When we got to my apartment, it turned out the piano wouldn`t fit through the first floor stairwell! The back stairwell looked impossible to say the least, but these guys didn`t give up. It took more time and people, but they got the piano through the back to my disbelief! I think a lot of other places would have told me the job couldn`t be done, but they made sure I got my piano at the end of the day, and I really appreciate all of the extra efforts their team took.

Granted, my parent's piano hadn't been consistently tuned so it was a bit hard at first. However, after the third consistent tuning it shouldn't slip so quickly as it did. So this time we thought, try someone else. That's how to we got to Adam. Adam was actually a little pricier than the other tuner, but I said if he tunes well, who cares? Well... who cares is right. Not only was Adam very good, the piano is still holding its tune very well - and thats with me going to town and banging out some Chopin right after he finished tuning. Last time I did that the piano seemed already off. Given that the whole family are opinionated musicians, piano tuning can be a pain but not anymore. Besides having problems with the tuning,he'd tell us that he couldn't fix a dead key because he couldn't do that particular work, and that it was a huge job and would cost lots of money etc. Granted, we didn't do the ideal tuning every six months that you should do to keep it up. I discovered Gary's service while I was Christmas shopping at Sam Ash for my daughters. They had his business cards sitting on the counter, and I noticed that it read "Piano Tuning & Repair" which I thought was ideal. I asked the salesman there and he said that everyone liked Gary's work, and he came highly recommended. The first time he came over he not only expertly tuned the piano, but also fixed two bad keys on the spot for a reasonable charge. That was about 5 years ago and he has done our tuning and service ever since. Once you meet him you will instantly know that a) he is professional - easy to schedule and always on time, b) he is extremely knowledgeable and exudes confidence c) he is honest and he's not just looking to make a fast buck off of you. My daughter, who plays it, is absolutely thrilled at what he has done with her piano.

This was a sentimental project and I was prepared to put up some cash. Geoff got the guitar sounding and looking amazing at a fair and reasonable price. It was pretty much half of what I thought I was going to have to spend for what I wanted done. I really like that he's up front and honest. He'll never try to upsell you and will tell you if something doesn't need changing. He also cares about the materials he works with and will re-purpose whatever he can, which I think is pretty cool. Sometimes you gotta be a little patient, but he always comes thru. He does great work that speaks for itself but he goes the extra mile. The guy is clearly passionate about what he does.
