We went for lunch one day when the restaurant was quiet (only two other tables). It took nearly half an hour to have our order taken and, once we reached the hour point (so, when we should have been back), we still had no food. We inquired and it turned out the waitress hadn't even put in our order.
As she put in our order finally, she asked us what protein we wanted: we were a little dismayed and told her "we know we can change the protein but we chose these dishes based on the suggested protein in the menu, so just the exact ones on the menu" (the combos state proteins, e.g. Cashew shrimp, green curry chicken). When our orders arrived, we didn't get one thing right. One person at our table said we should tell her, while the rest of us screamed "no! We've been here an hour and a half; we have to get back. Eat whatever she brought." Thank goodness we're actually adventurous and world travellers who aren't usually picky Nor have special dietary needs, because not everyone could do that. Of course, one was extremely disappointed because she can't have seafood with her husband and now she got none.
The waitress came around and asked if we wanted dessert. We asked her what happened to the tapioca we pre-ordered with our combos. Two of us ordered her recommended mint tea with our dessert - we got green; the other two ordered coffees and the sweetener was so old and exposed to moisture, so it was no longer powder. We were just miserable and mad we didn't leave when someone had suggested it, instead of "she's new, she just a little slow."
Our waitress never apologized for the things she did, even when we told her or she was telling us of her error. Her supervisor, who we told things of as well, never apologized either. By the end, they couldn't even get our bills right: we discussed it amongst ourselves and said "just pay any bill that has something we ate, and we'll exchange money later." We wanted out of there.
A horrible lunch, no apologies and we had to work late. Great. read more
