I innocently drive in to ask about getting an estimate for some car repairs, specifically ignition coils. I was taken to a very angry, extremely rude head mechanic. I told him a bit of my story (My engine light has been coming on for a time, going off, coming back on a week later...I got diagnostics at Autozone & they told me.."STOP! He STOPS ME MID SENTENCE SAYING "First, lady, $189 for DIAGNOSTICS before ANYTHING ELSE." He didn't hear the problem, he didn't hear the question...(whether they even WORKED on things like that there), he wouldn't talk AT ALL to me or answer a simple question regarding their services prior to HIM running diagnostics for $189 (!!!!) & being paid for that simple chore regardless of the outcome which I could do myself with a $25 gadget from Amazon & recently have had done free & politely at Autozone! I have thoughts on this exchange... I don't believe that is their/his actual policy. I feel it was ageism & a blatant attempt to SCAM the ELDERLY (ME). Obviously, that CANNOT be the policy for new customers or they wouldn't have any! This blatant lie & aggressive behavior was AGEISM at its most disgusting. He saw an elderly white lady out of her lane & took that "opportunity" to set out to IMMEDIATELY SCAM ME & to frighten me, as well. I did not fall off the turnip truck yesterday! He got the wrong old lady & there will very likely be a legal issue coming his way. What he did is illegal, not to mention immoral. I'm from MEMPHIS, sir. Your Italian superiority complex doesn't impress me, but I AM SERIOUSLY considering filing a formal complaint, if not a lawsuit, as you attempted (with multiple witnesses) to SCAM me, THE ELDERLY, which is very ILLEGAL in this country. Came in to do a smog check. Came in at 12 and was told the person working the shop had just left for lunch. They didn't return until 1:40 and when showing him the smog check coupon, immediately told me that didn't work here. Won't honor coupons and lazy shop. Go somewhere else, waste of time. read more

I got to the station a little past noon on Friday and had good timing that the technician could take me right away. He was friendly and professional and after doing the paperwork, they provide comfortable chairs in the shade while you wait. I have a 1997 sedan, and anything older than a 2000 is more costly than newer vehicles, but they were about thirty dollars less than the lower estimates of other smog stationsthat I checked in Campbell. I waited about 30 minutes and car was smogged and I am a happy camper! Highly recommend to go here for all thos reasons! read more

Terrible service and overcharging for a Smog Inspection. Gave me a bad impression of Chevron.

The staff and mechanics here were very friendly. I had a short wait because the mechanic was gone on break, but when we got back I was out of there in about 10 minutes. It may be a little bit more expensive than the mom and pop shops that offer smog testing but they were skilled in what they were doing and it went really smooth for me in submitting my smog to the DMV, especially since I haven't had to do this in 6 years. read more

I came there because they were the only place to do a smog check opened on Saturday and close to where I live. I felt very welcomed there, got a great service. When I told them I just bough this car (used), they performed some basic inspection. Also got a $10 discount at the end, which was very nice of them, because I already agreed to pay a higher price. read more

They did my smog, the were kind of busy, I guess it was because of the deal they had on their smog check, making them the cheapest deal last month, for smog check in the area. unfortunately something in my car got messed up (by them) they fixed it for free and they didn't charge me for smog check only the tax and state fees ($10) so I was happy. great ppl. also a very over-enthusiastic-energetic female attendant working at night!! lol read more

Nope. Don't go here. 1) It's more expensive. It can be as much as $109 for some older cars. They charged me $80, which is still $20-30 more than other places 2) They will fail you. When they do, they'll charge you $10 for the first retest and $50 for the second. They are nice enough guys, but I'm not sure they know what they are doing. They failed my car even after buying a new catalytic convertor. I took it to another shop, passed easily there, so ... draw your own conclusions. read more

Don't be fooled by the discount coupon for a smog check at this place if you don't drive "most cars", whatever that means. They wanted to charge me almost 2x what the coupon said it would cost. I wish I has seen James R.'s post before wasting my time going over there. Foxworthy Gas and Auto Repair has a similar coupon, which they actually honor -- go there instead for much better value and service. read more

I went in today to get my car smog checked. I had my two year old sone with me, so the quicker, the better. Mark--the mechanic and cashier at that time-- was super nice and helpful. I was out the door in 10 minutes. I was very happy with the experience overall--great customer service! read more
