I stayed here for a night for mommy mental health getaway. The hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. The biggest perk for me here, was this is directly behind Naperville Freedom Commons, so you can walk easily to plenty of restaurants! It has a small pool and workout room as well. It does not include breakfast, but again, it's right by a ton of restaurants. It was the perfect spot for a mom who just wanted a night of rest and a good dinner. Staff was extremely nice and they give you free notes where you can scratch and get free Marriott Bonvoy points. What I did not like was there were spiders all over the place mainly in the bathrooms. Got a very good deal on the room. The beds were too soft, the carpet smelled. Not sure how to describe the smell. Just an odor! The room was clean and worked for the night. If we cannot get a room with a firm mattress we will need to change hotels. No free food for breakfast. read more

Great location, close to all the things. Room was clean and most come with a patio or balcony for those of us who are stupid and smoke. Even though I booked a room where to be closer to a different worksite I picked the wrong location meaning I still had to commute a half hour down Naper Blvd everyday. Despite my error I kept my room because of the friendly staff and feel of the hotel. Two improvements would be 1: have all the doors with quiet closers. Anytime someone leaves a room and doesn't have the courtesy to hold their door to close it then they slam shut. You can hear it across and down the halls. My room was also near an exterior door which slammed shut many many times. 2: they need to clean the courtyard of snow. That's all. read more

I arranged for a small business meeting of 7 guests. The staff was so pleasant and efficient. We had 7 guest rooms and one meeting room. A couple of our group are still very sensitive to COVID precautions and protocols. They were very happy with what they experienced. Hats off to the frontline employees!! read more

It's an OK hotel. Old building that looks like it used to be an apartment building, the upside is that you're right next to a new strip mall development that has a ton of restaurants within an easy walk (even in winter). The downside is that it's right off the highway, has not been updated in a while, and has a sad little bar so you better plan to eat & drink elsewhere. It's a fine hotel, that I don't plan to stay at again. The staff is generally nice, if some are a bit incompetent. The beds are typical Courtyard which are marginally comfortable and the decor has not been updated to the new Courtyard standards through furniture is at least okay. There's just nothing worth coming back to this hotel. It is what it is. read more

I was only here for one night, and literally just to sleep, but it was a decent hotel. The lobby is all modern and remodeled, which looks nice. They have a bar/cafe in the lobby that seemed to offer a lot of good options, and they've got their 'pantry' that's open 24 hours where you can get snacks (think vending machine items, but staffed by a person so you don't have to fight with a machine). The front desk was courteous and helpful, even when I wanted a last-minute room (I had been planning to share and decided last-minute I wanted my own room/space). They were able to give me a great rate, too, no price-gouging for a last-minute room! The beds were comfortable, not the best I've had but not terrible. I think the one complaint was that the TV didn't work great-signal kept cutting in and out. Not a huge deal, but about the only thing that annoyed me (considering I wasn't there very long). Decent option if you're in the area and need a place to stay. read more

Needed a room for a overnight visit to Wheaton/Naperville. Booked the Courtyard at a reasonable rate. Mobile check in and out. Full service Bistro and Market. Complimentary parking, Wifi, fitness center, and pool. No microwave oven or refrigerator in the room, but it wasn't necessary for an overnight stay. Large size room with sofa. Lots of outlets for my electronics. Just what I needed for such a quick stay, but for a longer stay I would need at least a refrigerator in the room. Recommend with caveats. read more

Usually when in town for the holidays, we stay at Hyatt Place, but they raised their rates. This Courtyard had very reasonable rates, so we took a chance and decided to stay here. Pros: Location-convenient to 88, near a ton of good restaurants (they are building more; a Fogo was under construction) Price (they were charging less than surrounding hotels) Rooms-standard, but they were able to give us a connecting room to our teens Market-they have a little market where you can grab snacks, etc. any time of day. Free Wi-Fi Cons: Mattress-hurt my back Decor-dated (felt like I was back in the '80's.) Bathroom amenities were minimal; shampoo/conditioner/soap. Plus, they should upgrade their soap because it didn't smell good. (Thankful, I brought all my own stuff.) Teens didn't and were disappointed. Cheap one cup coffee machine in room. Overall, everything was smooth. Final note: across the hall from us, another guest's fire alarm went off (only in her room). They switched her room, but it took over an hour for them to turn it off in the middle of the night. I could hear the alarm in our room, but management did give an apology note in the morning. read more

While in the Naperville area for a wedding, we stayed at this property and were very happy with the services offered. The staff was very welcoming upon check-in and continued to bend over backwards till the moment we checked out. The room was very clean and well appointed. I love Marriott prperties because of the consistency of accomodations and this was no exception. When we awoke on the morning we were leaving, Chicago was receiving a heavy snow and we were flabbergasted to see a hotel employee brushing snow off car windows for guests. Now...that is service.... We would stay again because the location is great, the bed is comfy and the staff is friendly. read more

My wife and I really ended up loving this place! Clean rooms and typical Marriott beds which I really like. Got a del through Booking.com and it ws a real bargain. After a day of driving over to Indiana, we elected to sit and watch the Bears game on a big screen in an area of the lobby and had a pizza called in from Giordanos- a great way to wrap up the day. Anna who works in the deli/bar gave superb service and advice (like telling us to avoid a certain city in Indiana!). This motel is close to shopping and several good restaurants and rest assured, we will be back when in the Chicago area! read more

Let me start by saying that I've been a Marriott Platinum Elite member for several years, and that the staff at this hotel is fine. My issue is with the Courtyard brand itself. If you're staying here as a business traveler, you need to understand that there is no real breakfast option here for your morning routine. I don't mean that there's no FREE option, I mean there's no viable option to even get a cup of coffee. At a full service Marriott, you'd get the concierge lounge, or a restaurant. At the budget Marriott properties you get a free breakfast and self-serve (quick) free coffee in the lobby. At Courtyard they have a "bistro", where you stand in line for Starbucks coffee (like Target, it's not an actual Starbucks). The breakfast options are like something you'd microwave. I don't even mind the cost ($12 for a sandwich and coffee) as much as the fact that there were 11 people in line this morning and 1 hotel employee trying to play barista and make breakfast, one at a time. Who has time for that? This isn't a fluke. There's ALWAYS a line in the morning at the Courtyard properties I've been to. I would understand if Marriott didn't have coffee at all, anywhere. Or only had restaurants. But if I can get a free, self-serve cup of coffee and a bagel at their budget hotels, why would I stay here? Net: If you need a cheap room, try Fairfield Inn or Sprinhill Suites. Better morning experience for about 30% less. read more

I went to a Multi Vendor event at this place, and even though that was a dud, I think the hotel was pretty nice. Standard? Yes, but never the less, nice. They had a lounge area for their guest and a little eatery. It was very clean, that's pretty important when it comes to hotels. I didn't go in any guest rooms but I did visit their conference rooms. I thought they were pretty small but then again, it's a chain hotel. I don't think this is a location for a multi vendor event though. I might have to consider staying at a Courtyard some time during my travels. read more

So 2.5 stars is more appropriate but 3 will do. The staff at this hotel are incapable of doing their jobs and helping thier guests. The word incompetent comes to mind. Let's talk about the screaming children running up and down the hallway at all hours of the day. Let's also talk about when I checked in at 130 am with a lot of luggage and not having the key to get into the side door of the hotel actually working. Overall the room is pretty clean...my room kind of smelled like feet. Don't stay here because by the end of your trip especially if you are at the hotel for work you'll just be annoyed. So, I was whisked away by my job for some exciting training in the position of Sales and Event Planning. I was went away to train in Naperville, IL. On one hand, exciting to be somewhere I have never been and this is a position of my dreams with my company which I love. On the other, three weeks away from the hubs! Wah! Regardless, I was put up in the Courtyard Marriot of Naperville. Since I was going to be living there for nearly a month I was hopeful that it would be a pleasant experience. The hotel is standard. The lobby is modern and cool. Comfortable for working at night. The shuttle, which was my main transportation while in Naperville is kind of tricky. Arranging it was sometimes difficult and it was often late. It would be fine if this trip were for leisure, but having a work day it began to wear on me towards the end. It seemed more poor planning or miscommunication than any thing. There are many killer restaurants in the area (you can read reviews on my page!) And the fitness center is open 24hrs, which I utilize. The thing that really made this hotel a great place to stay for three weeks was the staff! Everyone was so sweet and so helpful. They all asked how my training was and gave a lot of suggestions of places to eat nearby and things to do on the weekend. The front desk girl, Jackie was so sweet and always brightened my day. Talking to her felt like chatting with a girlfriend I have known for a while. The shuttle driven, Juan was so funny! Even though sometimes the shuttle was poorly arranged, by the time he picked me up he was so genuine and friendly that I spent my whole ride back laughing with him. This staff is truly top notch. What an excellent place to spend the night. Me and my brother drove out from Fort Dodge Iowa, about 6 hours away to check out a car we wanted to buy in Chicago. After the disappointment of that deal falling through we decided we where going to spend the night somewhere in town. We searched and called a few places but none had rooms available with a decent view until we called the Courtyard by Marriott. Gwen at the front desk took our call and quickly informed us that she indeed had a room available with a view of the courtyard. Once we got there we where helped by Brian at the front desk. Both him and Gwen where extremely helpful in letting us know where everything was,not only at the Marriott but also where we could grab a bite to eat or a drink around the area. As far as our room goes, it was outstanding. The beds where comfortable, the sheets and covers soft and the balcony had an awesome view of the pool and the courtyard. I will be visiting the area later on this year and will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott again. read more

When one stays at a chain hotel, one expects the company's standards to be met. This hotel meets the requirement so far as service, and the cleanliness of the room are concerned. We arrived late and asked the desk man where we could go for a late meal. I was not looking forward to driving more, in the dark, in a strange city, with snow falling. He advised we call Jason's deli and have a meal delivered. GOOD ADVICE! The free breakfast the next morning however was awful - out of several items, things that should be hot were cold and vice versa. Next time, we'll go out to breakfast. read more

This was our third annual stay here, and this was our worst experience by far. We could not sleep either night because of teens in and out of their rooms, slamming doors, talking and laughing loudly in the halls and in the courtyard till all hours. I called the front desk numerous times and they said they would take care if it, but they never did. We'll look at staying elsewhere next year. Otherwise, I appreciate the complementary wi-fi, nice lobby area with a modern living room vibe. I didn't use the business office or the café, but they looked to have the usual offerings. Housekeeping was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were decently maintained and there are restaurants within walking distance. read more

I've been here a couple of times lately, traveling for work. Easily my favorite hotel in the area, and I've stayed at a few. Very friendly staff, comfortable bed, fridge/microwave and even a couple of chinette plates. Doesn't sound like a big thing, but when your leftovers are in a non-microwavable foil container, you realize it's the little things in life. Haven't had the opportunity to use the pool, but it looked clean and inviting. Biggest win is the breakfast. Way more variety than you find most places and - God love 'em - I have to be at work by 6am and when I came to the lobby at 5:30 there was food already out. This NEVER happens anywhere else - I was so elated to actually be able to grab some food to take with. Again -- it's the little things. Staff has been unfailingly friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Internet is strong and reliable. All in all, a great place. My one complaint - as others have noted - is the TV reception. Something is weird there. Channels just seem to come and go. But whatevs. Everything else is terrific, so I can look past this. This will definitely be my "go to" hotel when I'm in the area again. read more

We booked this as one of our free nights through Hotels.com but they treated us as we we're a full paying guest. (Experience has not always been the case.) Very clean rooms, very quiet, and the pool was not overly chlorinated, and was a toasty 87 degrees. We were able to enjoy a drink at their bar in the evening, and a great breakfast sandwich and Starbucks coffee before we continued our journey in the morning. Only downer was they didn't have a hot tub. We'd definitely stay again. read more

I stayed here when I came from out of town to attend a wedding. There were a block of rooms set aside for the guests. The staff was extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The room was very nice, clean and very quiet. They supplied shuttle rides to and from the wedding which was held at a nearby venue. The bistro had a wonderful breakfast. I had a very pleasant stay here. There are many restaurants, shopping, salons, movie theaters and even bowling nearby yet it's tucked away from all the hustle and bustle in a very nice area. read more

Bad service very rude my brother had a wedding and booked a bunch of rooms. They served my underage cousin beer. My nephews room smelled like mold that was next to the pool. Fined me 250 dollars for smoking outside. there were no signs that said u cant smoke outside on the property even though there were cigarette butts all over the ground. I stay at this hotel for work often. I prefer it to the full service Marriott down the street. The rooms are always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The sidewalks are shoveled even on the snowiest days. They promptly attend to all requests such as extra towels, early check-ins and late check outs. Someone seems to always be available to help. When we asked the front desk for restaurant recommendations they offered a few options, gave us directions and a coupon for it. They arranged transportation to the airport on our behalf and offered complimentary shuttle service to shopping and even drove us to the office when we missed our ride. I have to give a big shout out to the staff over at the Courtyard Marriott in Naperville! Last year, we had a wedding in our family and we had some family come into town from out east. This included one of our favourite family members, an older man with the beginning stages of dementia. Not only was the Courtyard wonderful in helping us find a great rate for all of these family members, they went ahead an put them in rooms next to each other in an area of the hotel that wouldn't be as busy/loud so that it wouldn't disturb our family member with dementia. Another concern we had was how to transport all of these family members from this hotel to the house where the gatherings would be held. We were informed that they have a shuttle that runs within a 5 mile radius at no extra cost to guests. Problem solved!! All of these great things aside, the lounge is clean and updated. The courtyard was kept up very well and the rooms were updated and clean! read more

Stayed 4 nights, forgot several items in the closet. I was disappointed the hotel did not contact me regarding my things. If I did not call and inquire, my things would have just sat in the Lost and Found. The hotel would not send these to a Marriot in my town but and refused to do anything other than FedEx at my own expense.... Also left open fudge from Great America on the nightstand the last evening of my stay, In the morning the fudge was covered in crawling ants!! Yuck!! read more

There was something wrong with my first room (nothing that was a big deal) but the manager immediately switched our room, apologized, and gave us free breakfast for two at The Bistro. This was our second time staying here and was pleasantly surprised that the property had recently undergone a renovation. The room was clean and comfortable. Our room balcony faced the interior courtyard and it was a great vantage point to relax after a long day. What makes this 5 star in my opinion though is the service. Staff drove us in the shuttle to our event and picked us up and they were fun and sociable both times. We requested a refrigerator in the room and it was delivered within a few minutes of making the request. The only negative was a loud group of teenagers in town for a lacrosse tournament but other than that it was a wonderful stay. read more

I don't want to disparage the nice employees and hard workers here because the interactions with the staff were totally cool. I feel sorry for them, though, because this hotel was really bad in most every other way. Would NEVER stay here if I had any other option. You're going to pay hundreds of dollars per night for a very mediocre and generic hotel experience. Three cocktails at their bar costs about 40$ if you like to tip right (tiny drinks), once again, no problem with the service- they hire nice people, but it's too much, every aspect of the way this hotel is ran seemed like it came from a dude with his head up his bosses arse. You can't even hold the elevators open, they start beeping at you and then close HARD and they almost hurt my grandpa, so yea, don't waste your money here if you don't have to. It's basically a motel in a costume, but if you're one of those people who need dumb art and the illusion of being in an upscale hotel they will be happy to make you pay 350$ for a couple nights. read more

We will start off by saying this was our hotel for our wedding night. This was our main and only problem throughout the whole event. My (now) wife, booked the block or rooms for our many guests, booked her parents an extended stay for 5+ days, booked herself a suit for three days, and finally a suit for myself and 10 groomsmen for a day. All this was finalized in advance and also assured room availability for myself at noon the day of for the nearly dozen of us to get ready in. That is where the problem starts. We never ended up getting the suite which the guys needed to get ready in. We had to pack into a small room and get ready in the hallway. Staff was very rude and not knowledgeable of any happenings. Our wedding went quite late, 2am. We arrived back at the hotel close to three in the morning. There was at least three other wedding parties staying at the hotel. My wife's parents received a call from the front desk at around 1:30 AM about noise complaints. Our party had not even arrived back from the wedding, and they so kindly woke up my wife's parents to inform them about noise that did not involve them or our party. The fire alarms were going off constantly at around 4 AM. Because of Issues with the hotel it caused the entire day to run two hours behind. When we called the speak about it we had of the managers saying we were very rude. And I responded damn right we were. I would not count on this hotel for a big day like a wedding. I wouldn't even suggested for a one night business trip because you never know when fire alarms are going off for no apparent reason. I could go on and on about the unprofessional and ridiculous actions from this hotel. BE ADVISED! read more
