    I was referred to Chevyland Service Shop for my situation from a close family member who had previously had great experiences. Clay Morgan was the one who helped me today and he was amazing!! He was thorough, efficient, incredibly informative and helpful. I was in and out very quickly, with my problem resolved and additional questions all answered! I will be coming back and will recommend Clay to everyone I know. 10/10 I highly recommend going to Clay Morgan at the Chevyland Service Shop!

Thanks to YELP and internet searches, I found Ashley Automotive Repair, 318-841-0255, located at 870 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, LA 71118. Rusty was so nice and a what pleasure to speak with on the phone. I provided the auto year, make, model, part needed and Rusty was able to provide me with a great estimate on the repair costs. Rusty said it was a fairly simple repair and would not take long. How long would it take? Rusty said if she could come in now, they would have her out by closing time today! Yes, today. If not, come in tomorrow, and they would get her auto taking care of. That in itself if fantastic! Let me verify, I am definitely not a mechanic. However, I did watch several YouTube videos to educate myself in how much work and detail was involved in the repair. Depending on the year, make and model, it can be a fairly simple job... or a really hard, long process. Please note: I did in fact call another local business for the same exact repairs mentioned above. I was told to bring the auto in, leave it for a few days and they would try to make the repairs sometime by the END of next week. Cost? The price quoted was $300 HIGHER and could be more depending on what else might be discovered... For the same exact job... Thank you Ashley Automotive! You are the best.

    Avoid Mavis at All Costs…read more On 5/27/25, I brought my car to Mavis for new brake pads and rotors. When I picked it up, the brakes were worse than before--there was a loud metal grinding noise, the brake response felt unsafe, and the steering was suddenly off. None of these issues existed prior to the visit, and notably, Mavis made no mention of any other problems when they returned the car to me. I brought it back and was told--by the receptionist, not a mechanic--that the issue was my lower control arm. This was never mentioned during the original visit. When I asked for clarification or to speak with a manager, the receptionist became rude and refused to connect me with anyone else. I took the car to a trusted local garage, where they diagnosed the control arm issue and had to completely redo the brake job that Mavis had botched. I ended up paying twice--once for Mavis to make things worse, and again to get it fixed correctly. Despite all this, Mavis is refusing to fully refund me. They keep pointing to their "lifetime warranty" on the brake pads and rotors--as if I would ever trust them with my vehicle again. And if you get to the point of dealing with the regional manager, Don Harrison (737-389-6979), don't expect much. He either dodges your calls or talks down to you--especially if you're a woman. I was without a car for nearly two weeks, spent double what I should have, and was treated with complete disregard. Take your business anywhere else.

Broadmoor Garage was near my office and their hours of operation were fine. An old friend told me years ago that Broadmoor Garage did ALL of his auto work, and he was very pleased. Well, now I am too! I got to the shop around 11:40, the technician (the invoice shows her initials as "JE" - I think her name is Jamie) was knowledgeable and efficient. When she told me that I had a burned out brake light, I thought "Uh-oh, here comes the adder! Shame on me, I was just charged for the price of the bulb (no "installation cost"). I can highly recommend Broadmoor Garage - at least for state inspections - but I suspect that that level of service and efficiency can be found throughout the organization. By the way, I left just after noon...very nice! I just saw my review on Yelp; I am not from San Francisco - been in Shreveport for 43 years!

    They tried to charge me $529 to replace my transmission fluid on my 2021 Toyota 4runner. When I…read moreasked why it was so much, they brought it down to $470. I questioned it a bit more and they brought it down to $445. When I asked for an itemized receipt, the guy told me they don't do those, and got defensive asking if I was calling him a liar. In my experience, only a liar asks a question like that, and I've never gotten work done on my car without receiving an itemized receipt that breaks down the costs. I called Yokem Toyota to see how much it would cost to get the same thing done there, and they quoted me $403.49 to the penny. I'm from Texas and I've never been to a local shop that costs MORE than the DEALERSHIP. By no means am I saying to not go here, but definitely be careful if you're not trying to get scammed. It seems like they just make random numbers up off the top of their heads, then adjust it later if customers gets upset. I'm all for supporting small businesses, always have and always will, but not if I'm getting taken advantage of.
