Why does everything in a house start breaking at the same time? On top of that I decided our old window treatments weren't quite right for our new gorgeous bathroom so reached out to my trust decorator for recommendations. She said she's had nothing, but great experiences with Gotcha Covered...and looks like (based on the stellar reviews) that many yelpers agree. I called last Monday and found time on a Saturday morning for a sales rep (Jay) to stop by. Saturdays are ideal for my work schedule, although when he stopped by at 10am I had 3 kids I had to kick out of their rooms (especially the teenager) so he walked into a bit of craziness, but didn't seem bothered by it. Within an hour we chose hunter douglas room darkening shades for my kids rooms, as well as a custom made silhouette window shade for our bathroom. My decorator facetimed to help us pick a color and fabric for the window, which ended up being a quick 5 min call. We were able to match all the shades to the existing trim in all the rooms and then Jay was off. Jay promised a quote by Monday, but delivered it Saturday afternoon. While pricey it ended up being much less than I expected (also included a designer referral discount) and I"m really happy with everything we ordered. I did think about shopping around, but decided to just go with Gotcha Covered based on the stellar reviews, great service from Jay and the price seemed fair (even chatgpt agreed :)). They required a 50% deposit to place the order and promised to deliver/install in 4-6 weeks. I'll update my review after installation, but I'm happy so far!

We recently built a custom home in Brookfield, Wi. Our builder had "their closet guy", but I was less than impressed with him. I was then referred to Zach at Chicagoland Home Products. He was wonderful to work with. At our initial meeting he showed up to the job site early to not only measure the closets I was planning on doing, but he measured all the closets and pantry for future referance. He was very thorough in his explanation of their closet system, showed me ways to save money and listened to our needs. We then communicated via email and he sent detailed 3D drawings that we could see exactly what we were getting. Very helpful for us. He mentioned that he also did blinds, no pressure even after I mentioned I already had someone. We were so impressed with Zach, his worker, we then decided to have him bid out our blinds. Much to our surprise he was very competitive, actually beating pricing from Budget Blinds! Edit to add to the owner's response:…read more The owner is a blatant liar. Also, near blind as he doesn't seem to recognize the difference. To correct his lie, they never offered the free replacement. I initially held the remaining payment expecting them to address the issue, but they threatened me with things like filing a lien. So I paid the remainder. I even paid extra to replace the incorrectly installed drawers, which were flat drawers. The second time, they were installed incorrectly again, differently designed shakers. The result is what the photos here show. Extremely irresponsible. BTW, you are the one who did incompetent job and you want to move on without fixing it? What a joke. --- This was our 2nd time working with them. The first time, back in 2020, went very smooth, so we decided to work with them again for our new home. This time it was night and day. It couldn't have been worse. We chose shaker everywhere, but noticed the design draft showed the top drawers flat. The designer told us it was a glitch in their new software, but they went ahead and installed the flat ones anyway. I asked to have it changed and held payment until they fixed it. Instead, they blamed me for an outcome I supposedly approved, and insisted I pay extra to make them shakers. So I did. Then the final result came out like the photo. There's an obvious discrepancy in the width of the cove area (the sloped section between the outer and inner profiles). The designer couldn't even see the problem. The owner never responded at all. I even filed a complaint with the BBB, and they never addressed it. So the BBB closed the case. It's painful to see them treat me like this when I liked them so much 5 years ago. Avoid these crooks if you can.

I also had a custom closet that needed to be repaired, which was from another company that was out of business. Brad also came up with solutions to fix that closet. Angel, the installer, was efficient and did a terrific job! The closets turned out great! Everything was spotless when he was done! Terrific experience all around.

The lack of professionalism and inability to apologize for their shortcomings is staggering. The…read moreonly way I can rationalize their 5 star reviews, is that they must have been paid for. From start to finish, which was very short lived, they were rude, delayed, and disorganized. I tried to set up an appointment via their online booking form. It took them 2 days to get back to me. No worries, I understand, they are busy. The woman finally gets back to me at 5 :30 p.m. on the weekend of Xmas. I respond with a confirmation first thing Monday morning and she notifies me that someone else has my appointment time already. So apparently, they give out the same appointment time to many people and it's first come first serve. This is where is all goes down hill. I let her know I think this practice is unprofessional and tell her that that 9 a.m. (one of the other appt times she offered) will work. No response. Nothing, nodda, zip. Day of appointment: Door bell rings 30 min early and it's some guy (who knows what his name is because he never introduces himself). We inform him that he is early and we aren't ready yet. He tells us that our appointment is for 8:30 (nope, it's 9) and then tells us that he has other appointments and can't accommodate our time. Then, he looks through his phone for the email chain and sees that it's actually set for 9 a.m. because he backtracks and finally says that he can do 8:45 a.m. Fine, I'm not happy about all of this, but fine. Through all this he never apologizes. He rolls back up at 8:55 a.m. and when I answer the door, I explain to him that I'm confused by the mixup and let him know about the email exchange with the lady behind the email. He says, "Well, I'm here now so we can move on". Um, no, we can't. This is just getting worse and worse by the second and I tell him so. He comes in and as I'm letting him know that I'm upset by their unprofessional behavior and disorganization, he just stares at me. Doesn't say a word. At this point, I'm fed up and tell him an apology would appropriate. He then starts blaming ME for their unprofessionalism and horrible customer service saying that I took too long to get back to them in the first place. At this point, I told him to leave and escorted him out. I have no idea if this was Mike, the owner, or not, but this was one of the most appalling customer service experiences I've had in a long, long time. This was NOT 5 star service as suggested by the other reviews on here. I guess, your mileage may vary with these guys? So, I'll be using another company to make my spare bedroom into a walk-in closet. In response to Mike's rebuttal, I wish he would have apologized for any of the mix ups at any point, however, he never did. Despite his completely inaccurate account of the story, much of which I have emails to prove. If he finds it insulting to know that I found the email exchange and early arrival to be rude and unprofessional (the "insults" spoken to him), then so be it. Hopefully he will learn from his mistake and provide more professional service to his future clients. And yes, I am the one that booked the appointment, and emailed with him the entire time. My fiancé opened the door.

I had Elfa in installed in the primary closet many years before this, but for both form and function, these closets were easier to adjust and looked nicer in my opinion. The price point was also so solid, no premium pricing for a brand name. Almost 8 years later, my condo flooded and the units were damaged. Philip provided a prompt estimate to replace the damaged parts and the work was completed quickly and is like new again! I appreciate his kindness and the way he was able to offer a solution without completely charging for a full closet replacement. Truly, my only regret is not having him do the closets in my new condo, but the builder was using another company and it definitely ended up costing me more for a similar product-- with less ability to move shelves/hanging rods around after install.
