Chi Chi's has the best spaghetti with marina sauce ever. I have been coming here since I was a small child and it never disappoints. They make their own spaghetti, making the flavor unique and delcious. Their sourdough hot rolls with alta dena butter tries to fill you up before the main course and their salads are always fresh and topped with garbanzo beans. The spaghetti is all you can eat lunch and dinner, but I have never needed seconds. Their spumoni ice cream is also quite the treat filled with cherries and pistachios. The atmosphere is also very pleasant with a dark, restful atmosphere and a window where you can watch pizzas being made. First of all, it's kind of a bother to drive over to this location because of the busy intersection. But sometimes it's worth it if you're craving pasta and pizza. I'm a fan of the simple: spaghetti with meat sauce. The portion is definitely big enough to share with someone. My dad and I also ordered a large pizza with sausage. There was enough to take almost half of it home. In a day and age when most pizzas come off conveyor belts, it's nice to have a more authentic pizza from Chi Chi's. I've been coming to chi chi's since I was a kid growing up in Santa Clarita in the 90s. I was back in town for the weekend and decided to pick up some food Sunday night. I came in and the restaurant was very loud and busy like it usually is and was greeted by a younger server "Gamaliel" at the take out window with his arms crossed just staring at me. I waited patiently because since he wasn't acknowledging me, I assumed he must be busy doing something else. He eventually said "did you need something?" and I responded yes I'd like to order something to go, I just assumed you were busy doing something else since you didn't even acknowledge me. He just said "oh okay what do you want?" I leaned into the glass and began to read my order to him from my phone. In my peripheral vision, I could see him still standing there not placing the order or writing anything down. I looked up and asked if something was wrong and he just replied "I can't hear anything you're saying" and I said "oh but you can hear me fine now?" He rolled his eyes and I just handed him my phone for him to take the order. He placed it and just said "twenty minutes" and turned around and walked away. I waited on the bench and watched him act rude and disrespectful to another woman and every other person who he came in contact with. There were other two female servers working the counter and they were all lovely and warm, but not Gamaliel. What I found the most interesting was he was stone faced and put-upon by every customer, but when he wasn't taking orders he was laughing with coworkers and on his phone. When my food was ready, a very friendly young woman brought it out and she thanked me for coming. I asked her "what is that guy's problem, he has such a nasty attitude?" and she laughed nervously and said "I know, we get that all the time" My advice to Gamaliel is if he is so miserable working with customers, he should do himself and everyone else a favor and find another line of work. He is giving this iconic, decades-old business a bad name and unfairly putting more work onto the shoulders of his coworkers who have to makeup for his nastiness and probably costing them tips as well. read more

We are regulars at this location and love the food usually. A couple of days ago we purchased Spaghetti and Lasagna to go. What a disappointment!! The lasagna was much smaller than usual. The spaghetti was an even greater disappointment. The noodles were so overcooked they broke when we served ourselves and they did not put near enough sauce. The noodles were white in the bottom of the pan. I know times are hard and you may have to cut corners, but give the customers a break too. Money is tight for us too. read more

Was told we had to go here for pizza while we were in town. I have a favorite place for pizza in Chicago that I go to and eat myself sick at and this was almost that good. I had the thin crust Hawaiian (pineapple belongs on pizza). Good amount of cheese, a little light on the sauce and the crust was crisp but not hard. The sauce is a little on the sweeter side and thin, but not bad. Tried a little bit of everyone's pizza and it was all excellent. Service was a little sparse, but being there with good friends didn't make the wait seem too long. read more

We've been going to this location for more than 40 years. While the food is delicious and can't be beat, the service is poor. The table wasn't "clean", just wiped with a film. The server was preoccupied, SITTING visiting in a booth with other guests while on duty. ( loud, & obnoxious guests.- it was difficult to hear or have a conversation over their volume) The server kept going back to that booth to visit & not engaging with other patrons. Ah, Chi Chi's.... Let me say I've lived in Santa Clarita my whole life other than when I was in school, and one of the few places I remember going as a wee lad was in fact Chi Chi's. I can honestly say that over my 23 years of being alive, I have been here at least 50 times, probably much more. I have been to both Santa Clarita locations over many years, and they are the same when it comes to quality of food, service, etc... so this review is relatable to both restaurants. For some reason, I have an odd obsession with this place. I tell all of my coworkers that if they ever find themselves in Santa Clarita, they have to try this restaurant. The experience starts with the rolls, which most of the time are fresh out of the oven, however sometimes you can get an older set, which you can always ask for fresh ones. They taste amazing for restaurant dinner rolls. I would rate them at the top of dinner rolls if I had to rank them. They go with everything you can eat. You can never have too many rolls! I almost always get the full sized antipasto salad, which is more than enough for two people. The meat is tasty, and the ranch is scrumptious mixed in with all of the other ingredients. You have to get the salad when you come. It pairs perfectly with anything you can order. Now for the entrees... my top two entrees are the shells with meat sauce and immigrant pizza. On the pizza is Canadian bacon and pineapple, which is an amazing combination. The sauce tastes fresh and the crust is cooked perfectly. As for the shells and meat sauce, who doesn't like traditional pasta? The sauce is what really makes it great. It reminds me of my Italian grandparent's meat sauce that they used to made. Great flavor, and not too strong. As you can tell, I really like this place. Why so much? I can't really say. But, I know that when I'm hungry, I can always trust Chi Chi's to satisfy my hunger. read more

We usually go to the Northridge location but we were in the area. What a mistake! My husband ordered the chicken ciabatta sandwich and found a worm in the pepperoncini. We called our server over and he took the plate to the back. Shortly after the manager, Claire, came over and told us she smushed the thing with her fingers and she didn't think it was a worm. OKAY...lol of course my husband didn't want to eat the rest of it, we're not blind or stupid. Thanks for the insult and poor customer service. The least she could have done was charged us for the half of the sandwich he ate. Nope, we were charged in full. I love Chi Chis pizza and while down here my family and I were excited to eat it again. Went in and got seated quickly by a nice host. After seating we looked at the menu, waited for someone to bring us at least water. We sat and talked and thought of what we were going to order. 10 min goes by and still no one to bring us water. I hailed a server and asked them to take our order or send someone. They responded with they would send someone. Another 10 min passed and we decided that 20 min was to long. So we up and left. I've been going here for over two decades. It's always been a family favorite. And this location has always been our favorite. It's an Italian restaurant with the best fried chicken you can get your hands on! The chicken is moist on the inside and incredibly crispy and flavorful on the outside. Their pizza is out of this world as well. They put the toppings on first and then cover them generously with melty cheese. Crispy thin crust and lots of flavor. We always start with an antipasto salad. Their dr sing is very vinegary, but that's what makes it special. Lastly, their ravioli with cream sauce is rich and wonderful! These are all our go to dishes. Always cooked perfectly and the flavors have remained the same for all these many years. The prices are a little higher than most restaurants in this category, but we've always felt it is worth it. If you have an opportunity to try this place, please do! We live out of state now, so we take a detour when visiting California to eat here. read more

This was our favorite place to eat. Despite the many mistakes, they are quick to resolve the issues. However, after getting our order through the drive through pickup, the toppings were all on 1/3 of the pizza. Liquid pooled on the cheese. I called them back and asked them if the would start another pizza as we will be bring them other back. The take out guy said it was our fault and we needed to speak to the manager. After waiting a few minutes, I was hung up on. I call back, I wait several more minutes only to have been cursed with the presence of manager Freddie on the line. I explained what happened, he said they check every pizza and our pizza was fine when it left the kitchen. I said if that was true, why have we had so many issues on the past? He said it was our fault. I said my husband is already on the way back with the pizza. Please just remake the pizza. He said, we'll see. He told my husband he was lying but remade the pizza. The pizza was undercooked hence, the liquid pooling on the crust. The new pizza is great and the cheese golden on top, unlike the first one. I understand the manager protecting his employees, and questioning me. I really do, I'm an ex restaurant manager and my Mom owned a restaurant. I never ask for anything free. I just ask our favorite places to fix the error after I pay and tip. I just want to have our favorite food and it done correctly. Telling the customer they are lying, not cool. I wonder why they only have a 3.5 star rating when the food is great and even though they are a pricey pizza place, they lack in customer kindness. We have ordered a pizza for pick up once and now have been there twice since they have opened and there pizza's have changed so much. There are thin no cheese hardly at all and and no toppings. I don't know what happened but we won't be back to get pizza thats for sure. They have really cut back on their pizzas and raised their prices. I haven't been here in a few years. Just never think about it. Last night we went to two other restaurants and the wait quite long. Got to Chi Chi's and got seated within 10 minutes. The server came over immediately to take out drink orders. Got myself a glass of Pinot Noir. Pretty decent selection of wines. All the pasta was homemade. My linguini and clams was perfectly made, pasta al dente the way I like it. We started with a delicious Caesar salad. My daughter and husbands pasta was very good as well. My son had a really good pizza. The only thing is he was almost done with his pizza before we got our food But other than that it was a perfect meal! We will be back! read more
