UPDATED 9/22/11 I had my last visit here in August. At the end of the visit I was encouraged to make a follow-up appointment per usual. Because my August schedule was hella hectic I opted no. They pressured me said "Are you sure?" I told them I would call them when I had time to come back to which they replied, "Ok. You have our number". Fast forward to September, after taking a (short) break from unnecessary messages that I mostly got because my insurance covered, this place called me. I saw the missed call later in the day but noticed that they didn't leave a message. I figured that they would call back. What I did not figure is that they would call back ten more times without leaving a message, every business day for two weeks. This stalkerish behavoir was NOT appreciated and I was super annoyed that they did not leave a message. So shady. Funny thing is, I WAS planning on making an appointment but their stalker calls turned me off and they lost my business. read more

I heard about this place when they offered free 7-minute massages at my job in the early spring. I took advantage of that, and also the free 30 minute deep tissue massage they offered. I kept coming back! After a few sessions of body work with the amazing Laura (who is super friendly and very good at what she does), I got to meet with the doctor. He was fantastic. Very down-to-earth and friendly, and he really took time with the adjustments. An overall great experience every time I visit their office. They're pretty old school. No online scheduling, not even a Web site (that I could find). If you're interested in great chiropractic care, do it the old fashioned way and give them a call. You won't regret it. read more

I am 45 yrs old and have been doing chiropractic visits since the age of 17. I go primarily for wellness. Firm believer in Chiro from a wellness perspective as I rarely get sick. I work in the building at 25 E Washington, the person that wrote the review about hearing people at Macys must be thinking of a different place as Chicago Comp Care is located on the 17th FLOOR!!!! Macys is across the street and you would need to be superman to hear through walls 1/4 mile away. That being said, I have been going to Chicago Comp Care for the last 5 years and Dr Sean is amazing, the therapists are all nice and know right where to go when I've strained something. I am a national level bodybuilder and often have minor tweaks and I can always count on Dr Sean to figure it out and make me feel 10x better when I walk out of there. read more

Went back again on Monday 2/21, now I can legitimately give this clinic a 5-star! My appointment was at 2pm, and Carol (friendly receptionist) calls to confirm my appointment in the morning. I like the personalized service because that sets my mind to ease, knowing the clinic is going to be well-prepared and ready the moment I arrive. Upon arrival, I was quickly led into the room with a different therapist from the last visit. Nevertheless, the therapist was still fantastic, went through my troubled areas before we started the session, and gave me greeeeeeeeeaaaat deep-tissue work on the shoulder! I had really tight knots from my desk-job, and the therapists worked through my shoulder systematically, with thorough explanation of how the muscles are interconnected. After the 30minute session, I was led back to the reception area while I wait to meet with the chiropractor. This is when they explained my insurance policy - basically, each session is billed as a "Chiropractic physical therapy," since the therapists are effectively working to relieve muscle pains and prevent further damages! Co-pay will differ depending on your insurance coverage. I am a lot more comfortable now that I learn more about what a "Chiropractor" really do for you! I was led into another office to meet with the chiropractor, and the nurses kindly gave me a "hot pad" to place on my troubled area so that the muscle can be loosen up with the heat. Dr. S. was professional as he noted my family history, past operations / issues, and appear to take genuine interest in knowing the patient! He then examined my shoulder & back to determine troubled areas, and offer advices on ways to increase my posture + follow-up sessions needed. Overall, I was very impressed by Dr. S and Chicagoland Comprehensive Care! Everyone I've met have been professional and courteous, not to mention how friendly everyone is! If you miss the personal touch you used to get from a family doctor practice + "Honey/Dear" from the elder nurses, you must check CCC out! read more

I went in here for a massage recently with a voucher. The front desk man is extremely friendly and nice, he definitely made me smile. So cheerful and happy. The location of the place is less than ideal. It's hard to find and you could hear outside noise during the massage. The place is right next to Macys on the pedway and I could clearly hear people at Macy's laughing and talking, it was pretty distracting. The massage itself was different than what I'm used to. It was a therapeutic massage but it was more focused on fixing my pain points, however it's been like 4 days since I went there and my back hurts more than when I went in. The masseuse really massaged the heck out of my back I guess. It kinda hurt. She would also constantly stop to explain stuff to me about the body and how it works, which was pretty cool cause I learned a lot, but when I go in for a massage I usually prefer to just be able to lay there and relax rather than talk. Personal preference I guess. If the location wasn't so lame it would have gotten 4 stars. read more

I started going to this place because they come to my office all the time to advertise by offering free chair massages and then telling everyone that it's free to stop by for an adjustment and a massage because it's covered under our company health plan. The doctor Sean is fine, and you get a free massage every time you have an appointment. For a while I was going practically every week! The only problem is that the receptionist, Carole, is on you like a hawk as soon as you come out of the massage room to schedule your next appointment. I think she must work on commission because she has the tenacity of a payday loan salesman. I finally managed to break the cycle after the unpleasantness of dealing with Carole finally started to outweigh the pleasures of my free weekly massage. On one occasion, when I hurt my neck in yoga class and came by to schedule a last-minute appointment, she literally yelled at me in front of a full waiting room for not having scheduled my appointment in advance. Another time, I sneaked past her out the front door after my appointment while she was dealing with another patient. As I was walking down the hall towards the elevator, I heard the door open behind me and Carole jumped out and yelled, "Ummm, goodBYE!!!" As in, "Don't you dare try to sneak past me again without scheduling a follow-up." After that I stopped going, and Carole started calling me at work all the time. I finally got her to stop by claiming that I was now going to a different doctor. All in all, come here if you have the strength of character to resist Carole's bullying, because the doctor and the rest of the staff are very sweet and good at what they do. read more

I unexpectedly had shooting back pain, making it difficult to walk, sit, lay down, etc. I went here to see a doctor since it was close to my work. The scheduling and administrative part went very smoothly. Then it started to get weird. Before seeing the doctor, I was put in a room to talk to someone about billing. The woman told me that I shouldn't give any tips because I was in-network and the insurance would cover the cost of the visit. I was confused because I don't think it was necessary to tell me not to tip a doctor. Then I was called into what I thought was an exam room, but it was as big as a closet with just enough room for a massage table. There was a discarded, crumpled up garment on the floor. Another red flag, but I was in desperate pain. A woman came in and told me to lay down on the table, which was really painful. She started massaging, which did not help the pain as it felt like it was nerves inside my spine that was causing it, not the muscle. Then she started poking me extremely hard in the stomach on my sides. It was extremely uncomfortable and added to the discomfort and pain in my back. Since i felt the massage did not help, I asked if I could see a doctor or schedule a follow up to see a doctor. They explained that it was not possible and I'd have to come back for another appointment before I could see the doctor. Overall, totally did not help, and made me uncomfortable in many ways. Then I started receiving requests from my HSA about payments made to Comprehensive. They said that the charge was not covered by insurance. When I called Comprehensive to ask if they sent the bill to my insurance company, they said their computer system was upgrading and they would call me back. No call came. When I called them again to ask if they sent it to my insurance company, they said they didn't because it was out-of-network for me. When I asked why they initially told me it was in-network, they said their computer system made a mistake and that I should pay out of pocket. In summary, I wasted time, energy, money, and pain on this. I think they are running some type of scam and I would not recommend going there for any serious type of back pain. I've been going here every other week for the past year and getting massages from Christina, who is the best! She's great at finding the tension in my back and working it out. I always leave feeling like I got a good massage, which is only $10 with my insurance, so I love that. The receptionist, Carol, is very sweet, and she's been very understanding the few times I've had to reschedule without much notice. Four stars because prior to finding Christina, some of the other therapists I had weren't very good, so I can't promise perfection. But as long as Christina is there, they will have me as a patient! read more

About a year after I had a baby I started to get tailbone pain and my GP could not help me, I even went to physical therapy and nothing worked. I started seeing Dr Sean and getting regular massages to loosen my back and we are learning that it is the tension in my back that is feeding into the tailbone. Between yoga and stretching and these visits I am finally feeling better after 4 years of sitting related pain. It's such a pleasant experience from start to finish, seeing Carol, getting a massage, catching up with Dr Sean while he does adjustments. Don't feel pressured to make any additional appointments you don't need and Carol will understand (just say no thank you!). I don't have time to make it more than once a month and it works for me. read more

I had just quit my chiropractor after going twenty five times and my back was killing me. I found a groupon and went it the next daily. The therapist is sooooo gooood and nice. She actually examined me for problem areas to see what technique would work best. When I left my back felt amazing and has not hurt that bad since. read more

I was a client of Chicagoland comprehensive for a few years. The doctor there is awesome and some of the massage therapist were pretty good. However, they were never able to keep the good ones. I too was a fan of Carol, the receptionist, who had always been quite friendly until the day I called to complain about a mass in my back from a massage, this was 2 years ago and I still have that mass (lump) in my back from an over zealous massage therapist. Carol turned very ugly very quickly telling me that none of their therapist could have caused my problem. Her handling of the situation was very hurtful. Proceed with caution! read more
