The art on the park is one that has more of the feel of the art yet the no names of the artists .

Of the many areas of the city of San Diego there are those that have many years of history to the starting of National City for the Bario Logan My le of Cars that has many historical places. Chicano park was one of the many that were here in the city that were near the ship yards for the construction of the Coronado Bridge that was being built over the park many of the races and ethnic groups that lived in the Bario Logan.. Of the many parks and the historical places that are the many that have been created by the construction companies for the park has been the bottom side of the bridge yet with the art work brings color. Art work that has been show cased in many ways here in San Diego to being life to the many parts Chicano Park has made use of the many spires and the he columns to showcase art. For the art work that has spread out over the many areas from the park that showcases many artists yet the art work has no titles or the artists names. To showcase art work you need to have the artists names and the piece of the mural or the wall mural that has been done. The art work that has been created over the many years that Chicano Park has been here there has been many artists that created great murals on many parts. The study of art and the many artists that tells so much of the area and how the art work tells how the park how history of art is told not to be shown as graffiti. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer there have been times that I've seen the many parks yet this one that has been the artists of the past the 50 60 70s the art shows over the many support cement pillars . The bridge and the park so have history of the many years . Chicano park can say is one of the artists zones that has shown about the history of the Bario Logan area.

    Beautiful, just beautiful

One of the best things you can see in San Diego. Truly unique, truly beautiful. Tells a story from generation to generation. Better than a museum and FREE! There are a few unhoused people around, but they don't bother anyone. There are families having a picnic, and kids playing with their parents. It's not like a hot bed of crime or anything like that. And the restroom situation has drastically improved since the last time I was here. They are safe, stalls have doors again and they go a fresh paint job with murals and art on the inside of the restroom walls too.

Great park to see murals and walk around. There is parking on the sides. There are also tables and trash cans.

Chicano Park has so much history. Being Mexican American and seeing our culture all over in Barrio Logan was amazing. The Chicano Park art is a must see wow!! What a work of art telling the stories with it . This park has a playground and a plaza in the middle . We got tickets for the Chicano Museum near the park it was small but very cute and educational. General admission was $8 dollars and for community admission is $3. Overall this is a must visit park . I want to go back .

Nice tiny park to walk through and enjoy some local art on pillars. Few tables and benches to eat at. The surrounding area and neighborhood is also artsy. Easy on the eyes and culturally special too.

This place brings me hope. Love. Strength. Courage. And pride. Knowing this is my community. Although not big, everything about this place helps me feel whole again. During the days you can see people playing games, to chilling, to burning medicine, to having a cookout. I especially like to come during the many different cultural celebrations to support local and BIPOC owned businesses. The history is fascinating on the walls. It's in the grass. It's in the courts. And if you listen closely enough it'll speak to you!

Fun to walk through and look at all the art. They were still painting more when we went. Had a stage like area and a playground.

Lots of really colorful and vibrant artwork under the overpass in Barrio Logan. People were reading, taking photos, and looking at the different murals. I felt safe there going there in the morning. Pros: -There are multiple picnic tables scattered throughout -There is a children's playground -people were playing basketball across the street -free small parking lot for park Cons: -n/a

The murals are beautiful but it doesn't feel super safe down here. Lots of homeless people are in this area but come during the day and take lots of pics.

We've been to Barrio Logan numerous times over the last two decades but never taken the opportunity to visit Chicano Park ... until recently.  Chicano Park contains massive murals, painted on the pillars of Coronado Bridge, that depict the life and struggles of San Diego's Mexican community.  We took our time walking through the park, gaining an appreciation for the Chicano art on display.  The iconic images, originally created as a form of protest, are colorful and moving.  I highly recommend visiting Chicano Park ... and learning about the history of the park before your visit.  Knowing the history of the Chicano movement and the park helps with understanding and appreciating the artwork.  There's a small car park, and most parking is on city streets.  We took the Blue Line trolley to Barrio Logan and walked from the station to the park. There are public restrooms. [Note: Celebrating my 900th Review]

Such a beautiful park. The art is so amazing. Each painting tells a story. I am so happy i finally was able to stop and see this masterpiece in person.

I never realized how social and outgoing I was until I was stuck at home in quarantine / shelter in place. I just knew that I liked to stay busy, keep learning, stay creative, and be happy. Good Vibes Only! I needed to get out of my apartment and do / see something creative, so with a little quick Google search, I was able to find Chicano Park. I visited Chicano Park in June 2020 (3 months after pandemic started). My first trip outside of my apartment (aside from going to the Grocery Store). I definitely had the feeling of FREEDOM (so to speak), jajajaja. According to SanDiego.org (website), Chicano Park is the geographic and emotional heart of Barrio Logan, located in Logan Heights, San Diego's oldest Mexican-American neighborhood. The park is home to the largest concentration of Chicano murals in the world with more than 80 paintings on seven acres dotted with sculpture and gardens. Pictures looked beautiful, I busted out my DSLR camera and drove there on a Sunday morning. The area isn't that great, but it's okay, I went during the daytime and only stayed for an hour or two. Murals were beautiful; I was able to walk around comfortably with my facemask on but had to avoid the playground area (congregation of people and their kids). Definitely fulfilled my craving / need to get out of my apartment and do / see something creative. ENJOY!!

Some awesome murals at the base of the Coronado Bridge. There's a rich history of social protest in this park going back to the 1970's.

It's super accessible with ample parking, and I love that there are multiple entry points and routes you can take depending on how long of a walk you're in the mood for. This park truly has something for everyone. There's a splash pad, basketball courts, a great playground for kids, and even a giant chess game, which is such a fun and unique touch. It's also an amazing place to walk your dog--I bring mine here all the time, and he absolutely loves all the open grass and the variety of paths we can explore. One of my favorite features is the set of stairs that lead up toward the residential areas and the dog park. If you take them all the way up, you're rewarded with really pretty views at the top, which makes the little climb totally worth it. Overall, Civita Park is clean, well-designed, and perfect whether you're looking to be active or just enjoy a relaxing afternoon outdoors. Definitely a Mission Valley gem!

Lately, with temperatures 10 to 19° above "normal average" - or maybe it's just the new normal - it's hard to recall the last time we got to experience a cool day. But here, the way the gazebos, tables, and benches are set up reflects a pretty severe case of denial that this is Southern California, and not quite within walking distance from the beach. It WILL get hot whenever it damn pleases, with or without notice. It did so in February already, in case you missed it. We came a few times for the farmers market. Both days were unfortunately " 80°F" her weather report, which in reality feels like 92°F, and we had to scramble to find a little bit of shade, so that we could eat our street food without passing out from heat stroke. We huddled awkwardly on the curb under a small tree. Other people passing by with food in their hands looked at us with envy. NOT A SINGLE PERSON sat on the readily available benches with tables, because they were in the blazing sun, yet lacked any shade. Never mind an umbrella, not even holes to put one in!! Denial much?? It's really sad, because it's a beautiful place. It just DESPERATELY needs more shade for the visitors to feel comfortable without clinging to trees or the bathroom walls.

There are four big pine trees with separate retaining walls around three of them for owners to sit down. With it being so close to the bay, there's often a nice breeze that goes through the park. There's no divide between small dogs and big dogs, so it's best to just keep an eye on your dog, and many owners around here are usually respectful. The street parking immediately adjacent to the park is free, however, it has a limit of 30 minutes, and the parking meter workers are strict on it if they're around. I bring my dog here around lunch time because those who live/ work in the area tend to bring their dogs during their break time and my dog gets his socialization time. They close 8am-11am MWF for maintenance/ cleaning. Currently, both gates are broken so it's not as secure as it should be, and who knows when the city will actually fix it. There're a few agility structures and a water dispenser. The children's park itself looks pretty cool for kids with a lot of structures with slides and swings. There's also another separate area with fixed exercise equipment that looks well- maintained. The water feature in the park is a water feature, not a pool.
