We stopped in before a play and I have to say, this was a perfect place to go. Of course, there's other places that seem to always be mentioned when looking for places to eat before a show, but Remington's should be on the top of that list. My wife was super hungry and I was not and Remington's accommodated both of our needs. She ordered the housemade turkey burger and was in turkey burger heaven. A lot of places just have turkey patties, but this housemade burger was juicy and delicious. she got it with fries and they were well done (per her preference) and they were just the right amount of crispy. A lot of places will say they made them well done, but then they are limp.. Not these. These were perfectly crisped. Everything looked delicious, and if I were hungrier, I would have ordered the prime rib French dip, the American burger, or something heartier and smelled wonderful. Instead, I opted for he Wedge salad. And y'all may disagree with me, but a true wedge (again, according to me) has bacon, hard-boiled egg, and ranch dressing. Stop adding tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing. Ick. And they accommodated me and the server even agreed with me. Homey don't want no tomatoes or moldy cheese. Gross. Instead, they gave me what I asked for and it was perfect. The lettuce wedge was freshly washed, cold, and crisp; just like the bacon pieces, crispy and melt in your mouth good. The egg was perfectly hard-boiled and the ranch is that sweet one that restaurants have but the stores can't seem to stock. Delicious! Remington's is a cool downtown bar atmosphere with nooks and crannies all over the place for a little more intimacy or private conversations during or after work. I will say the ambiance was not great but it was NRA restaurant show in town and everything was packed. We had oysters for one of the apps and crab cakes for the other. First time visiting. We found it as we walked by. It was a very busy day in the city. We also made reservations but they were able to seat us earlier. We sat by the bar in a booth. The space is cozy with good themed music playing. I loved siting by the window people watching on a snowy day. Our waitress Aby B. was amazing. Very polite and full of energy. Everything she suggested was delicious. For appetizers w e had the Lobster Deviled Eggs, Sticky Pork Belly Bites, Bacon & Potato Croquettes. I stopped by Remington's on the way home from Pilates (I was famished). Remingtons is located conveniently across the street from the Chicago Bean on Michigan Avenue. Though I reserved a booth in the main dining area, I was seated by the window in the bar area at a high boy. Not as comfortable as a booth but I had a killer view. This is St. Patrick's day weekend so the city is vibrant with people from all walks of life in town to see the river "turn" green. Now about the food. I started with a cup of shrimp chowder. A bit sweet due to the corn but still tasty. For my lunch, I ordered the Wrightwood salad and unfortunately I did not care for it. The flavors were not coming together for me at all. My waitress was super nice and asked if I wanted to exchange my meal. This time I went with her initial recommendation and ordered the filet sliders with a side of Brussels sprouts. JACKPOT! The sliders were tender and the Brussels sprouts were flavor. Both have pungent flavors, bleu cheese on the sliders and the balsamic in the brussel sprouts, was just a lot. I would order again but separately. Sorry guys, no pictures for the sliders and Brussel sprouts. This place is awesome, perfect place for night out. It's located right next to millennium park on the east loop of Chicago. The staff are super friendly and make lots of great recommendations. Classic stake house vibes and cool ambiance. I was able to try the Mac and cheese and the French dip sandwich both of which knocked it out of the park 10/10 would recommend and have again. The Mac and cheese has the really nice breaded crust and very cheesy and creamy. The French dip sandwich has some really nice and tasty beef and comes with a rich dipping sauce. Wanted some place sorta up scale for our Anniversary. I put Anniversary on the reservation and once again the restaurant failed to acknowledge it. Why have it on open table if they don't even say anything. Pace of service was pretty good except when we sat with empty tea glasses. We had two people serving us and the lack of refills surprised me. The Croquettes were really good. Nice and crispy outside and soft and potato-y on the inside. Dinner was Salmon and Asparagus and Filet and Baked Potato with a shared side of Spätzle bacon n cheese. My salmon was wonderful and I had a ton of asparagus. A couple were a bit woodie and should have been cut shorter or pealed. But most were very tender. Husband said his filet was amazing and he ate every bit of his potato. We did the three courses for $30. We had the deviled eggs, the witch salad, the beef sandwich the salmon and asparagus for dessert. We had carrot cake and the Nutella brownie. Everything was perfect. The deviled eggs was flavorful. The wedge salad was fresh. The salmon and asparagus was cooked perfectly. I was not a huge fan of the brownie. The carrot cake was warm and had a nice spice to it. Asked and received a table outside. We even asked for a different table because of the sun; no issues! Super nice! They have indoor and patio seating, which is out by the road. The car noise is blocked off by the stairs to the parking garage downstairs. Pedestrians are blocked by plants which is super nice. High tables inside have coat hangers directly under the table. Many reservation rooms. Definitely nice for a late date night. Bathrooms are down a flight of stairs. It wasn't super busy at 12pm, an hour after they open. By the time we left, there were about 5-6 tables occupied. One thing that did bother me though was seating a table inside next to us so their feet were by our faces. Brussels were delicious, lobster deviled eggs were great, and the french dip was perfect. The french dip: meat was quite rare which was perfect in my opinion. Horseradish wasn't overpowering, and the shaved prime rib was sliced beautifully. I added a dash of salt and some black pepper in my au jus drip to get those flavors popping. Lobster deviled eggs: 8/10 - we were given the option to add another half instead of ordering two orders (6). Delicious, lobster flavor was all there, not too bland or tasting "too fake." Unfortunately some of the egg whites were less than a half from peeling. Brussels: I loved that they had square slices of bacon in the brussels instead of crumbled. I scoured the internet for a place close to my hotel to eat and was excited to come here. I was looking forward to the lobster deviled eggs and cornbread. Sadly they were out of cornbread I ordered the chicken entree and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels had way too much vinegar. I had to drain each one prior to eating. The rotisserie chicken was cold and a little bland swimming in its au jous. The potatoes were great (can't really mess that up haha) Service was solid. I was sad to see this place add a 3.5% admin fee. It's not like it's a cheap place, I spent $70 by myself with no alcoholic beverages. Was tacking on an extra $2 really necessary? Insulting to be honest. Raise your prices if you need to. It's not a good look on the bill and I'm sure some people take that out on the wait staff (not me though. Some friends and I chose this as one wanted a steak and the other wanted somewhere close to The Art Institute. Win win! We caught them before what I would assume would be the dinner rush. Sat by the open doors as it was a nice day. Good music was being played on the corner so that was a bonus. I got the prime rib which came with a loaded baked potato (must've missed that on the menu), one friend had the cajun shrimp pasta and the other had her steak. The prime rib also came with au jus and horseradish cream sauce. I ordered medium rare, it was more medium but that was fine with me. My friend was pleased with her steak as they had A-1 (no judgement!) and the pasta special was delicious. The margaritas were wonderful (I had 3) and the lemon drop martini was good as well. We also ordered the brussel sprouts which were cooked well and the garlic mashed. Had we realized the steaks came with the baked potato we would have passed on that. Pre-concert dinner with my cousins was at Remington's. I've been to this restaurant once before for dinner 8 years ago. Our server was Darren, who was very attentive and friendly and went out of his way for me. We started with a round of cocktails and I asked Darren for a gold rush, which is a bees knees only with bourbon. Darren made it happen and it was perfect. My husband had an old-fashioned, actually two so it must've been a good cocktail. For dinner, my husband had the mahi mahi sandwich. A generous sandwich with perfectly cooked fish with a nice sear but still moist. It came with a side of shoestring fries. I had two appetizers as my dinner, the lobster deviled eggs and the tuna poke. The deviled eggs were creamy and delicious and had a little kick of heat. The tuna poke had the freshest tuna and the crispies wontons. Both dishes were delicious. It definitely would come here for appetizers and cocktails at the bar. read more

I'm embarrassed how long it has taken me to write a review for Remington's because I rave about this restaurant to anyone that will listen! Tip: I would strongly recommend making a reservation to ensure you can get a table especially during the weekend. When you first arrive: The restaurant is large and can easily accommodate different party sizes. It is the perfect date night place. The inside of the restaurant is dark from the wall colors to the dimly lit lights. I love the upbeat music they play, it is mix of top 40s. They have a large bar area with TVs if you want a solo outing but stay up-to-date with your favorite team. Remington's has a lot of booths which for a booth gal is a plus. Food: You have to try a steak when you come to Remington's. The steak is always dishes and pairs perfectly with the mac-n-cheese. The mac-n-cheese is unbelievable which is saying a lot! I normally don't trust none soul food restaurant mac-n-cheese but the bacon really does give it s smokey and just salty enough to blend well with the combination of cheeses. Service: All of the staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive. Our waiter was friendly and always willing to give a recommendation if you are torn between dishes. After every visit the hostess and other waiters near the door wished us a good night. Drinks: I have yet to have a bad drink at Remington's. The drinks are strong and once I asked for more bitters in my Old Fashioned because it was very strong! No complaints about a strong drink, plus the waiter and bartender are happy to adjust your drink when needed. I normally get either a french martini or the Purple Rain cocktail. Both are delicious! We decided not to get any appetizers bc nothing really caught our eye. We ordered the ribeye and The Remington (which is dry-aged prime strip). Even though we ordered both of them medium rare, the ribeye came out more rare in the center than The Remington. I ordered the fries instead of the loaded potatoes and they were perfectly crispy and tasty but a little too salty. The steak also had areas where it seemed like 90% of the salt decided to land on. We shared a side of the Broccolini which had a nice asian vinegarette sauce and lovely char to it. My bf didn't want any potatoes so he asked if we could substitute it with a small garden salad but were told we couldn't, which is a bummer bc they're about the same price. The quality of the salad we were served was not up to par with the rest of the food, sadly; it just didn't taste fresh. It tasted like the salad you'd get at an airport kiosk, if you know what I mean. I don't know if our server was the only server there that night but it took him a while to come back to us after the steaks came out.
