It is located right off of a lake and is divided into two areas, one for small dogs (less than 35 pounds) and another for big dogs (35 pounds are more. Each area has benches and picnic tables under an awning. They also have water fountains where you can fill your dogs water bowl. In addition to that, there are little doggie obstacles in both areas like an A-frame ramp, and hurdle bars. The park is clean and well maintained. You must have your dog's tags before you are able to use it legally. It is a very nice park and has places to relax and enjoy the lake in the shade while your pooch plays. Currently, the big dog area is closed and only the small dog area is open. They also do not allow pitbulls or dogs under 4 months old This is definitely one of the better dog parks in the area and is worth a visit.

It felt really nice to be able to have a place for the doggies to play and run again. The water fountain inside the big dogs area finally got fixed. I love this park and am so thankful that it's open back to normal now. My dog loves his furry friends that frequently comes to this park too and I love walking around to get some exercise in while he plays. The park staff members that I've encountered through the pandemic so far have been nice, considerate, and helpful. Lately, this staff member has been opening the doors for us, that's so nice! Thank you Tropical Park and Bark Park employees! My dog and I appreciate you all!

On my first day of my Miami vacation, I NEEDED to get in the…read morewater. So, after a quick Google map search, I headed out to Matheson Hammock Park. While it's not your traditional beach, it certainly got the job done for me ‍ I honestly loved the lake like feel. The fact that there were small fishes grazing along the surf and the muddy like sand upon reaching the water (which definitely smoothed away some calluses while I swam)! It truly is a great beach for families with kids, something I learned there while entertaining a whole bunch of kiddos with my hula hoop (which I, personally, didn't mind since I love kids but wanted to give a heads up for anyone that's looking for something more kid free). Once the sun began to set, I grabbed some wine from the beach's restaurant. The wine was amazing and very reasonably priced but what was even BETTER? The song selection! I stayed a whole extra 30 minutes just to vibe out There couldn't have been a better way to start my vacation, honestly! I think it's more than worth it to visit this spot the next time you're in South Florida

I recently came to take some photos for a friend and the scene was an absolute dream. From the beautiful trees that make it look like a fairytale, to the lagoon that gives it the perfect Miami signature touch -- every area in the park is lovely, relaxing and the no service makes it an even better way to disconnect!

Kennedy was an attorney and politician who served as the Mayor of Miami from 1970 until 1973. Kennedy is credited with drafting the plans for the creation of Miami's Bicentennial Park which opened in 1976. David T. Kennedy Park is 20 acres and sits on the coastal mangrove shore of Biscayne Bay where there is access for kayaking and paddleboarding. Benches are set up so you can catch the sunrise and sunset and bay breeze. Park amenities include a dog park, open lawn, outdoor fitness equipment, picnic table, playground, and volleyball court. The expansive lawns, tree-lined walking paths, and a range of recreational facilities make this park a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Also in the park is A.C.'s Icees frozen lemonade truck selling refreshing treats near the parking lot. This frosted lemonade stand has been a park land mark since 1978. Even on the weekend, the park is spacious enough to never feel crowded. If there is one drawback, it would be the lack of parking during peak use time. Overall, David T. Kennedy Park is a fantastic representation of the Miami Dade Park system by combining relaxation and recreation in one beautiful location. Whether you're visiting for a few hours or spending the day, the park provides a welcoming recreational space for outdoor activities and leisurely enjoyment.

Shenandoah along with…read moreBryan Park, Silver Bluff, Vizcaya-Roads, Coral Gate, Parkdale-Lyndale, South Miami, Bryan Park, and Golden Pines make up the Coral Way neighborhood of Miami. Coral Way lies along Coral Way Road which was established by Coral Gables founder George E. Merrick during the 1920s. The Coral Way subdivisions contain a charming mix of Mission Revival Style architecture and bungalow homes from the 1920s, Art Deco style from the 1930s, and modest post-World War II homes. Shenandoah is one of the oldest areas in the city of Miami and its park is one of the most visited in the city. In 2014 Coca-Cola and the City of Miami teamed up to renovate Shenandoah Park to encourage people to be more active and embrace fitness. Coca-Cola donated more than $200,000 in a grant to help the city expand the park's playground, build an outdoor fitness equipment area and upgrade its tennis courts. In 2021 the City of Miami broke ground on a new aquatic center, basketball courts, soccer field, and fitness equipment. Other Shenandoah Park amenities include a playground, picnic tables, and racquetball court. The park also has a recreation center that offers after school programs, camps, youth programs, computers, and fitness classes while the Aquatics Center offers swim lessons, water aerobics, lap swimming, and recreational swim practice. This neighborhood park has something to appeal to every member of the community. The park space was so skillfully utilized to pack so much in. There is even a library adjacent to the park for even more recreational and cultural programs. It is also beautifully landscaped with public art. This is undoubtedly one of the nicest parks in Miami.

The only thing that could be improved is having a sign-in sheet or a system to track when people arrive and when they leave. A lot of players stay on the courts longer than the one-hour limit, which makes it frustrating for others who are waiting for their turn. A simple check-in/check-out system could make it more fair and enjoyable for everyone. Street parking is available

The park was created by the development firm Related Group who built the small park for the city in 2019 in exchange for closing NE 31st Street to allow construction of the new district. While it is a City of Miami park, it is maintained by the Paraiso District. There are approximately 7,000 residents living within a 10 minute walk to the park. While this is a park primarily used by area residents anyone is free to use it. Parking for Paraiso Park can be difficult to find but I found a metered spot a couple of blocks down the street. The main draw of this park is the stunning view of Biscayne Bay with a wide brick bay walk. The walkway is part of the Biscayne Line, a 10-mile waterfront promenade connecting Edgewater in the north with downtown Miami in the south. Next to the park and connected by the bay walk is the restaurant Amara at Paraiso, where diners can enjoy outdoor seating with bay breezes. Other park features include a popular dog park, public art, a children's playground with rope climber, benches, water fountain, and an exercise area with three Kompan Fitness Zone machines. I was really impressed by how much half an acre can hold while making the most of the breath taking view of Biscayne Bay.
