Employees don't understand how to groom a tree, or bush, prune too much, and cut the grass so low that it's dirt. Numerous neighbors have complained about them not following work orders from homeowners and not destroying the plant life that they install. Just to focus on what's within the contract like reshaping originally installed shrubs in a beautiful way, spraying chemicals on everything, and not cleaning up clippings. They just suck! This excuse is not logical or valid, just like your charges. - Thank you for clarifying that I lived within 10 seconds of your business so it would not have been a hassle to come back on a non-rainy day. - Thank you for demonstrating that you took more time to respond to this public review than the many emails I sent you. I did not want to drudge up more drama or for this business to threaten to disclose my private information and address. There's a reason I waited until I moved across the country to post this reviewed. I was scared! Giving this business your credit card is a carte blanche for them to rack up charges. You are not charged for each visit, but for months at a time. The explanation is that weekly visits are not guaranteed, but your contract guarantees them weekly payment. I was charged extra to weed wack part of my yard that had a gradual 6-in elevation difference and therefore was not mowed or edged for months. No permission was sought of course for this extra charge.

I contacted Nature's Friends to sort out my issues and Cliff was over at my house in no time. He talked through any prior water retention issues I had, and came up with a plan to future proof our house from any flooding that could happen with big storms. The crew were back out within a few days and executed the plan as Cliff specified. The laborers placed one of the pop-ups a little too close to the house, and without any intervention, the day-of-supervisor spoke with me to let me know they would extend it according to plan, and corrected everything. They also replaced my sump pump, which was not the easiest thing due to a seized grate closure (see pics), and at a fraction of the price quoted by plumbers. I was really impressed with how quick everything was completed, and for a job like this (digging long trenches to run PVC), my yard looks nearly immaculate. They gave me instructions to heal the grass patches so my lawn would look as it did before in no time. After the work was done, Cliff reached out to make sure all was working well when it rained. I highly recommend reaching out to Nature's Friend for any of your needs -- you can tell they really care about their customers, and I will be reaching out to them for any future landscaping needs.

I chose American Landscaping based on an interaction with the owner, Karen, and the quality of the actual estimate. I was not disappointed at all. Matter of fact, the crew went above and beyond on the cleanup. From dealing with Karen to the men who came on the property to perform the work. Great service all around. Was it the lowest price? No, but I never tend to buy low bid for something that involves danger to my property, the people working, or my neighbor's property. All the estimates were within 10% of one another, for whatever that is worth. Already talking with American Landscaping for our next project!

We had a stand of bamboo that we wanted removed, and American Landscaping in Silver Spring, MD, did…read morean excellent job. They came the day after we initially called and gave us a low quote. Their crew was efficient, was careful to preserve our perennials, and removed all the bamboo rhizomes leaving a beautiful area of clean raked earth. They cleaned up everything at the end of the day so that anyone walking by would never have known 24 hours earlier there had been a 35 foot high stand of bamboo in our front yard.

We are in Old Town, so Aaron said they can make the stone work look period and thought of some great natural stone options. He also found a solution for a major drainage issue we had.
