Went to this gas station for a car wash expecting a quick and seamless experience but I ended up with the complete opposite. I waited over 30 minutes in line with only 5 cars ahead of me, the car wash takes VERY long and is outdated. I had a worker knock on my passenger window very roughly to indicate me to move forward once someone entered the car wash which is understandable but not even 5 seconds had passed and he startled my passenger. Clearly this car wash is a huge stress for him or these workers in general. Go elsewhere to get your car washed. Not worth the wait or price. read more

The vacuum as what the guy who works there mentioned the vacuum is going to give you five minutes, clearly it doesn't it give you less then a minute brought this to the guys attention as he says no one has complained before. Worst customer service EVER! Never had an issue until today whoever was working. I come here for the Tuesday special car wash. It's NEW YEARS EVE, I paid my $10, started to scrub my car with the brushes, about to go in and the machine doesn't start. Go back around, go inside and talk to the guy working and he says, you gotta pay $10 again because you took too long. I said what? I wasn't aware there was a time limit, I've been coming here for awhile and this has never happened. I asked if he can just give me a code or reimburse me the $10 so I can re purchase. He says no, it's already discounted $7 so you have to pay again. Seriously??? Cut me some slack dude! It's New Year's Eve and you can't give me my $10 back and I'd even re purchase! Been going here for a while but today is the WORST experience with the guy attendant who doesn't look like he wants to work there. He is better off being an angry CLOWN in the streets. Came in for a carwash, right when I came in to pay he's already got an attitude. They use to have that card if you get 4-5 carwash the next one is free, before I can even finish asking he was already saying no. After the carwash they have signs for a free vacuum and when I asked he said he already gave me the token for the vacuum, which he never did. The vacuum didn't even last 2mins. Possibly the most disrespectful gas station owner in San Jose. This gas station is where I always go to get my car washed, as their Ultimate wash has always left my car looking great. The Ultimate wash comes with a foam wash, rinse, polish, and wax. Today I paid $17 for the Ultimate, and after the foam wash and first rinse, the stoplight inside turned green momentarily and told me to move forward. I moved forward a couple of feet, and the stoplight turned red again and told me to stop. I thought this was strange, but at this point my car hadn't been polished, waxed, or dried, so I stopped to finish what I paid for. After driving out of the wash, the owner of the gas station was waiting for me in the parking lot, stopped me, then proceeded to accuse me of stealing the wash paid for by the car behind me. I tried to explain that it was a misunderstanding and that I didn't leave the car wash because it immediately told me to stop after telling me to move forward and that my car hadn't even been dried yet, but the owner just kept talking over me and angrily saying "do you not know how a car wash works?" The whole thing happened in front of a parking lot full of people who were all looking at me like I'd stolen something, so naturally I felt embarrassed. But after reading other reviews from customers who've had similar experiences with this man, I'm much more embarrassed for his family. read more

If you've got an hour to waste and some patience to spare for a subpar wash then this is the place for you. I went to get a car wash and after waiting 30 minutes it was my turn. I went in and had water hit my car then nothing. The person behind me got the attendant and the attendant had me move my car out of the wash, told me I didn't enter the number/pay and to go around and try again. I said no, I'd already been waiting and asked if I could back in for my turn. He said no. I then asked for a refund. He said "no refund!" I said that I didn't have time to wait in the line again. He said there was no line. I got back in line, waited for another 30 minutes. When I got to the part to enter the number again, he ripped my receipt out of my hand and told me I never entered it and would enter it for me. He then said he'd give me some money off my next wash. I have come to this place consistently for car wash only, and I have always only had good experiences. The price is quite decent roughly $10-15 depending on how many layers of wax or finish that you are looking for. Sometimes, the line does get long, especially during weekend afternoons, but if you come in the morning or during weekdays, there is often no wait or a very short line. I recommend middle-tier cleaning as it contains just enough cleaning with waxing to keep your car clean for weeks. You do have to come out of the car and put sope on your own wheels and back/front bumpers. Other than that, it is a fairly straightforward and easy carwash experience. Shell - Gas Stations Near Me - San Jose, California

I went here because this was the cheapest Shell on the way home. The machine said to pay inside so I went inside. I asked to put in money and use my card. I was on the phone so the cashier rushed me to click no for the on-screen option. I told him I had fuel rewards, but he kept saying to click no. After my card was charged I said again I had a phone number for rewards but he told me it was too late... I was like dude why did you keep telling me to click no then? So yeah, customer service could be improved here. Either he didn't want to have me use my discount, not sure if the discount affects his sales because Shell reimburses or offsets it or not, but if that was the case maybe he was just being lazy. There wasn't much service being requested, just to use my fuel rewards. I won't be going back. Saving a few since isn't worth it for the service I got. Unless my car was running on fumes or I was just robbed and had to go inside for help I would go here. I feel like if I was robbed they wouldn't help me either. read more

I went to get a car wash, I paid for it, got my ticket, and Patel said he would spray my car with the foam wash, I waited for 10 minutes, cars started piling up so I grabbed the foam wash sprayed myself and used it, he then came rushing out saying if I brake it it's coming out of his salary and his boss will be very mad and rushed my to go back and go through the car wash. I tried explaining to him that I waited and waited and did not want to hold the line since I didn't know when he would come out. I go inside the wash and I didn't get what I paid for. The car wash never dried my car like it was supposed to and Mr Patel told me to get out and he will give me another number and I have to go to the car wash again. Patel kept blaming me saying I did something wrong, when everything was working for everybody else. The water worked, the soap worked, but everything else didn't. I left this gas station feeling distasteful. If you value your time AND money don't ever come here. The gas station attendant made me wait 5 minutes for him inside while the inside was left unattended. Not only that, but i initially wanted just a vacuum and he told me that if I got the express car wash, it would come with free self vacuuming. After I had agreed, and paid, he gave me a coin for the vacuum. Let me just start off with saying I've seen better AND cleaner car washes. After I pulled up to the self vacuuming parking space, I inserted the coin he gave me and to my shock, it was not turning on. I went inside to ask for assistance and he proceeded to say, "you're the only one with this problem" "I get hundreds of customers and never heard them complain." For some reason, I could tell that he was implying that there was some thievery going on. I proceeded to tell him to look at the cameras and if he doesn't believe me, to come outside and check. I waited near the door because I thought he'd follow me back to the car, but instead he shoo'd me away and said "just go to your car i'll go there" I said okay. Once i got to the car, he followed right after and inserted a coin that looked awfully similar. I'm assuming that the coin he gave me got stuck and the coin he inserted right after got it to go in. This vacuum in particular looked SO old and he had the audacity to say once again, "See? You're the only one with this problem". So disrespectful. read more

Car wash Positives: There are soap bucket to prewash your wheels and bumper in the car wash. Negatives: The nine dollar option is EXTREMELY minimal! It only sprays water and soap on the car and does not scrub at all or dry it. It did not clean the car at all. Especially the back. Very disappointing! read more

This is the most disappointing gas station I have ever been to in my life. This is only the second time I have went to this Shell station so I could get gas and get my car washed both times the car wash has been down. If I knew the car wash was down I would have went some where else for gas. What a major disappointment. I WILL NEVER USE A SHELL STATION FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. I would rather push my car 10 miles in the rains and snow before I give Shell Oil a penny of my money. This station should never be patronized by anyone in the neighborhood. I paid $13 for the car wash but it broke down, so I go inside and tell the cashier and he acts like I'm lying saying that it's been working fine all morning and I'm the first person to complain about it. never thought I would be making a review for a gas station but line for the car wash was incredibly long, 3 cars ahead of me and it took almost an hour. I couldn't leave because there was a person in front of me and back, one lane, also the night shift worker, Joe? John? something with a J started spraying every car that was in line with the pre wash and telling them to drive forward, now imagine this your front window is filled with concentrated soap, you can't see and I can see the guy behind me wipe his windows with his wipers to see to drive forward and this not so smart guy who works there sprays his windows again and then knocks on his windows to move forward . I'm now the next person in line to get a car wash, I'm literally right next to it and he knocks on my window to move forward. I walk outside. I will be literally be inside the car wash while the car in front of me is getting washed and I look at him, like how much do you want me to forward, he then tells the other guy to literally move one inch next to my car and so on. everyone is yelling at this guy to shut up, so this goes to the front of the car wash and telling me to move forward and stop and so on, there's a giant light that says move forward, stop, and go back. this guy is either bored or something. plus side there a line waiting in the cashier for gas but this smart guy wants to direct traffic at a car wash. read more

When I complained to the employee working at the time, he said that you're supposed to fold your mirrors in during the wash. I would have never thought it would be possible to write a one star review for a gas station but the guy working there was an a$$holes. Don't give them your business. The pumps are hard to read. The pumps freeze up and don't give you any feedback. This is not too unusual but what is unusual is to be told that you are an idiot and to pull the handle to make the gas flow when one goes in to the attendant. (I am a 50 year old guy driving an older car, what do you think are the chances I have never pumped gas?). This was actually my second trip to the counter this visit. The first time I pulled up to a pump that had a sign on it that said "please pay inside". The attendant told me the pump was broken and to move. I stopped by here late one night to use the air pressure machine and ran across one of the rudest jerks I have ever met. After purchasing some gas, I then politely asked the attendant to clarify exactly where the key pad was located so that I could input the code to start the machine. He scowled and then loudly screamed at me "What did I tell you!! What did I tell you!!" (BTW, the key pad is located on the side of the machine and has faded keys and the area is poorly lit). My wife stared in utter fascination from inside the car when I then proceeded to spend the next minute screaming back at that a-hole to let him know how rude he was and how unacceptable his behavior was. Definitely the most terrible automatic car wash I have ever been to. It 'washed' with only water, no soap at all. When I went inside to complain, I was told repeatedly it was a 'clear soap' despite the wash description saying it is a 'foam wash'. The rubber brushes left scratches on my Infiniti because there was no lubrication other than from water. I got my money back after hassling the attendant sufficiently, which gave me no pleasure to do. I regret using this wash and will only go to touch free ones from now on. read more
