Visiting my sister here in Austin from Boston. Hadn't had my brows done in a YEAR because i just cannot find anyone that consistently does a good job. And for $35 plus tip for a brow job, which is the average in Boston, it just wasn't worth it. I have full brows that are blonde so it isn't hard to ignore them whe they grow in. However, my sis is always honest with me....'you need some shaping to your brows have you ever had them threaded?' well. No. I have no idea what to expect or what the outcome might be. She insisted on making me an appt with Shiraz. Lovely, in home, clean and inviting, Shiraz warmly welcomed us in as if we were old friends. She got to work right away painlessly shaping my brows, telling me that is someone who is tthreading your brows is causing pain they are not doing it correctly. Good to know! In no time at all she hands me a mirrow and WOW don't my brows look lovely! And no red irriitated skin from hot wax. You can walk out and not have the world know you just got waxed. After chatting with her it is clear she is passionate about brows. Taught to her by her mom, she has years of experience. And, excuse me...? $12?! what an awesome price! Highly recommend, you won't be disapointed. I do believe that you must do the online appointments instead of trying to call for the easiest way to manage this process. I've decided to dedicate my first review to Shiraz. As a disclaimer, I am someone that's hard to please. I do not give her 5 stars to be nice, but I truly believe she deserves it. I sat down and told her I wanted them to be shaped, but not too thin. She made my eyebrows symmetrical (I thought this was impossible), and gave them a subtle arch suitable to my face. I couldn't gush enough about Shiraz. Today was my first appointment and I was a bit nervous, having never had waxing/threading done. Shiraz was warm, inviting, and every bit as nice as my coworker Ashley had said. The atmosphere is wonderful; the house is gorgeous inside and out, and the room where the threading is done is very relaxing. Shiraz works very quickly and efficiently, but she is extremely well-practiced and has such a good eye for your face shape. Least painful threading I've ever had, and brows look amazing. She kept a very nice natural arch and likely the most even my brows have ever been after threading. I also seem to have less irritation around my brows, probably because she was pretty gentle. I honestly thought she couldn't even be pulling hairs out with how little I felt it, but final results proved otherwise. Amazing job, and very sweet woman. Finally found my brow place in Austin. Shiraz is wonderful! I went to Shiraz to get my eyebrows threaded. I've had them waxed and plucked before but a friend of mine got hers threaded in Chicago and couldn't stop raving about how much better it was for days. So I decided to find a place here. I read reviews for a few different places on here but decided on Shiraz cause she was the only one without any negative reviews. After having my first appointment with her I realize why. She is so sweet and does a wonderful job in very little time and for a good price. It was the most comfortable I've felt in any "hair removal" situation in my life. Within a few minutes I felt like she was an old friend. The threading itself was painless. I'd been letting my eyebrows go wild for a few months in order to have them shaped so they were pretty out of control. Also I'm used to plucking my eyebrows so I'm not usually sensitive about having them tugged at but my friend had said it was very painful when she got hers done so I was preparing for at least a little bit of unpleasantness. However 10 pain free minutes after I laid down on Shiraz's table she was done. I didn't give her any direction about how I wanted my eyebrows to look but she made them perfect. Went for the first time and she's a fantastic threader -- very thorough and quick. Her demeanor is great too -- super friendly and sweet but not too much talking if you don't feel like it. Prices are the most reasonable I've found in Austin -- not quite as cheap as Dallas, but almost as cheap and better quality of service. She prefers online appointments but something is wrong with her website right now so I just called to make my appointment. Would highly recommend. 10/19/2012 ETA: I highly recommend that you e-mail for a first appointment as she gets back to e-mail more quickly than phone calls. Also, make sure you get an online account after your first appointment, or you'll end up like me and go months without being able to get in touch (again, the e-mail route is much better than phone calls in my experience). I emailed on Monday afternoon around 4pm, she called me around 530 that evening to set up an appointment for Wednesday for full face threading - brows, lip and chin/cheeks. I had never had this done - I've been waxing for 18 years. Shiraz is SO efficient, helpful and nice - I had no wait, the whole process, including her explaining what was to be done, took 15 minutes and the result is phenomenal.. While the sensation takes some getting used to*, it did not hurt except for the upper lip area - and that wasn't nearly as painful as getting the same area waxed. I have very sensitive skin and in the past I have had painful and ugly waxings - ripped skin, rashes, etc - never again; I will always thread from now on! *I compared the sensation to snapping a rubber band - it can sting a little, but didn't anywhere other than the lip. read more

Hi, I have been to almost every beauty parlor, big like Tara's and small ones they have at home but not satisfied with the service untill I found Chez shiraz. Shiraz is such a wonderful person and also such a perfectionist. I have a very sensitive skin and when I did threading at other places it used to irritate my skind, I used to get rashes and my eyes used to water..Today I went to shiraz expecting the same thing to happen and prepared for the pain..but it was just so painfree..Threading had never felt so good before....At all the other places, they mismatched the shape of the two eyebrows and I was never happy.
