Called and Hailey helped me find a spot for three nights in the Wagon Wheel section, normally for groups. Easy hookup and facilities were dated but acceptable. A lot of seasonal campers here and everyone waived as they walked by and were friendly. Very large pool, but the weather turned cool. Easy 15 minute bike ride to Egg Harbor Train Station, where you can park your bike or bring it on board. 20 minute ride to Atlantic City, one hour to Philadelphia...if you don't have a car. Would stay again!

Being from out of town, Alex gave a quick tutorial on the bay, sailing boundaries and areas to avoid, from leaving the dock, radio check and arrival back, these guys were great. Boat was in perfect shape and we had an amazing time. The staff was really good with the kids. Will be back here for sure. They also have Hobie wave available which is smaller than the getaway and has only a main sail (no jib). I found the prices to be more than fair.

However you are wondering why 3 stars? My husband and I are intermediate riders and are used to certain rules. These include but are not limited to: helmets, trail leaders (bosses) take the lead, horses know exactly where to step and whom to follow, weight limits, etc. While not wearing a helmet was refreshing as a seasoned rider, usually there are helmets available and required (absolutely needed for a newbie). Maybe Covid is why but I don't think so. The trail boss was young and didn't have much control over the animals. My husband's horse was beautiful and we found out he may be a foundational horse, however he liked running people into the trees. My husband is a strapping 6'7" and despite tugging him to stop, he kept it up! The reins are really short and that seemed to be a problem for both horses. Only my saddle had a horn to hold on to. That would definitely be an issue for a new rider! I would suggest longer reins when trail riding and the shorter when teaching or pony riding. We really enjoyed our ride even if it was only in a large circle, again and again. Still great for the money and experienced riders but not nubes.

Went fishing with my father, brother and girlfriend and had a great time. The only downside was getting up at 4:30 AM to get to the boat before it left port. From when we got there the captain and mates were incredibly helpful. Whether it was helping with fish, bait or just stopping by to make sure everything is going well. The fishing was pretty good too. We sat next to a really nice old man that was really the comic relief of the boat. You could tell that he had lived quite an interesting life. And besides, he was at the age where he just didn't give a crap. Really made the trip more fun. Would definitely use this boat again.

I've only been fishing one other time (from the side of a stocked pond), but I was going to win that bounty. Captain Joe Sr. even confirmed it before we left to fish in the Delaware Bay. Well, I ended up with a 14" flounder and threw it back because it was out of flounder season and you need to catch those suckers when they are larger than 18" or something ridiculous like that. Needless to say, I didn't even have anything to compete with. Other than that, I just enjoyed watching the bf catch 3 good ones (which were amazingly delicious for dinner), his brother catch one that looked like it had wings (Super Mario Bros. was closer to reality than I ever realized), people watching the other fishermen on the boat, and the awesome crew that moved the boat when we weren't catching stuff, ran over to help get the big fish on the boat and fileted a beautiful piece.

Also, before they started camp; I verbally explained their issues and was told that it wouldn't be a problem because they had a severely autistic child already there & they would be supervised by their counselor. They emailed, texted & complained every day. I shadowed the most autistic child one day, and he was fine, the other child splashed water & was told to stop. Lastly, I gave them a $40 personal check for additional snacks, later to find out they didn't receive them bc they weren't on the list. Never, Ever will I let my kids suffer through that again. I think they are scammers.

I stayed on the Northshore campground with a 29 ft Travel trailer. We were in site 25. No problems…read morechecking in, driving in, parking. My first trip dry docking with a camper and I could not have asked for anything better. The park staff was amazing. Checking in was a breeze. If you want lake access, it's a trade off with close bathroom access. You don't get both. So, if you had to go in the middle of the night, it was an 8th of a mile walk. I would just drive. However, I think I wouldn't have minded it if I had brought bikes. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. I plan on going again, for sure. Now the park does have another camp ground that is more RV friendly. That is water and electric, and you can bring dogs. We may try that one next. Belleplain is a must.

About the most boring hike I can remember. Nothing scenic or interesting. Mile after mile of flat land and pine needles. Park police way more interested in making sure your dog is on a leash than in telling the guy who starts his generator at 6 am and let's it run until 10 pm to turn it off.
