I've had many massages over the years, and Brent provides some of the best bodywork I've ever had. Our session was about 2 hours and beyond just his skill and understanding of massage, he weaves in other elements that make the session feel like much more like an experience than just your run of the mill massage. He incorporated cupping, aromatherapy, singing bowls, and other techniques that made it feel like i was getting a full body detail . He's calm, grounded, and doesn't force conversation. He seems very attuned whether you want to chat or simply relax and enjoy the work. I left feeling deeply relaxed, restored, and genuinely cared for. Don't you hate it when you have someone you ALWAYS go to and then you move and have to start all over? Yup. Me. I'm that person. I was looking for a therapist who was knowledgeable, cares about what they are doing, LISTENS, and then works on the problems. If this is the kind of service you like - then search no more! Brent is amazing. Not only does he talk with you beforehand (instead of filling out useless paperwork that they never refer to) he takes notes and uses it while he works. He makes sure to note things before and after, and then the next time you come in he asks if anything has changed or what you would like to focus on. I have a hard time finding someone who will give me a true DEEP tissue. Pressing hard doesn't constitute a deep tissue. Usually my inside voice is saying "this is a deep tissue massage?" Not with Brent! He makes you laugh, cry, swear and want to slap your mama or anyone's mama! Brent isn't afraid to get in there and really work on something until it loosens up. Ahhhhhh yeahhhhh.... it was the first time in months, nay, years my quads actually felt loose. He asks about the pressure and if I needs more work on certain areas. I was looking for a massage therapist who could help me with some specific injury-related issues that had been causing muscle tension and pain for a long time. I went to several massage therapists in town before Brent and I didn't feel any significant, lasting changes. Fortunately, a friend recommended Brent. I figured I'd give him a try. During the first session I could feel the problematic muscles release in a way that I hadn't experienced before. He used techniques that I hadn't seen before, and they were effective. Afterwards I could clearly feel a shift in my physiology. I walked away from the session with less pain and imbalances. I got really lucky finding Brent. He has to be one of the most naturally capable massage therapists I've ever come across. Deep tissue massage is usually not that deep for me. Most people just aren't built to be able to work into the steely knots and tension I can accumulate. Brent had no such problem. He is a very big, strong human being....with tons of finesse and intuitive ability in his hands. He also has a lot of great knowledge about how the body works outside of basic anatomy. He has clearly studied the body through many different modalities. He offered me some suggestions for self care, including stretches, foods, and various other practices.
