HAD been using Bren-Mark for 3 years, 2x / year. Called them the morning of Monday June 9, 2025 to…read moreset up an appointment. Was told 2-3 weeks. As other reviewer noted, they never give a day nor notify you they are coming the next day or on the way that day. They send a "Thank You!" card and receipt for $356 in mail which I received on Wednesday July 9, noting that they were there on Wednesday July 2, 2025. That was the first time that I had heard from them since 6/9/2025, as I did not see them at my house on July 2. The afternoon of Wednesday July 9, 2025 there was an afternoon downpour and I saw one the gutter over one of the downspouts overflowing like a toilet over the top on the second story, no water coming out of the bottom of the downspout at all. These are straight-line gutters leading to a downspout at the end; no complicated connections. I called Bren-Mark that afternoon and again the next day Thursday July 10 to explain the situation. They emailed pictures of a guy's legs / feet near some of the gutter areas. I emailed back to note which area of the end of the gutter/downspout I was talking about They never said whether they even checked the downspouts in the first place, never mind put a blower or small drain snake down them. I said that I needed them back right away as there was more rainstorms in the forecast soon. Never heard back / never saw them. On Monday July 14 I called another contractor in Highland gutters where the owner is the person who actually shows up to do the work, and a much lower price than Bren-Mark. They came gave me a set date and set 2 hour time window, which was early afternoon today Wednesday July 16 on the early side. They completely cleaned out that downspout, (which was BLOCKED SOLID with leaves and maple tree helicopter seeds) and the others, and checked / blew out the rest of the gutters. So I emailed Bren-Mark to not bother coming back. Sure enough, an afternoon downpour came this afternoon and had no problems; nothing over the gutters, downspouts flowing freely. Also found out that one of my recently installed bathroom fan roof vents was stomped on - probably from Big Foot, right? I had been collaborating with Frank Dixon regarding the roof replacement issues. I inquired whether Frank's company also handled porch work. Frank played a crucial role in organizing everything. On 5/22/2025 Manny and Julian arrived slightly before 8:30 AM. They informed me of their arrival at my residence. Manny and Julian took measurements for the materials, letting me know they would head to the store and return. They came back in about an hour. I am extremely pleased with the porch replacement. Additionally, I truly appreciated their professionalism and the respect they showed for my property during the construction process. She informed me the rep would be Marcus who called me later to confirm appt however there was a time discrepancy...rep stated 9a and he said all he had was 3p. I took the 3 tho I wanted an earlier appt. Before the date I received an email confirming the 9a time. I informed Marcus and he said it was a system glitch. Hmmm ok. He arrived on time for my appt which was 7/24/24. He took his time measuring, answering concerns, using contractor language I didn't know about. I had a couple of issues with the work protocol. A prior contractor informed me he would be replacing entire sections for the same price vs Nomach wanted to work around them for the same price. He went to his truck and wrote out proposals which took about 1 hour. I know my house needs a good tuckpointing job but on one side it's just a few areas, the other side needs a little more attention and the garage needs sum tlc all around the bottom 1/2 but $24,609.24 is outrageous to me. The prior contractor wanted the same. I understand they may be qualified to do the job but that is a good chunk of my income to pay for a job. I get why my neighbors and others do it the cheaper route. People have $25k just laying around? We talked about other jobs too like replacing my door frame in my garage, said he had to consult with someone else; adding gutters to my garage, replacing wood - $5,222.11.....should have used the other guy 2 years ago who said he would do the same for $2100; replacing 5 concrete stairs and not the landing - $9,717....another guy said $10k 2 remove everything and rebuild. I'm sure Nombach does good work but u gotta have money to deal with them. Not for the middle class folk like me.
