I am writing to share my excellent experiences at the Chicago Marriott Naperville, which has become my go-to hotel when visiting the Chicago area. The hotel consistently accommodates all of my needs for business and leisure. The entire staff provides superior service, from a seamless check-in process to maintaining excellent cleanliness, comfort, and restaurant options. I particularly want to commend GINA at the lobby bar. After a long day, she consistently delivers exceptional customer service, greeting guests with a welcoming smile and ensuring a relaxing dining experience. Furthermore, her service is always prompt, efficient, and attentive. GINA is truly magnificent. This hotel has been the "centerpiece" of Naperville for a long time on Diehl Road near the highway. Before becoming the Marriott, the hotel was a holiday Inn Select. Marriott purchased the building in December 2010 and renovated it when purchased. Being a former resident of Naperville, I frequent this hotel for various events-- weddings, birthday parts, religious events, etc. With that said, this is the first time I have stayed at this hotel. The lobby looks the same as I recall. There are some slight modifications: the addition of a Starbucks, the check in counter moved, and some decor differences. The lobby is not really inviting: it's a mass open space that is dark and littered with a lot of furniture. The lobby could use some updating again to make it a cozy sleeky environment that you want to grab a drink in. So how are the rooms? Being an ambassador with Marriott we were treated to an upgrade. The room was very big with a seating areas as you walked in. Plus we were provided a welcome gift that consist of a small bottle of alcohol, chocolate pretzels and a note. It was a nice welcome gift. The bed was super comfy with the blankets-- part of the marriott collection. The room had everything one could need for business purpose-- good side desk, ample seating and storage areas. The bathroom was a good size as well- the shower had good water pressure and was hot. The room good use a good update to make it a bit more modern. The room seemed outdated but was clean. We were offered free breakfast-- first of all the breakfast areas needs some updating. Like the lobby and bedroom, no work has been done on this hotel since the initial renovation from Marriott. So again, the space was dark, the chairs were damage and just not an inviting seating. The food was ok, nothing was beyond average. Our table setting had two dirty items- my juice glass had lipstick and the creamer had something floating in it-- yuck. The server addressed it right away. The staff was very attentive in the restaurant-- thank you for your service. I would not pay to eat here, but given the meal was free-- it was good enough. As for parking-- the hotel has a very large convenient parking lot. The hotel is a good location to access the highway or to get to downtown Naperville. read more

We stayed at the Chicago Marriott Naperville and had a very good experience overall. The room was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located for everything we needed to do in the area. The front desk staff were consistently friendly and helpful, even with at least three weddings taking place that weekend. Despite how busy the hotel was, staff had no trouble directing us where we needed to go. Parking was easy and straightforward. My only challenge was related to allergies. I'm allergic to down, and this property uses down bedding throughout. Even when I requested polyfill pillows, it didn't fully solve the problem since the down remains in the room. If the hotel offered a fully down-free room option, it would make a big difference for guests with similar sensitivities. Aside from that, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay, earning a solid four stars. read more

The Marriott Naperville always delivers. I have stayed here several times and really like the location and the easy parking. The rooms are clean, modern, and spacious, and what makes it feel different from other hotels is how quiet and relaxing it is even when the lobby is busy. The highlight for me is the hot tub. I love relaxing there at the end of the day, and it stays open until 11pm, which is perfect since I usually get back late. The staff is friendly and there is plenty to do around the hotel. read more

Spacious and clean room. The staffs at front counter was friendly when I checked in. The bed was comfortable. Clean white sheets and white comforter. Hotel located across the street from a group of restaurants which made it convenient to walk to for dinner while I was there. Hotel lobby had a bar, coffee shop and plenty of seating area. The night we were there, they had music down in the lobby about 9pm. There was a gym and pool on the premise but I did not use it. read more

I utilized this hotel for our wedding hotel block. This is a large hotel with many rooms, conference rooms, and parking. It is convenient to I88 and local restaurants. Inside the hotel there is a bar and Starbucks. During the afternoon, we had to ask the front desk to find the bartender. The hotel room didn't have a safe. There is a master safe at the front desk, but I didn't feel comfortable with utilizing that. I didn't find the pillows to be very comfortable. Hot water got suuuuuper hot. I had a suite, and it was pretty spacious. I was able to have both a hair and makeup artist in the room at the same time and had enough space. Decent hotel if in the area. read more

My stay at the Chicago Marriott Naperville has truly been amazing. This hotel deserves every bit of a 10/10 review. From the front desk to housekeeping, maintenance, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management everyone here works so hard and treats guests with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. I especially want to recognize Christiana, the manager. She has been so thoughtful, caring, and always smiling. You can tell she takes pride in her team and knows exactly how to run a front desk with excellence. Everyone is always professional, welcoming, and put together, and that reflects great leadership. She deserves an award for all of her hard work and dedication because she truly makes guests feel valued and comfortable. Jadah is another standout. She is always smiling no matter what and has such positive energy. She's constantly recommending fun places in the area and gets excited talking about local events and things to do. She makes guests feel welcomed immediately and brings such a fun and uplifting atmosphere to the hotel. Keren went above and beyond for me and my two kids during a minor inconvenience I experienced. Not only did she help immediately with kindness and patience, but she also checked on us the next day to make sure we were okay. That level of compassion and hospitality meant so much to me. Jose is hilarious and always brings good energy. He's always laughing, ready to help, and recommending great restaurants and food spots around town. He honestly makes the hotel feel like family. Jenet is such a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. She is always smiling, always happy, and always ready to help every guest with patience and respect. Even when there's a long line, she keeps everything moving smoothly while still making every guest feel important and valued. That kind of service is rare. Meagan Chase is another sweetheart. She's always smiling, always stylish, and always happy to help. Whether I needed extra blankets, housekeeping, or anything for the room, she always made sure I was taken care of. Alicia has also been incredibly helpful anytime I've needed assistance or maintenance support. The housekeeping staff deserves recognition too. I don't know all of their names, but they work so hard. They are kind, respectful, constantly cleaning, and always making sure everything feels fresh, safe, and comfortable for guests. Maintenance staff Julio and Will were both very nice and quick to help whenever needed. Jason is super cool, Jeff is very kind, and Alfonso is quiet but always smiling and helpful whenever he's around. Gina from the bar are wonderful as well friendly, attentive, and always creating a welcoming environment. The bartending and kitchen staff overall have been excellent throughout my stay. This hotel truly stands out because of the people. There may be many hotels nearby, but the kindness, professionalism, teamwork, and hospitality here make this place special. Extremely disappointed in this Marriott management. I have been staying in Marriott properties for travel sports for over 17 years. NEVER once have I had an issue modifying my reservation for a stay and play event. I called 3 days prior to my reservation to change reservation from 2 to 1 because the tournament changed our schedule and I don't need the extra night. I have talked with management and they are unwilling to change the reservation. Upper Marriott executives should look into the management of this location. If this location is so hard up to take peoples money this is one example of do things better for your customer. read more

This full service Marriott is close to our home and we have recommended the restaurant in the main lobby level, the Great Room Lounge, many times for a delicious meal and pleasantly quiet ambiance. Tonight there was an Indian wedding in the nearby ballroom, and although very festive, did not bother us at all having dinner in the Great Room. The menu has many good choices, the wine and liquor choices are varied, the service is friendly and efficient, and the entrees are delicious, as expected in a Marriott. No overpowering piped in music to annoy you as you'd have at an enclosed restaurant. There are many restaurants in this area, but if I want to enjoy conversation and fellowship while eating, I'd rather come here. read more

We threw our mom a surprised birthday celebration for her 70th birthday here. Before the event, we had told them that a few of our guests have allergies to nuts, dairy, and eggs. We made them aware of the allergies in the email they told us that the only allergy food that will served were cheesecake and ranch dressing for the salad. Unfortunately, my son had an allergic reaction from the food he ate which was a dinner roll. We don't know what was in it. He eats bread and he never had any allergy reaction. My other son and a few people had a stomach ache from the food as well. This all happened during dinner time when food was being served. My 2 kids started throwing up. One ended up in the ER because he had hives all over his body and fainted in the hotel room. ER came and 2 of the Marriott workers were in the hallway or by our hotel room. I guess to see what happened. What pissed me off was the next day, they didn't even bother checking up to see how we were doing. The coordinator did email us to check up on us the following Monday but it took me months to reply because I was just pissed and traumatized with what happened to my son. When my son fainted in our hotel room and lips turned pale, I really thought I was going to lose him. My son and I missed half of my mom's special day plus medical bills. Still to this day, every time I think about it was and will always will be a traumatic event for me because I thought I was really going to lose my son. read more

I've been staying at this Marriott quite frequently for business trips. While the location is great and there are great advertised amenities the property is outdated, customer services is inconsistent and management is passive when concerns are raised. The gym is overcrowded with outdated equipment that is dusty and rusted over and other than the towels being stocked possibly once a week I don't think it's cleaned often during my most recent stay the glass mirror was shattered and for two days glass shards were left on the floor with a caution cone over them this was a Hazard for anyone who wanted to workout as the space is already extremely small. The lounge is stocked with water and two kinds of soda only the fruit is often bad and the area with peanuts is usually empty or a mess. The food that is offered from 5:30-7 is usually not a very tasty selection (only two warm options, geese and crackers and possibly a fruit tray). The rooms are also not well kept the sheets and needing are dingy and have dark streaks and marks on them I asked for my bedding to be changed and it never was. The bathrooms are too tight for an adult to move around comfortably and lastly don't ever move your nightstand to put anything in the amount of dust you will find will ale you sick to your stomach. I hope this Marriott can do some deep deep cleaning because of the location the property definitely has potential . read more

Visited this hotel again and this time stayed as a guest (see my previous review for our experience using the hotel for a multi-day catered conference/meeting location). The room was clean and the beds are very comfortable. I'm dinging them a star for a few reasons: -room has a mini-fridge, but no microwave, which was a minor irritation if you want to have leftovers but have to eat them cold -As soon as I got to my room in mud-afternoon I called housekeeping and asked them to bring up some additional coffee pods (because they only give you one regular & one decaf coffee pod each day, unless you leave them a note asking for more and then they will gladly give you extra). I waited over an hour for someone to bring them and she was very apologetic it took so long. -The walls are not very sound-proof. I could easily hear the person in the room next to me not only talking on the phone, but I could actually hear when they opened their curtains and when they switched off the bedside lamp (and no, I don't have super-hearing). Last year our group from work stayed at the Marriott in Downers Grove and we all agreed we preferred that location. I have stayed at many Marriott hotels, but please beware of Marriott Naperville. At checkout recently, I requested a copy of my bill to be sent by email, which has never been an issue at other Marriott locations, however was a huge mistake at Marriott Naperville. After erroneous charges appeared on my credit card, I have now made 3 requests for a copy of the bill, including an email request to customer service and 3 calls to their accounting department. Next contact will be to Investor Relations. This location needs a detailed audit for unfair and deceptive trade practices. read more

Hotel is well run. Staff is friendly and helpful and quick to respond to issues. Maintenance is, quick and unseen. Food at the breakfast spot is good and buffet staff is great! Tuesday night live entertainment, brentbrownmusic.com , was refreshing and easy to listen to for hours. Open floorplan bar, restaurant, lobby and lounge, gives you more of a nightclub vibe in the evening... Its 9 o'clock on a Tuesday and there's probably 80 people hanging out, enjoying the music, dining, and drinking... Marriott is doing something right.. read more

I came here for an expo, not to spend the night in the hotel. Several expos were running simultaneously today, so I can conclude this is a popular mini-convention venue. The expos had plenty of tables, linen, and kitchen equipment. That's good. Hotel guests have access to computers, a fitness center, and indoor swimming pools. I saw people running around in wet towels and having fun. Also, there is a full Starbucks in the lobby, plus an overpriced wine bar ($16 per glass, $32-60 per bottle). Whew, now that's a mark-up! I'm a loyal Marriott fan, so usually I'm pretty biased. I generally like them all around. This was just as I expected except for one thing. The staff was great. Location was all that I wanted. Amenities were good and the bed was awesome. For the life of me I thought I was stuck in the world of the movie "Elf". Only I was Eddy living at the North Pole. The room around the room was "tiny" (I so wish I could have changed the font size on that one). Bathroom was small, but not tight. I thought I had at least some points, but if this is the starter at a full Marriott I'm surprised. It's not like we were in downtown Chicago, Tokyo or San Francisco either. Oh well, it was a nice enough stay, but don't go if you are on a romantic outing or if you pack like Paris Hilton. read more

We had our wedding here last year and we couldn't have been happier to choose this location! We wanted the convenience for all of our out-of-state guests and everything all in one place so it fit us so well. Victoria was our wedding coordinator at the time and went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. Kim, the director of catering also did everything she could to make sure our day was just the way we wanted it :) Their entire banquet team is also exceptional and the friendliest people! They made our night so special. As part of our first year anniversary gift, we were given a complimentary night stay in a suite. When we opened the door there was champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and a welcome note. This was so thoughtful and the champagne and strawberries were delicious and both chilled! The rooms are always so clean here and the beds are COMFY. It's usually hard for me to fall asleep sometimes at hotels but I was out like a light here. Can't wait to come back and we are thankful for all of our fun memories here! read more

Very nice hotel with huge driveway that is covered for easy access to check in. Huge parking lot. We were staying at a nearby hotel and needed to extend our stay. Our hotel was booked for the next night and so were most of the others in the area due to May soccer tournaments. They were able to accommodate us on no notice and gave us the military discount which was a great price break for the area. Breakfast and lunch were available at inside restaurants with a significant up charge. We missed having a refrigerator and microwave in the room, but the room was otherwise very clean, elegant and comfortable. I became ill due to a meal earlier in the day and my wife was able to safely get OTC medication for me thanks to a well lit parking area. The service was great and the staff extremely courteous and helpful. We were missing a hair dryer and the front desk sent some one up right away with a new one. Super service! Great stay! read more

We had our daughter's wedding on 7/27/24 and wanted to share our joy at the organization, friendliness, and preparation led by Kimberly Stafford and the entire staff. Wow! This is typical of what you would expect with a Marriott. The lobby has a very neat travel decor with old suitcases. For the elites and executive floor people, the lounge gets crowded. I've been there in the morning for breakfast and there wasn't any seating. The food options are OK, but nothing to write home about. They also have a Starbucks onsite. read more

I came here for a day long workshop for non profits in DuPage County. I appreciated the parking for the handicapped. The meeting rooms are nicely laid out and not too far from the breakout rooms. The layout of the ballroom was great for seeing as well as hearing. The building is light and airy. read more

This hotel is a great spot to host an event. I have worked for nonprofits for decades and always been one of the major organizers of events. I have never worked with any venue that did more to accommodate us, making sure every detail was handled correctly. But most of all, the Chicago Marriott Naperville provides a spectacular dinner, superb service, and a relaxing, but elegant atmosphere. Kimberly is absolutely amazing, and a virtuoso problem solver. You will never find anyone easier to work with. The wait staff and captain do an excellent job, too. I highly recommend this venue--and it's great to get a block of rooms for guests who want to stay overnight! read more

The hotel thought it was a great idea to allow a party in the lobby with a DJ on a weeknight. Forgetting that there are other guests who may have to be early. The front desk of course couldn't do anything about it, but disappointing the lack of competency and customer service the manager had to approve a party in the lobby until midnight. Cannot say enough nice things about this place! I hosted an event there a few weeks back and the staff totally delivered! The hotel is pretty and contemporary staff is friendly and very helpful. The event staff is amazing. They had our meeting space set-up way ahead of time, A/V Team is professional and helpful. Catering staff are hardworking and pay very close attention to details. Do NOT stay here if you aren't checking in early!!! Horrible experience with 5 work colleagues. All of us had confirmed reservations. We were flying in late. They didn't have rooms for 3 out of 5 of us. We all wanted to stay together to make getting to our early morning meetings easier. Instead of offering to help our group, they got the 3 others rooms at the Residence Inn, but wouldn't help the other 2 to get rooms at the other hotel. Manager was unapologetic and unhelpful. Terrible customer service skills! I let my company's travel department and our travel agency know not to have this hotel as an option! Good luck if you stay here. read more

I stayed here for a few nights and it was a great experience. The hotel is terrific, clean, wide-open and airy feel to the lobby, and tons of open space to work/gather. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. There is a full-service Starbucks as you walk in which is pretty awesome, though they don't open until 6:00 a.m. unfortunately --come on, Chicago, you can wake up earlier than that! There is a restaurant and bar on the main floor and an awesome fitness room and a ton of great, new equipment. They also have a decent concierge lounge on the 7th floor. Pretty typical Marriott concierge, nothing overly special. The rooms are fantastic. Again, very clean and airy feel just like the lobby. The bedding is extremely comfortable, and rooms a bit larger than average for a regular Marriott. Great location, right off the freeway and very close to downtown Naperville with cool shops and restaurants. Overall an excellent hotel. Certainly would stay again. read more

Dear friends i want to explain you that i stay in Marriotte hotels 460 days last 6 years, but this is the worst marriotte i have ever been stay, the hotel is clean and nice but costumer service 000000 , i called to the front deck and i order 2 hot green tea and 2 bottle of water, after one hour waiting i called them back, and they ask me if i did not get my tea, i said no and they told me that they don't have green tea if i want english breakfast , i say yes its ok 2 bottle water and 2 english breakfast, after 10 minutes somebody knock my door, i opened the door and they gave me 2 pocket tea without hot water and without bottle of water, i tried to explain him that i ordered hot water but he doesn't understand me because english is worst then mine, he told me that he speak a little english, i called again to the front desc and tell them that i got just 2 pack of tea, he told me oh sorry we cant bring hot water, i tell him why he told me that we don't doing room service now, i said ok if you are not doing room service why you not told me one hour ago, he says that oh my apologies , and he never bring bottle water or hot water, and told me hold one second on the line and drop the phone and never called me back.the worst costumer service. read more

This is a solid Marriott and one of my favorite Marriott branded hotels in the Naperville area. Pro's: + Starbucks- it has a small version that you can get your favorites drinks. Plus you can charge to your room or use the SB App to pay to get your points + Gym- there is no excuse for you not to get your workout in during your stay. Open 24 hours and one of the larger ones I've seen lately. + Whirlpool- it has serious power. Be forewarned, it gets packed at nights, especially on weekends when teams, parties, etc are staying + Concierge Lounge - they have one, but it's only open during the business traveler peak days . Sunday night - Friday morning. You will get a breakfast coupon to accommodate closure on weekend for Plats and others with privilege to access + Eco friendly - they offer recycling bins in room and similar to Euro hotels, make sure to place keycard in slot by the door to activate the lights +Shower - high shower head and serious water pressure +Location- easy access to highway. Near many restaurants + decent onsite bar and lobby to hang out in Con's: - Bathroom - awkward is the best way to describe it. It's on the small side and it requires maneuvering to open/close the door - noise - you can hear a bit of the traffics depending upon where your room is. - Wifi- if you don't have plat/gold status, expect to pay a pretty penny out of pocket Tips: + use the app to check-in/out. Room wasn't clean, upon arrival, in particular BLOODY TOWELS left for us. DISGUSTING. People running and screaming in the hallways close to 1 am. Illinois mask mandate, Half the people walking around weren't wearing masks. Happy the first stay, this time not at all. Get to the pool there are no towels there for anybody and when you complain it falls on deaf ears they don't even acknowledge that you said anything to them so I will not return. As a loyal Marriott customer, I spend alot of time in their hotels all over the world. So when I heard that we were having a big meeting with late dinners and early mornings meaning I would have to be staying at a hotel not far from where I live, I was relieved to hear it was at a Marriott. Located right off the tollway and Naperville Road (I'm still unclear as to where the Naper Blvd address comes from because this is actually at the corner of Diehl Rd and Naperville Road but I don't know Naperville very well so I could be confused!) this is a super convenient hotel to all that Naperville and the surrounding burbs have to offer. While the outside of the hotel looks a bit dated (I still can't decide if this is a new hotel or a remodeled one)- the interior is all up to date with a wide welcoming lobby, a bar with both indoor and out door seating (including a fire feature which was nice) and a full service restaurant. There are people welcoming you from the time you enter the lobby from the front desk staff, to the bellman to the host for the restaurant. And they are quick to offer you a bottle of water as well. Very good customer appreciation all the way around! My room, while not on the concierge level was quite nice and my status did allow me to enjoy the extra perks. And the bed was great, the workspace large and with free coffee to get me going in the mornings, I was a happy camper. The bathroom includes only a shower (no tub) which was fine. It seems that more hotels are going this route when they remodel these days. The meeting rooms in the conference area are actually quite nice and I thought the food and snacks that were served were also a step above what I usually see. They even made fresh baked cookies at one of the lunches that smelled as good as they tasted. And the service staff was terrific helping us assemble lunches for those that needed them to go, etc. If I had an issue it was with the temperature in the hallways of this hotel. I get that it is Summer and that air conditioning is necessary but geez! There was such cold air coming in around my room door it was like it was an outside entrance. I actually had to turn the heat on in my room to counterbalance it. Crazy!!! All in all- given the rate I paid this is a pretty nice standard Marriott. Guess I'm going to have to find another reason to stay in Naperville! read more

I have a customer nearby and always used to stay in Oakbrook. I was thrilled when this hotel opened, given its closer proximity, and it never disappoints. Great rooms, comfy beds, incredible staff at the front desk and in the concierge lounge too. The bar is fun to hang out at during the evening hours & Starbucks in the lobby is a great wake up call in the morning. I appreciate the "green" aspects of the hotel & Marriott's commitment to the planet! The rooms ending in 19 are the best. Corner king without being all the way at the end of the hallway!!!! Very new hotel. Recently opened in the same location as the old Crown Plaza Holiday Inn. Rooms are large, new beds, new TVs, etc. You can look around the room and see some of the past in regard to the old Holiday Inn such as the closets and same but remodeled small bathrooms. Down stars lobby level is vast, frankly a lot of wasted space, but for the most part plenty of rooms to sit and have conversation. The Bar area is the same, large and roomy. Service here is top notch, one reason is due to the newness and the opening, let's hope it remains so. Another good thing is the walking distance to LA Fitness if you are a member and if you want a little more exercise and the weather is nice, the selection of Morton's and Maggiano's is 1/2 mile down the road. My only star deduction is the charge for Internet at $9.95 per day. With Marriott usually charging a premium above other brands, one would think the Internet could be a given considering most folks at this type of hotel are on business. Sorry, minus 1! read more
