Love Chi Chi's pizza! It's not overly sauced which is my preference. We were seated quickly but the service itself was slow. It's fine. Our waiter was working a lot of tables and it looked like they could've been short staffed. He was nice though & attentive when he could be. The place itself is cramped and loud, something you'd expect with a family friendly pizzeria. Not a dealbreaker. My kid's loud so he fit right in. I recommend if you're in the SCV area.

Since 1975 I've been coming here for their pizza, pasta, salads and broasted chicken. For the first time in 50 years I ordered the chicken Parmesan. It was delicious and I feel bad that I never had had it before. My wife and I shared it and a small and apostle salad and everything was terrific. Leticia was our server, and she was very good.

After an absence of some 18 years since our first and only other visit to Chi Chi's, my wife suggested them for dinner tonight. That one prior visit was for takeout only and that was for a pizza which we thought had crust too thin for our liking. But one memory of Chi Chi's that has stayed with me all these years? Was a platter of their sizzling hot golden fried chicken as a waitress passed by with it, while we awaited our pizza. This was finally my chance to sample their Golden Pressure Fried Chicken, A La Carte; with Pressure Fried Potatoes and a Roll included. So that was my order to Raymon our server, as well as a lemonade. For her, it was a Ciabatta Chicken Sandwich. A very pleasant environment that has held up quite well through the years. Wait times can be a bit lengthy. But everything arrives piping hot and the large portion sizes help to justify the above average pricing. With half a chicken on my plate, I gladly shared. I finished two of my remaining pieces and saved one for lunch the following day. The verdict? Not bad, I must admit. Very well seasoned, almost on the verge of being overly. But okay. The pressured potatoes weren't bad either; I may have finished 1 1/2 of the I believe initial 4. While wifey just managed nearly half of her sandwich. Also lunch for tomorrow. Raymon was very responsive to our every request. And always with a delightful attitude. Even offering to refill my glass of lemonade. We could learn to put Chi Chi's in our mix. Why not? We've been regularly passing them by all these years, being that they're so close to home.

This is a large less four pieces

Been going to this restaurant my whole life! Well known in SCV for being a great Italian place, comfortable, welcoming, and most of the servers have been there forever and know you! All of the food is fresh, you can watch the open kitchen roll out pizza dough and cook. Fantastic for groups, families, dates etc. the portions are generous, come and get some wine or a pitcher of beer and pizza! I love their gluten free pizza, but all of their salads, pastas, and fried thicken is famous amongst my friends and family.

I've been coming to Piccola Trattoria for years, although I hadn't visited in quite some time…read more Coming back reminded me exactly why I fell in love with this restaurant in the first place. Graziella and her brother have created such a special dining experience. My favorite dish has always been the pistachio sauce ravioli. I didn't see it on the menu and mentioned how much I loved it, and Graziella was kind enough to make it for me anyway, explaining that it's now part of their rotating menu. That level of hospitality is rare and so appreciated. I usually never order ravioli as a main course anywhere else, but this dish is absolutely incredible and unlike any ravioli I've had. I was on a double date and convinced my friend to order the same dish because I couldn't stop talking about it. She absolutely loved it and understood immediately why it's my favorite. My fiancé and his cousin both ordered the lamb chops and couldn't stop raving about them. My fiancé substituted the seasonal vegetables for the arugula salad. He normally doesn't eat salad, but he finished the entire thing and said it was one of the best salads he's ever had. The dressing was amazing, and after trying it myself, I completely agreed. My fiancé's cousin, who I consider like a brother, was trying lamb chops for the first time and said he felt like he'd been missing out his whole life. I also ordered the Prickly Pear Margarita from the rotating cocktail menu and enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second one. The food was outstanding, but the atmosphere deserves recognition too. The patio is beautiful, romantic, and has such a relaxing ambiance. It was the perfect setting for a double date. After being away for a few years, I'm so glad I came back. The food, service, and hospitality were just as wonderful as I remembered. Piccola Trattoria remains one of my favorite restaurants, and I can't wait to return again soon.

The space is quite large, but a bit cramped. We were seated in a a patio-like space towards the back of the restaurant. We ordered the calamari, Mezzelune di Crostacei, and Tortelloni di Brasato. The calamari is highly recommended. It was fresh, lightly fried, and paired well with the sauce. The Mezzelune di Crostecei was amazing. The ravioli was perfectly cooked and the juices from the shrimp and scallop made it a perfect bite. The only disappointment was the Tortelloni di Brasato. The herb cream sauce was delicious and the pasta was perfectly cooked. However, the short rib filling was akin to a beef puree and several of the tortellonis had very little filling. Overall, I had a great experience and looking forward to try other menu items!

The pasta pomodoro had a few tomatoes and a ton of pasta, pure garlic flavor. The shrimp linguine had a ton of linguine and a few shrimp. To charge that much for each meal is ridiculous. You're drawn in by the familiar, comfortable design featuring mirrored signs with writing in Victorian style fonts that continue onto the menus. They have marble tables and counters, with comfortable chairs, and lots of light coming in through the windows. The staff is all smiles and very welcoming, happy to help you navigate the very interesting bill of fare, and making sure your cocktail is made exactly as you like. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar, and James took excellent care of me from start to finish. I asked for a Bombay Sapphire Martini with Olives; James immediately offered regular or blue cheese-stuffed olives, and asked if I preferred the martini shaken or stirred. The drink that emerged was well-balanced, cold and very tasty. The menu is filled with all sorts of interesting choices. Some are familiar items like salads and fishes and hamburgers or cheesesteak sandwiches done in their way -- but my eye immediately went to a very unique starter: Duck Fat Potato Confit. Say what? As James explained, it is a whole potato that has been slow cooked in duck fat (confit, as we know) and served as the main attraction in the dish as one might similarly feature a duck leg or short rib. I had to order this, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding dishes I've eaten in a long time. The aforementioned, slow-cooked potato initially appears a bit like a whole boiled potato, but looks are deceiving. Because of the cooking method, the potato holds it's consistency and shape much more than a boiled or baked potato, cutting almost like a protein. It's solid but tender, and as it has absorbed quite a bit of flavor during the cooking, this potato is far tastier on its own than those other iterations. But you are NOT eating this potato unadorned. Oh no, this potato is dressed with caramelized onions, smoky bacon lardons, wild mushrooms and a rich, very flavorful demi-glace. All together, you've layers upon layers of flavor that make you ignore all distractions and really concentrate on the pleasure you're getting from your food. But that's not all... Perhaps the cleverest element of a dish composed entirely of clever elements is the Mornay Sauce. Snow white, and with enough of just the right cheese to add texture to the Bechemel without becoming too powerful, the sauce is plated on the bottom, with the potato resting atop it. Visually, this looks like mashed potatoes served underneath a protein, and it plays the same role texturally -- but because you wouldn't serve potatoes with a potato, the sauce is a lighter accompaniment, whose flavor marries perfectly with the more complex sauce coming from above, and you cannot help but marvel at this stroke of culinary magic. Just wow. I finished with a dessert of Key Lime Budino, which was rich and creamy with a serious hit of sour from the Key Lime. A nice and refreshing shift after the savory richness of my entree. How lucky are the people of Newhall and Santa Clarita that they have a restaurant making such interesting and excellent food? I come up at least once a month for a music event, and how lucky am I to have discovered this place to eat beforehand? And by the way: if you live in the San Fernando Valley, this place is really less than 30 minutes away (without traffic), so the next time you're thinking of going over the hill to a place in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica, you may want to head North instead. I promise you, The Old Town Junction will become your new favorite.
