Cute, trendy little restaurant. We stopped by on a rainy Wednesday on a whim while on business in the city. We were craving oysters so we ordered the platter that had 2 of each grilled oysters. All were just okay - a little too watery. We also got the clamp chowder (amazing), the crab cake, and a sushi roll that had crab inside and steak on top - it was alright but needed something else such as jalapeno or a sauce. We enjoyed our dinner enough, but we were expecting more for the price we paid.

Despite the name, there are many menu choices besides oysters. No one in our party had oysters. Several of us enjoyed the surf and turf special- 4oz filet with grilled shrimp. I appreciated not having to order an 8-10oz filet and wasting food. Service was exceptional. Our server handled a food allergy very well. Nice to have a coat rack up front.

Chicago Oyster House definitely had the oysters IN THE HOUSE. I came to participate in the National Oyster Week Special being that this was one of the few locations to have unlimited oysters. The menu was only available in the bar area. I waited 5 minutes to be checked in for my reservation and my seat at the bar was already prepared for me. The decor and ambiance was for intimate date nights or drinks and chatting with a friend or family member. Overall I enjoyed every oyster and the garlic bread was VERY soft and butter Not pictured a glass of Riocondo Rose Prosecco

I was at a conference and went alone to Chicago Oyster House. I sat at the bar. The bartender was phenomenal. She made terrific recommendations. I started with a sake martini and a selection of grilled oysters. They were delicious. I then had the Blackhawks sushi roll. It was amazing. The bar area is attractive and comfortable. Food and drinks are a good value. I'm looking forward to going back!

Love the oyster house. The pork chop was tender, moist and full of flavor. It was delicious.

First time dining at the Chicago Oyster House in years, but unlikely that it will be our last visit. Delicious Cocktails--a traditional Espresso Martini and truly unique Tiramisu Martini. Highly recommended. A good but not great slightly limited wine list was the only disappointment. The food was generally outstanding. If you want a really different soup experience I urge you to try the Gumbalaya Soup: slow-cooked brown roux sprinkled with thyme, tomato, onion, garlic, celery, green bell pepper, paprika, okra, chicken, andouille sausage, rice, mussels and shrimp. The grilled oyster offerings were plentiful and the raw oyster options sufficiently varied. To experience the oyster options I urge you to order the Grilled Oysters Combo comprised of 2 of each C.O.H -- garlic, cilantro and cheese; ICHI -- jalapeño, scallions, ginger and zesty soy; FIRECRACKER -- spices, herbs and lime juice; and the traditional Oysters Rockefeller offering -- spinach and cheeses. We didn't think there was room left for entrees so we had two remarkably fresh seafood appetizers: Crab Cakes consisting of lump crab meat seasoned and baked not pan fried (refreshing); and, the Lobster Roll -- succulent tail meat served chilled New England style with mayo and celery salt in toasted bun with deliciously seasoned fried pickles. Tiramisu and coffee for dessert completed a wonderful meal.

We had dinner here during restaurant week. I chose the clam chowder, lamb chops, and cheesecake. I could not have been more impressed. The chowder was full of large pieces of clam and had a beautiful creaminess. I've never had lamb that was this tender before and it was cooked to perfection. We finished the meal with cheesecake that had a rich creamy consistency. The wait staff anticipated every need we had before we knew we had it. Neither of us had ever had oysters on the shell before and our waitress helped us pick out a selection that was perfect. I would encourage anyone to take advantage of the restaurant week offerings.

My daughter and I were going to the theater and decided to give this place a try beforehand. We found street parking right around the corner and in having a reservation we didn't have to wait at all. In fact it was so early in the evening that there were only two other tables. We had the calamari and the lobster roll for appetizers, both were very good. (The lobster roll comes with fried pickles, which we did not care for.) They cut the lobster roll in half for us and by the time we finished those two things we didn't have a whole lot of room, so we ordered one sushi roll each. We had the Chicago and the Volcano and they were perfect. We had one drink each and splurged on brownie a la mode ($14!) for dessert. Their prices are a bit on the high side, plus they add a 20% service charge to every bill. I didn't mind this because they are upfront about it and tell you on the receipt that the service charge is divided among the staff, and you have the option to tip additional to your server, although it's only "suggested." And they have a few amounts calculated for you. Our server was Beckie and she was very attentive so I did add more. It was $175 for the two of us so we won't do it often, but everything was fresh and delicious so for special occasions it would be great.

What can I say! I love this place. They never disappoint! Walking in you're always greeted. Staff is very friendly and I've never had to wait to be seated. The ambience is so nice. There is a bar area when you first walk in that you can sit at or if you want to dine in and have it more dinner style you can walk back into the dinning area. The food is always bomb! Every single thing I've tasted so far has been amazing! You def need to put this on your list and check it out if you already haven't

The service was pretty good. I went for a team work dinner and used the back room. Not a lot of space in the front but everyone was accommodating and kind. Food was very tasty!! Nothing out of this world but an overall decent experience and would come again. The seafood tower was decent.

Oyster shoot with quail egg, which was great! Had I known that I could get it with vodka...

The ambience is dimly lit, cozy, with speakeasy-like vibes and seemingly intimate, so it would make a good date night too. Service was great, and our waiter was very attentive and offered his advice and input on food items. I opted for the Lyonnaise Salad, thick-cut bacon, truffle mac n cheese, and Steak frites. My friend had the Double Wagyu cheeseburger. Everything was relatively good, the steak frites cooked a little too done for me though. The salad, the thick-cut bacon, and the cheeseburger were delicious. I am not a fan of the truffle mac n cheese, but then again I don't really like truffle, so take that into consideration. Dessert was delicious! Apple Pie and ice cream were literally so good. While I don't think it's spectacular or anything, it's on par with other Chicago restaurants in this category, and I would visit again.

For starters, we ordered the kimchi pork dumplings and grilled octopus, which both tasted great, but the kimchi flavoring did overpower everything. Our main course included the marinated short rib, wag rib eye, and a5 5 brisket which were all cooked to perfection by our server. However, my experience at Perilla Steakhouse was hands down frustrating. Upon arrival, things were off to a rough start when I could barely hear the server over the music. At times, I felt like our server was rushing us through our meal based on how much less attention he gave us versus the other tables. I'm not someone who needs my glass refilled every minute either to be clear, but things did feel off with how slow our meal was paced out and the general disinterest the server had in us. For reference, we arrived early to a nearly empty restaurant that hadn't started peak dining time yet. I recognize the steakhouse is an upscale, chic take on traditional Korean dishes and I admire the chef for sharing his culture with the city. I also understand restaurants are going to be more expensive, the closer you are located in relation to downtown. Even so, in comparison to other nearby high-end restaurants, the price to portion ratio for our meal felt off. For example, our $16 dumplings included 3 dumplings on a plate. Yes, there's an argument for inflation and the cost of quality ingredients, but I argue that at this price point we shouldn't have left hungry either.

I had seen it previously advertised on TikTok and decided it looked like a nice, upscale dining experience and the perfect mimosa-filled brunch opportunity. Upon coming in at 11 when the location opened, I was already impressed by the beautiful cafe inspired French interior. I chose the French toast breakfast and my boyfriend got the steak and eggs, and we both had mimosas as well! My French toast was light, fluffy, and delicious, definitely a solid choice. My boyfriend was super impressed by the steak and eggs and said it was the best breakfast he had our entire trip! The food itself was great and I would love to come back and try their dinner menu at some point. The service, however, is what truly stood out to me in our experience. Our servers were very helpful, knowledgeable about the menu, and speedy. We truly felt taken care of. Fernando was the sweetest and most welcoming, and he immediately made my boyfriend and I feel so welcomed and at home in Chicago. For starters, we had a reservation which I would recommend. We were seated right away and while the place is large inside, I'm not sure what walk-in availability is like. The food: we really enjoyed the octopus, escargot, I had the Filet Mignon Au Poivre, and the banana/coconut entremet. The octopus was tender and flavorful; octopus cooked right (especially in smaller pieces) is hard to find so I was impressed. The escargot was nice and buttery/garlicky, and piping hot. I LOVED my Filet with the green peppercorn cream sauce! It was delicious and my husband was surprised I ate so much of it. It was cooked exactly as I asked, the meat had good flavor, and the sauce was delicious and well balanced + the right consistency. Lastly, the banana and coconut dessert was a pleasant surprise. The banana flavor was fresh (not artificial) and had the right balance of coconut. It was creamy, not too sweet, and had the right balance of textures with the outer coating and the crumble underneath - if you like banana or coconut at all I'd say it's a must order! The creme brulee was just okay. My issue was the service - the table next to ours LIT ON FIRE because a menu was over the top of a candle. After burning half the menu and the fire was getting larger, our partners ran over and put it out with their napkins. They yelled and there was NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from the staff at all - at least 2 staff saw and one waiters eyes got big for a minute and she turned away. Not even a thank you from anyone to our partners for putting it out, and they had to ask for new napkins because theirs had black char on them. We were in the middle of enjoying our appetizers and my friend was just digging into her French onion soup from our first round and the staff kept trying to take our plates away. My friend had to tell them 3 times to please leave the soup at the table, and overall made us feel very rushed. We weren't taking a long time to eat at all so felt very weird? When the entrees were dropped on the table, my friend got a steak and they kept trying to give her a butter knife. It took multiple attempts to get the correct knife. Then once we were done eating it took a while to get our plates and old glasses cleared away. Overall service timing was off and their aggressiveness in the beginning of trying to take our plates away + the lack of response to A FIRE in the restaurant was pretty alarming. While I enjoyed the food there, the service was pretty bad and I feel unsafe with the lack of response to a fire in the restaurant so I don't think we'll return.

He was incredibly efficient, attentive without ever hovering, and had such a natural sense of humor that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The food was excellent! It's rare to find someone who balances professionalism with warmth so effortlessly. He truly added something special to our afternoon, and we left feeling very well taken care of.

So helpful with the suggestions, so attentive and so kind and personable!!! Off of her amazing recommendations we got the tuna tartare, hamachi crudo, miso salmon , skirt steak and bread pudding !!! I would order every single item again! The skirt steak specifically was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri was absolutely phenomenal!!! I will be thinking about it for a while! The blueberry spritz was so good I had three lol! I love that every day they have specific specials so Monday night was steak frites. The tartare was perfect to share and lasted a lot longer than we thought! Who I think was the manager came by a few times to make sure all was well which just felt so nice for a Monday night. This place is perfect for GNO, Business Dinner, or a Third+ date! I have nothing but positive things to say!! AMAZING place
