This place is lucky they are the only gas station / car wash / subway / food mart on the block. What a gold mine. However, I always leave shaking my head when I come here, and I only come here for emergencies. I try to avoid going here because it's a total sh*t show, especially during peak commute / business hours. I would say from 7am to 7pm is the worst time. Parking is very limited here with all sorts of people trying to pump gas, get a car wash or run in for snacks. It's a pain going in and getting out. I lost count of how many near accidents would happen when drivers are trying to pull out and they dont see oncoming traffic from the other lane. EVERYTHING is expensive here. From the gas, to the car washes, to the food. They were able to get away with charging an arm and a leg here for a long time because they really had no competition. I came in the other day because I needed a snack and a sports drink. An 8oz red bull almost cost me $4 (it was around $3.50 + tax). A simple sandwich is over $5, most of their protein bars and chips are over priced. Cashiers take forever, especially when they are in the middle of a shift change. I'm glad they have a Rotten Robbie down the street now. It's much roomier, less busy, less expensive and you save yourself alot of time and hassle. Chevron Gas Station with a great location on the busy Montague Expressway, near the I-880 ramps. I don't come here very often during the work week because there's way too much activity here. You will find a gas station, a food mart, Subway sandwich, carwash, and not enough parking. Yes, you can say it's just an average major brand gas station with average service. But they try to pack all kinds of products and services into one prime location. Then it's in a busy business park, along a major route that feeds interstate freeways. The last time I came here was on a Sunday evening. The lights were off and the place looked closed. There was only a FedEx truck getting flex fuel, so I went in to topoff. As soon as I pulled in, they turned on all the bright lights. Then 4-5 drivers showed up to get gas, and islands were jammed with cars. I suddenly remembered why I don't come here, it's hard to get out when it's busy. 3-stars for providing services in a prime location. I go to this particular location, because I drive along Montague Expressway a few times a week. That is probably the only reason. Why do I say that? It tends to get a little chaotic here. Let me list a few reasons why: Special "Hand Wash" available Subway Mr. Tint (Auto Tinting) Huge Food Mart Shoe Shining Service (Really?) If you glance at this list, it's pretty enticing right? But don't let it fool you. If you come here after work, you might as well drive off. There are so many damn cars waiting in line, you struggle just getting into the station. If you come on a Saturday morning like everyone else does, just make sure you bring your patience. Side notes: Gas prices here tend to be $.05 to $.10 higher than the average. The reason I like them is they have a car wash next to them. Not the drive thru one. But the people one. Very poor service and so rude manager :( I went on pump #3 and tried my credit card on this pump. It didn't work and said see cashier inside. I went inside and asked cashier to charge me for $60 on pump #3. I went to pump #3 and noticed that cashier did a mistake and charged me on pump #2. But surprisingly she said that she was sure that I said pump#2 ! Anyhow, I asked her to cancel transaction and enable it on pump#3. She made another mistake as I went to pump#3 and it was not working any more. Finally for the third time I went to another cashier and asked to cancel again and finally was able to fill my tank on pump#3. I asked for her manager and noticed the one who did double mistakes was the manager herself! I'm not so upset about the mistake since it happens specially in rush hours. What I'm upsetting about is the attitude she gave me in front of the others and keep insisting that me as a customer was wrong and I initially asked for pump #2 ! This is not nice and not customer oriented manner. The day after I checked my bank account and noticed I have been charged for $60 two times and I'm not sure if this double charge will be cleared in the coming days. I drive past this place all the time, and thought I'd check out why they command $4.19 per gallon for regular, possibly the highest priced station in the area. The place was real busy with most pumps occupied. Many were getting a hand car wash at the Premier Montague car wash, and others getting sandwiches or snacks at the half Subway, half convenience store. At least they keep the station clean, lots of paper towels and squeegees available. I just watched with amazement at everyone overpaying 30 cents more than they needed for gas with no regret. They also sell Propel's fuel products and have a Mr. Tint shop on site. read more

This is a review for the car wash. I would have gave it no stars, but it gets the one star for two reasons: one because Yelp doesn't allow zero stars and two because two car washers were smiley. I got the $20 packaged car wash. They have a lot of other different package deals, but they are way way over priced. Good: Quick 10-15 minute hand wash, free car scent with your wash, a lot of benches plus indoor seating for you to sit while you wait for your car to be done. Bad: Overpriced, it was a wash that I could have done myself, a lot of water marks left on my car, they're supposed to clean the inside as well and did a poor job on that, and if you have a black or dark car you can see a lottt of water marks on your car's body. Tips: Go around 2ish. In the morning, it may be packed so they'll rush on your car. If you go around 5:30+ they'll be tired and lazy. Only go here if you have something sticky or whatever spilled inside your car you're too lazy to clean..You can get the same outside clean look somewhere else for half the price. But overall tip..go somewhere else.It's really not worth it. read more

Was only here briefly, like everyone else, but noticed alot. Very clean. Subway inside is open 24 hours. At 3am, employee was tending to the food and everything looked fresh. Krispy Kreme donuts for sale. Car wash. Choice of either Pepsi products or Coke at the soda fountain. One odd thing I did notice was the flat screen television was tuned into a religious station where some person was "healing" (lol) people at the moment at it was being broadcast onto a very good sound surround sound type system in the store. Cheap prices, they have also car wash and a convenient Subway to grab a sandwich in case you have to do a long drive or just stop after putting some gas. Easy access and no transaction issues with rejected cards like in other Chevron stations. read more

Word to the wise: when the air hose has duct tape all over it and has lots of weird metal things sticking out of it, despite hoping for the best, just don't try it. Especially not on your already low-on-air tire. The PSI indicator kept badgering me, so when I finally couldn't take it anymore, I found myself at the nearest gas station which was this one. I thought, oh, great, this air pump is free! But my excitement started to wane when I saw the aforementioned duct tape craziness. But, eh, why judge a book by its cover? I connected the hose to my tire valve, trying to somehow guide the air into the tube by clutching tightly to the duct-taped portions when I saw, to my horror, that instead of INFLATING my tire, trying to work with this crazy contraption was quickly DEFLATING my tire. Now, I had a tire that looked like one of Dali's melted clock paintings on my hands. So I went inside to see if there were anyone who could help me. There was a person inside, for sure, but help, he definitely wasn't. Nope, it was just a little twerp who looked like he was about 12, with an attitude to match (you know, that of a tween talking to his mother), who told me the most profound thing when I explained my dilemma: "Yeah, that's 'cuz the air pump is broken." REALLY? I couldn't tell by the fact that my tire had basically deflated and looked like it had melted into the ground. He was extremely rude and unhelpful, and I'm not even sure he's qualified to work there, or anywhere for that matter. The only saving grace was the pair of guys working at the service spot right next to the station, who took a look at my tire and the air hose, and somehow between the two of them, were able to finesse enough air into my tire to fill it up again. I don't know if they're affiliated with the actual Chevron, but they seem leaps and bounds better than the dude I found inside. So, Chevron, what about you get your air pump fixed and hire some competent people to help behind the counter? Until then... I'll take my business elsewhere. Anywhere else, really. read more

This gas station is in severe need of new pumps. Some of the pumps can't be read because the displays are old and faded. Several times I have to go inside to pay instead of use the pump terminal to pay. I've complained and the attendants just acknowledge "everyone complains about it but the owner doesn't do anything". I came here to get gas and put air in my tire I don't use the pyre inflator and it is broken in multiple areas to wear when I go and play my tire just let all the air out. Now I'm stuck with a flat part of your patience. I asked the lady why the thing is it working if she says they fix it three times a week. A guy comes out to help me with it from the gas station car wash having a complete attitude like glaring at me the whole time almost as if he was getting Ready to fight me. He says the same people that ruin it all the time and there's no point in fixing it I reminded themThem by law they are required to have gas and water available for paying clients. This is not what I expect from a corporation. I believe chevron need to be aware that this is the lowest standard I've seen from any gas station to repair something three times a week and not just buy a new part so that clients aren't inconvenienced with a flat tire when they try to add a little bit of air to the tire. The shoe shine is about the only redeeming factor. Despite the higher than average prices, I often stop in for gas since it's on my usual route. Lately, though, the guys in the carwash are aggressively trying to sell windshield repairs. Even though I tell them immediately I'm not interested, they still try to sell you while you're filling your tank. I don't appreciate being hit with a hard sell while already paying a premium.... over and over again! Parking is also a problem here, which is to be expected when you cram 5 or 6 businesses in the same gas station. read more

Even though i filled in 1 gallon . As i drove out , my car was still running on fumes and my car stopped in 500 mts !!! I live down the street from this gas station. If I don't hit this one up, I'd have to drive over the 880 freeway, for the Vallero station on the other side (their coffee sucks). The gas is expensive here, so I'm not basing my review on the gas price. I'm giving them four stars because it's a convenient location for me, and the workers are always nice. Also, I've been getting my coffee here practically every morning. It's decent, and I don't have to worry about lines. However, they charge 2.00 for a medium coffee here, and I could get the same size for 1.60 at Starbucks; but, driving to Starbucks would be totally out of the way, and I've got a dozen other things to do in my morning ritual. In the end, I'll take my caffeine any way, and as quickly as I can get it. read more

I honestly do NOT understand why there is a person who rates this place the same as I am right now and yet... has 42 check-ins here? I have only been here - let's count... 4 times. and at THIS point. I will not EVER go back! 1st visit - got gas. paid & left - good stuff! lol 2nd visit - We were out of milk at work, so i ran in to get 2 gallons and came back to work. I vowed NEVER to return. 4th visit - Yesterday.... Wednesday after work my gas light was on in my car and I HAD to get gas there - it's the ONLY place between work and my exit at home. So I tried to drive in... but wait, construction (loud noise)?! Then, a big truck trying to get out blocking the driveway entrance?! I stopped with my signal waiting and confused. The guy backed up to let me in but THEN I see orange tape and cones all around the pumps... ohhh ok - people are getting gas on the OTHER side. So I figure out a way to get over there. I mean... I HAD TO! My car was OUT OF GAS? ugh. So i get over there. Turn off my car. Try to get gas and the machine I pulled into was off! OMG!!!!! It was so cramped and people were all angry trying to get to the 2 pumps that were working... I thought for sure I was going to wreck trying to get out. RIDICULOUS! I finally got out... and Thank god I didn't have to call AAA to come get me. I made it on fumes down 880 to N. First street 76 station.
