Currently my dog is being trained as a service dog, and I was ecstatic that I was able to get him started on his first task in my first session! I feel like they took great care in evaluating my dog for themselves and taking my own experience into consideration. I have been able to use things I've already taught my dog to further his training and it's even made me feel more confident as a dog handler. I love that they're a local business, and that they build a real connection with your pet. My dog who's usually aloof with people enjoys their company and even listens to them when I'm around which NEVER happens. I feel like their training methods are fair, and I like that they explain why they make suggestions for me. They're always willing to answer any of my dumb questions about their recommendations, without being condescending or holier than thou. I've enjoyed working with them so much I've already decided to do sports training and maybe even a board and train. Their prices are affordable which is an uncommon thing with training in chicago. I had a hard time finding someone within my budget, but I don't feel like I receive discount training. I feel like I don't have to be rich to provide training for my dog. All dogs can benefit from training (and all humans since it's usually us who has to make the biggest changes) and I'm so happy I found trainers I trust and can afford right in chicago. They are unethical (lied about the pup and breeder they were supposed to have been in contact with) and incredibly disorganized. They also tried to tell me that puppy raising board and train was equivalent to weekly in-house trainings. Nothing made any sense. I lost $3000 due to their "No refund policy" (they never even met the dog they were supposed to train), but I decided to cut my losses and run instead of staying with them and progressing with whatever program they were going to do. Please learn from my mistakes.

It was devastating to watch and scary to think that people would actually trust this guy to train their beloved pets. Dan's dog (who he continually referred to as an asshole) accidentally peed on the floor in an open area play space where all the dogs were urinating and defecating. All the other parents simply cleaned up after their dogs like responsible owners do. Dan, on the other hand, KICKED his poor dog in the side/stomach, screamed at him and proceeded to yank up violently three times on his pronged choke collar all while the poor dog was screeching and crying. Everyone in the room was aghast and couldn't believe what they had just witnessed. They approached Dan to tell him how awful he was treating his dog. Most offered tips on how to use positive reinforcement, but he just laughed at them and bragged about how his "techniques" are more effective. I guess breaking a dog's spirit is an effective technique, unfortunately it's also inhumane. Please KEEP AWAY from this animal abuser. He'll only show you how to hurt you dog creating a lack of trust and love between you and your baby.

About ten days ago I adopted a formerly homeless dog who had been at the city shelter for three…read moremonths. Predictably, he's very curious and distracted by anything and everything that moves when we are on walks. I was growing tired of having to pick him up and carry him away from other dogs, people, birds, rabbits, squirrels, and seagulls but didn't know where to begin. I did my research and reached out to Caz to help me get him comfortable walking around the neighborhood on his leash. She came over within a few days of contacting her to assess him, see what his issues might be, and how she could help him. A few days later she came back to take him on a training walk and afterwards I joined them for some training myself. He is by no means the perfect gentleman (yet!) but he is well on his way thanks to Caz's work with him. She helped me understand how I can enforce and maintain boundaries for him and our time outside has become much more pleasant for the both of us. He can maintain focus on his walks much better after only one session and we both look forward to working with her in the future.

However his lack of respect and customer service are going to do him in. I believe in starting with positives so let's start with what I liked. . . Walks with Lenny does not have a weekly walking minimum. This was perfect for our schedules and budget. Lenny was great at messaging us on Sunday to ask if we needed any services for the week. Jackie was the BEST dog walker--she communicated really nicely and told us when she arrived and left our home. She was wonderful. On to the not-so-good. . . When I first met Lenny, what I liked about his business is that he assured me that there would only be one dog walker (himself) and on occasion (if he was tied up or on vacation) one other assistant. He clearly stated this is what sets Walks with Lenny apart from other dog walking businesses: "You would always have the same person. You're not going to have a different person walking into your home." Why is it that Lenny never entered our home? And that we had FOUR DIFFERENT walkers enter our home? Every time someone entered, we received another call to give permission to the new walker whom we never met. One other person I get, but FOUR?! The other thing I did not appreciate about Lenny was the lack of customer service and respect he had. It always seemed that Lenny was never at fault and he would use A LOT OF CAPS to get his point across, which just comes off as though you are yelling/trying to make a point/rude. Example. . . Our last encounter was not a pleasant one. We were out-of-town and hired Lenny to do a day walk while our friend who was home-sitting was at work. I requested the walker be there between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.. So I found it surprising when Lenny messages me at 1:45 p.m. saying that the (new) walker was having issues getting into our place. The two keys that were given to her were not working. We called our front desk and they assured us that she was able to get in on the second key, so why Lenny reached out? I am not sure. I am not an innocent party. . . I was beyond frustrated with Lenny because of the way he replied to me after I stated that no one had ever had a problem getting in our door. He replied with, "I understand that. But we are having one NOW." **Mind you, the walker was already in after getting the 2nd key**I asked Lenny to talk nicely please and ask the dog walker to go to the front desk for help ASAP because a) my dog should have been walked maximum 45 minutes ago and he still didn't address the issue, and cap letters via text, email or review are yelling. He then proceeded to tell me the problem of the 2nd key and I asked him to please stop arguing with me. This wasn't the first time we had a conversation like this. . . I just never spoke up about his rude texts/manners. I regret I never did because maybe it wouldn't have gone this far--I blame the wine tasting :). The outcome. . . Lenny then replies back with the following text which can be see in the photos section. If you can't see it here is what he said, "You know what Vanessa? I am NOT arguing with you. I am rebutting your insinuation she wasn't smart enough to go downstairs and ask for help. Now, Lady will be walked today FREE of charge but I/we are not walking her again after today." And as you can see, I was perfectly okay with that. Obviously, Lenny does not need customers nor does he care to keep them on. That's not good customer service. By the way, this was our FIRST and ONLY (I am yelling :P) confrontation. Since then (4/26/14), we have hired a new dog walker and they have entered our place twice with no problems, we have received photos and texts for when they go, and we have met the other dog walker who would possibly enter our home. **FYI--I apologize as I did not proof read this**

I thanked him and we got to talking about how he has been out of work during COVID, but he noticed my mask, which has puppies on it, and felt motivated to do something kind. He explained that he's been supporting all his local people and businesses even though he hasn't been receiving any business himself. While I don't have a dog to support Lenny myself, I want to spread the good word about Him! What a nice man. There was a Great Dane in front of him in line, and the two had an instant bond. I would definitely recommend this local awesome guy!!

My dog was so happy and comfortable around Steve. Gloria is just six months and it was her second time being groomed. Steve walked me through his process, picked her up for me, texted me during the session and also sent a check in photo. Steve is so great with communication and keeps you thoroughly updated. As far as the day goes, he picked her up around 1140 and was complete by about 2pm. He dropped her off for me and we talked about next steps and future grooming sessions. He also provided us with 3 different hair styles based off of areas he trimmed within her coat. This way I could see what length we liked best for the future. He was truly delightful, pleasant, punctual and very talented. My pooch barely wanted to leave him....she loved him! Will definitely use his services in the future, including his dog walking . Cannot thank him enough for a great experience. He truly is the perfect combination of what I've been looking for in a groomer and walker. Beyond convenient! Pick up and drop off, loves animals.
