There is a ridiculous amount of work that is impossible to complete in time...because there is NOT ENOUGH TIME!! They are refusing to pay me because I was unable to complete my notes within 48 hours because I was working myself to death and driving all over the valley until 9 pm, multiple nights a week. They were kind enough to let an org we volunteer with use their car park to feed hot meals, and deliver snacks, drinks, hygiene, pet supplies, and clothing to the less fortunate. It is an impressive facility offering a variety of programs and activities, they have a basketball court, a Healthmobile, and one of my favorite groups is for Grandparents who are raising their grandkids; they meet once a month for the adults to socialize, and the kids to play and engage in other activities. Was very impressed with the facility and the staff, the local Councilwoman came out to help us serve. We look forward to further collaboration with our neighbors in need.

I am super irritated with the service my mom received. Well, I could have helped my mom just fill out the papers she needed to be fully covered but chose to let her go to this place since they are experts. Big mistake. The lady that helped her kept telling my mom that her parents never asked for anything and that they worked all her life. I won't go into too much details but she made her feel like she was doing something wrong. She came home crying saying she shouldn't of applied for anything. To top it off the lady sent in her ahcccs application without a signature which only delayed her process. Very irritated. So much for being a community center.

This where the excitement ends! Scheduled a meeting to meet with Homeownership Advisor L. Thompson. When you call, they assign you to an advisor. Was finally able to schedule a meeting date, considering I was only able to choose between the hours of 9am - 3pm. As if I don't have to go to work, the advisor said it would be 2 hours long or longer!!!! Whatever, I had to remained focused on the bigger picture......my house purchase!!!!! Meeting day, and I am having car problems! So I take my car to the dealership, and while I am trying to get that matter taken care of, I call my advisor. Of course I would get her voicemail! Hang up, talk to the service advisor and then call her back. VOICEMAIL AGAIN! So I have about an hour until my meeting, but considering drive time, I decide to leave a message to let her know I was having car problems, am at the shop now and trying to make it to her on time. I expect to be there on time, or possibly 10 to 15 minutes late, but still coming. Finally get out the dealership and on my way! Get there about 15 minutes late, but I did give make heads-up what happened and the possibility of being late! That did not matter, since I sat in the lobby for another 25 minutes before she came to get me. On the way to her office, I asked if she received my message, and she said no because she was working on another project. Get to her office and her message light is on on her desk phone! Ugh! Thank goodness I had all my paperwork completed, except for one signature page. She proceeds to ask some basic questions and enter stuff from my paperwork onto forms on her computer. She runs my credit and takes my $20 and then prints out the forms she filled in and my credit report. She highlights items on my report and then proceeds to explain the forms she printed off. She kept that explanation to a minimum and would only go into detail if I asked. Meeting last about an hour, if not 45 minutes, and was supposed to have a follow up call with her 2 weeks later and send some better copies of bank statements. Really left there with no idea of possible programs or what other services they offer. Sent the revised documents that night and asked for confirmation of receipt......that was the early part of March and I am still waiting on confirmation of receipt of documents as well as that 2 week follow up call. Now the intent was supposed to help you get your credit in order to purchase a house, why did I have to ask for sample letters? Very disappointed by the lack of service and response, I called about 2 weeks ago asking for a different advisor. I was told B. Lopez was their Supervisor, so I left her a message and asked her to give me a call to discuss the matter. Well, I am still waiting on a phone call from her too? I guess that is just how things go around that place, so sad! I am trying to understand how you are around to help people become homeowners, but can't respond to customers that are on a mission to get a house. I could have saved my $20 and started working with a lender! At least they respond to emails and phone calls! I had high hopes with dealing with Trellis, but this type of customer service has really made me think twice about it. I can say Pedro Nunez was very helpful and informative, but he is a loan originator! I am supposed to deal with him sometime after the follow up with my advisor, but that obviously is not going to happen! He was more helpful and informative in 20 minutes, than my advisor was in 45 minutes! So sad!!!!

Case Management will help you get your social security cards, IDs, AHCCCS, your mail from CASS (if it is still going there,) they will help you get whatever you need to be successful when you complete the 30-, 60-, or 90-day program, depending on your insurance. CPLC offers grants for those who have no insurance so they may stay for little to no money while the Case Managers work on getting you AHCCCS. We have two Hispanic chefs who are Amazing, you will gain weight! The clinical team, from the Clinical Lead, substance abuse counselors, group facilitators, the CSS staff is always ready to talk if a counselor is not available, as is the peer support specialists. Everyone at Corazon is ready to help you learn to be drug and alcohol free. There are rules of course, but where is there not any rules? The point is, 99% of us love what we do, 85% of us have been where you have been (yes, we are recovering addicts and many of us have been to jail and/or prison,) and the ones who do not have personal experience have family members or friends who they have watched go through it. This is a true not for profit substance use disorder facility for men. Many come from the Reach Out program from Maricopa County Jail, though there are a few self-referred. Phoenix Youth At Risk is a non profit mentoring organization founded in 1987 to help at-risk youth of the greater Phoenix area redirect their lives with the help of adult volunteer mentors. The goal is to help kids and teenagers recognize and expound upon their potential as outstanding citizens. They have two programs. The New Pathways Mentoring Program is a 9-month program consisting of one-on-one and group mentoring for teenagers who may otherwise fall through the cracks. The Positive Adult Leaders in Society (P.A.L.S) program matches youth ages 5-15 who are in homeless transitional housing with adult mentors for at least one year. Having never mentored in my life, the thought of helping a child was intriguing and scary all at the same time. I decided to jump on board with Phoenix Youth at Risk nearly 2 years ago and was immediately paired with a wonderfully gifted teenage girl. The P.A.L.S program asks that you be able to commit at least one hour a week to taking your youth out for at least one year. You could simply take them out to lunch, out bowling, to a museum, to your home, or the like. You become a positive influence in their life through just being you. It's an incredibly simple premise, yet one that can leave a lasting impression for years to come, for both mentor and mentee! Joining this organization was one of the best decisions I've ever made. There's no greater joy than helping a child see their full potential and I can say that the joy my youth gives me is the same, if not greater than the joy I give her. If you want to make a lasting impression in a child's life, please consider Phoenix Youth at Risk as a valuable life changing experience for both you and your youth! They are ALWAYS in need of volunteers, but especially adult males willing to mentor boys!!

I felt that some of the questions were inappropriate and it made me feel uncomfortable answering them. I don't think that anyone should be asked about their sexual orientation or if they had experienced any abuse in their lives. I realize that this is a nonprofit organization working with at-risk youth, but I felt like this organization delved a little too deep into a potential volunteers personal history. I think their initial screening and some of their requirements limit the amount of volunteers that they get. Unfortunately, this effects the amount of mentors available for the children in the program. The interview felt more like a very intensive and revealing job interview more than a volunteer interview. In addition, I felt a bit judged by the interviewer when I answered some of the questions. I left the building thinking my time would probably be better spent someplace else.
