine. I am not sure why but the customer service has been going down at this location, I am hoping that someone from corporate sees this and at least explains to their employees that customer service is important. I don't like putting less than a 5 star review but there should be a minimum standard of service in the service industry. Not my favorite gas station, but I'm always in the area so I fill up here frequently. Because there's a Costco, Best Buy, and other fun stuff nearby this station can get very busy. As a result, it can be a challenge to get in/out....I prefer empty gas stations, ha! The convenience store is your typical Terrible Herbst store with video poker machines and stuff. For the longest time I canceled my monthly car wash membership due to a crazy bad customer service interaction with the one that's located off of Flamingo & Arville. I am obsessed with having a clean car so the whole monthly membership thing works out for me and saves a lot of money. After paying so much for so little at other car washes I decided to return to Terribl'es with the hopes of not getting terrible service (no pun intended) lol. Came to this location this past weekend and what a success. The guys washing the cars were fast and efficient! What more can I ask from them? I stop and get gas here all the time and usually it is fine. Today.. not so much. The first pump I pulled up to was out out order but there wasn't a tag.. just the credit card reader electronic message which I didn't see until tank was open, I slid the card and it didn't work. I moved to another pump and started the gas going while hitting the windshield cleaner. Either someone had put way to much cleaner in (most stations have the opposite problem.. just water) or some jackass added something sticky because it was like wax smeared on my windshield. I got half way though the front window and realized it wasn't recoverable... and got in the car and turned on the wipers and spray to get of the sticky smeared stripes from the squeegee Ironically, the window wasn't all that dirty to start with so I left with a dirtier window and a lighter wallet. read more

First time at this car wash for just an outside wash. Multiple choices to pick from ranging from $5-$10. The $10 package was touted as the most "popular" package - so that's the one I went with. The wash is a standard drive-thru wash with a single track. All of the "services" that are provided with any of the packages are performed in the drive-thru. The reason for the 1-star is due to 2 things. Upon pulling out of the wash, there was no direction as to whether I was finished or not. There were two employees standing outside twirling towels like pizzas, not paying attention to cars coming out of the wash. Another employee walked up 2 minutes later and directed me towards the other 2 employees. When I pulled up they asked for my receipt and then said " you only bought the outside wash? you're done." Hmm. Hence the other reason for the 1-star is that, it is not detailed anywhere on the signage that the external washes are all AIR DRY. Seriously? For the same price I can go down the street to the AM PM and get a wax, towel dry, and tire shine. Sorry Terrible Herbst - your packages are terrible, your employees are terrible and now I feel terrible for having wasted 10 dollars at your car wash. Never again. read more

I have been going to this location for years... since it was opened and have been very happy. Today I went in for an oil change on my 2013 Ford F-150. They seem to have all new staff there? The technician quoted me $98 for a Synthetic Oil change. I questioned this price and said I have been coming here for years and I always get regular oil since I change my oil every 3000 miles. I told them the last time I was in I was charged $50 why are they forcing me now to go with synthetic. Both the technician and the manager informed me that this was the oil that was required for my truck. I asked why they're forcing me to use that product since I've never done this before and they informed me that I have never been at that location in the past??? As I was about to leave highly irritated when they finally offered to do an oil change with regular oil as long as I would sign a waiver releasing them from any responsibility??? I was forced to go elsewhere..... Is Terrible Herbst now trying to force customers to spend more money on Synthetic Oil or are they not properly training their new staff members??? read more

I only use this location for smog checks twice a year and a car wash every couple months. I always use a coupon for the smog check and I've always been in and out very quickly. The car wash really is a get what you pay for scenario. It can be hit or miss but the basic car wash is only $13 with a coupon so it's a fair price. This last weekend I went was actually one of the better washes and interior vacuums I have received. Too bad they didn't ring up my coupon but I did call and the manager said they would adjust the price next time. I don't think I've ever seen the popcorn machine on at this location working which I wouldn't mind munching on while waiting. read more

Let's start by saying the car wash it's self is great, cleans your car great. I have never had them hand dry or clean the inside of my car so I cannot speak on there performance. The employees who take your receipt and give you air freshener are very nice answer any questions and move you through quickly. The main complaint I have is when you pull into the wash, the people at the scrub your car right at the beginning of the wash are just LAZY I have been there 3xs in the past 2 weeks and there has been different people scrubbing my car, or should I say going through the motions. Half the time the don't do your windows or the back of your car. My guess is just POOR MANAGEMENT. I never see anyone inspecting work to ensure quality. I don't think I can recommend this place or I will ever go back again. read more

Rude people working in the store (to my kids) & the car wash sucked. I paid $15.00 so I know it wasn't going to be the greatest but when I walked around my car I was wiping dirt off with my hands. I showed the kid and asked him to redo things and he seemed as if it was a hassle. My rims basically looked like water was pored over them & not wiped... there were streaks on my windows and rims. Am not the type of patron to complain publicly but I thought this place can utilize my constructive criticism. What wasn't delivered again? Running board is all wet on both sides, water drippings on mirrors- top door sills and did not apply tire shine. This place has a lot of big trucks all the time. I usually visit this location for an exterior wash. I am not a big fan of Herbst stores because they generally fail at keeping the store stocked, faced, and clean. This is one of those stores. I rarely go inside... Gas from the pump. Car wash from the pump. Service at the car wash is usually very friendly and quick. Frustrating that they don't open the wash until 8am. read more

Fantastic car wash, friendly cashiers/employees and great prices! We stayed at the Red Rock and didn't have time to wash the car before our trip. We got their $19 car wash, which included the interior and exterior. Everyone was very friendly, even in the heat! Plus, unlike the car washes back home, they actually cleaned the interior pretty thoroughly. We accidentally left some magazines, a sun shade, etc in the backseat. Rather than cleaning around the stuff, they stacked everything up neatly and so they could vacuum the floor. They have a nice lobby with air conditioning while you wait. Their prices on food and drinks were pretty on par with other convenience stores. They even have gas and a small repair shop! read more

I never have high expectations for convenience stores/gas stations. Take my money with a smile and let me fill up my tank and that's 5 stars in my book. Why can't I get that here? Pros: Right next to the freeway Cons: Workers seems oblivious to customer service. I shouldn't loop all workers into this but it's bad. Example, it was 6am and a line had formed with people I assume are trying to get to work on time (I was). Three workers were standing behind the counter while a white haired gentlemen was counting receipts. They laughed among themselves and talked while never acknowledging the line of people forming. Finally after a few minutes of awkwardness someone in line asked what the problem was. The workers looked up with the expression of "oh I didn't see you there" as the white haired worker said oh it's going to be another 10-15 minutes?!?!?. Really? You were expecting a line to wait for 15 minutes while you played with the cash register? I along with the line immediately left to the gas station 1 min away. I just came here the other day to get my smog check and they always have coupons in the mailers that you can bring in to get discounts on a smog check or oil change. Good option to putting gas. If you are driving down Charleston, from Hualapai - you will pass by FOUR Terrible Herbst stations before you hit Red Rock. This one is convenient because it's next to a CVS and Albertsons. It is less busy than the Chevron across of Red Rock Casino, that is for sure! Never had an issue here. The station property is large so you aren't as crammed and never had any issues with the store, the pump or the air/water station. read more

I should have asked the prices before pulling in and parking my car because the guys immediately got to work. I found out that it would be over $100 for an oil change for my car because it needs European oil. Call me crazy but I've never paid more than $60 very strange that I would have to pay any more than this so I had to leave and not do business with this place. I was told by a friend that they paid 2499 for an oil change and the mechanic told me that 2499 was first smog check. Either way I will never be giving my business to this place I'd rather go to Ted Wayne's at least they give coupons for high mileage oil changes. read more

Not too happy with my interior cleaning.. parked & reminded them if they can please clean my trunk. Said they would take care of it, during the service i noticed there were two people working on my car but took them quite a while, a lot of conversing and even saw them standing around. Talking across the top hood of my car. When it was ready i double checked my trunk before i left, it was not touched! There was one bag in my trunk that was not moved at all to be vacuumed under & when i moved it to see, it was still dirty. Tried to find them to let them know, but nowhere to be found. Informed another worker & he quickly took care of it. Felt so bad to place my complaint in another workers hands who also had a vehicle to clean but took the time to vacuum up that part up for me and others they had missed. Every morning before work I stagger inside for some go go juice, snacks, what have you and no matter who is working, they are kind and friendly. Occasionally I may gas up the family truckster but by modus operandi here is usually snacks and caffeine. They also have a good selection of free mags here so you can keep up to date on events during breaks at work or lunch. This location has the best a drive-through car wash in the entire Valley. They have a monthly membership at $15 that allows you to take that basic drive-through car washes. I have a white Audi and I'm totally obsessed with keeping it clean. If I ever want shine on my tires I only paid $3 extra which I think it's a great deal. The car wash staff is very nice. At any given time you should expect at least 4 or 5 cars in line before it's your turn however it goes quite fast. I've never experienced any scratches or dents using this car wash... so that lets me know that they have breathed equipment to wash your car. The other plus to this location is that they have Chevron gas pumps. Their premium gas is never extremely expensive so I know that I'm getting a good car wash plus great gas in my vehicle. read more
