One word of advice. Check your receipt to see if you paid the correct amount. I noticed later that the online menu and the in restaurant screen said 15.99 whereas my receipt said 16.99. When I confronted the cashier about it, he said the computer said 16.99 and it's the most updated price. If the computer said 1000 dollars, am I supposed to pay 1000 dollars? The agreed contract price is 15.99 and that should be that. Later the cashier went to the back (assuming to talk to the manager/owner), and he gave me back a loonie (technically it should have been 1.13, but whatever). This place chose to use metal utensils instead of single use ones. The knife he gave me was quite disgustingly dirty (see pic). The food itself was decent. And for the amount of food, the price is very reasonable. I got the Raven Platter. My friend's fish platter was also decent, but looking at the texture and color, we couldn't tell if it was cooked thoroughly or not. We chose to keep eating and hope for the best. I finished most of my food, but I couldn't really comfortably eat all of the food, not knowing whether the plate or anything else they used was really clean to begin with. I'll come back and edit the review should anything happen :/ We probably should have brought up the price discrepancy issue AFTER we got our food. Needless to say, not gonna come back. Quality: 6/10. Overall a bad experience and didn't get to eat. The menu was a convoluted mess. When we finally ordered the grilled peri full chicken combo, they said it's for takeout only. Fine, we switch from dine-in to takeout. After we paid, they said we had to wait 20-25 mins because full chicken isn't cooked yet. They wanted us to switch to half chicken. Very good. Husband loved the fried chicken and impressed with quality. He got the 3-piece combo and the fries were enough for 2 people ! Large portions. Combo only 9.99! A steal. I had the fish platter (12.99) and while good I really don't cared for the cheap standard restaurant options of flavourless tilapia or basa fillets. I would have preferred another option such as salmon. I had the peri rice which is a type of spiced rice and a side salad. The salad was good quality as it contained spinach , tomatoes and cucumbers along with the iceberg. They have a veggie burger which I will try next time. I also appreciate the variety of sides you can get including potatoes or corn. The peri sauce was very spicy and I enjoyed it. Where to go for dinner is always a conundrum. Decent reviews had us coming in to try it out. The restaurant is on the north east corner of Markham & Lawrence. Since we'd never been it took us a while to go through the menu and all the various selections before settling on 4 pieces of grilled chicken and a, delicious looking, poutine. The lady behind the counter was patient and didn't rush us while we pondered our options. There's a small seating section to the side and if you're dining in they even bring your food to you! Sit down restaurant style service from a fast food looking place. I was even more impressed when corning dishes and metal cutlery was used instead of the usual plastic cutlery and styrofoam containers. We ordered mild for the chicken and thank goodness it was actually mild. There are sauces on the tables if you feel that you need more of a kick with your food. The chicken was juicy and tasty and not the least bit dry. Watch out Nando's, you got competition! I stumbled across this place in search of my next meal and am I glad that I I did! This seems to be Scarboroughs answer to Nando's Portuguese chicken... Let me tell you, the flavors are out-of-this-world delicious! It's located in a little ghetto strip mall but don't let that fool you... This place is a must-try! Honestly- the walk in special for $19.99 with a large side is so worth it. Their rice tastes a bit like afghan style (think baamiyan kebab). Their chicken grilled well almost like an improved Nando's and their option of sauces are great as well. Although the chicken was juicy, they're really stingy on the extra sauce. When I'm in the restaurant, there's no limit on the sauce but I requested extra sauce and they gave me two super small containers. We also got peri fries which were phenomenal! I've been going to this location since they opened and the service/food is usually really good. I've had one or two bad experiences but not enough to put me off from this restaurant. I'm a huge fan of the steak sandwich especially on Fridays where its the special and you can get a combo for around 10$. This place is very reasonable price wise for the portions you get. Came here today as I was craving for some flame-grilled chicken, and was so glad I did! The place was almost empty as we came around 2 PM on a Saturday. Since this is my first time here, me and my BF decided to get their quarter chicken with one side combo ($6.99). I got my chicken with lemon peri flavor and my BF got his with suicide peri flavor. We didn't wait that long for our food to come, maybe 5-8 minutes and I was surprised at how large the side is!! Overall the serving is pretty good for what you pay. The lemon peri chicken is awesome, there is a hint of spiciness and it is a little bit spicier than the Lemon Herb sauce at Nando's. Chicken is fresh, tasty, and the side is pretty good too! Their suicide sauce is good, very flavorful, if you can withstand a fair amount of heat! We also decided to order 2 more pieces of fried chicken for $3.99. You have a choice of hot or mild. Be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes for this, as they make it fresh.. when the food finally came, we were impressed by the crispiness of the skin. Went yesterday to pick up and order and none of the employees had or were wearing masks including the cashier (young guy). When I asked why they didn't, he asked me why he should be wearing the mask to which I told him about Covid and the fact we were in a global pandemic. This is the last time I would ever go there. Chicken here is better than Nandos, very flavory and tender! Corn is buttery and refreshing, they add lemon juice in it. I tried the hot level and the waitress warned me it gonna be very spicy, but it turns out to be very good and not very salty. Next time I'll try the suicide spicy. I came to Chick Fiesta expecting decent Portuguese chicken and left a tad disappointed. Personally I am a huge fan of Portuguese chicken and found that the quality of Chick Fiesta is not up to par as some other places. While I haven't tried too many Portuguese chicken places here in the GTA, I have had my fair share in Montreal, where I had absolutely phenomenal chicken. I ordered the half-chicken meal which came with one side for $11.99 before taxes. That's a pretty good value compared to Nandos, which you can only get a quarter for the same price. I was expecting a complete half-chicken, not chicken pieces and this is one problem for me. While the flavoring of the chicken was good - good amount of spices and their piri-piri sauce is pretty decent as well, the chicken failed to impress me. It was just average, the chicken could have been more juicy and the lack of crispy skin or even skin in general led to the unsavouryness of it. That being said, the chicken was grilled pretty well. I was also pretty disappointed with their potatoes as well, and their combination with the lemon piri-piri sauce just didn't work at all. Siesta or fiesta? Definitely the latter! There isn't even a comparison to Nando's because Chick Fiesta is miles ahead in every single category - chicken quality, flavour, service, you name it. The menu as of 5/1 had a ton of different specials. If you're a student, there's a student lunch deal on weekdays starting from 11am. There are specials for every weekday that include the main entree, a pop, and a side. We were there on a Wednesday which was the chick burger. There was also a $5 Ramadan special that included several different items but I believe that might be a limited time offer. Since I was there with one other person, we shared the 4 piece grilled combo and a side of poutine. We had the poutine come out first and it was the perfect poutine. I find that with a lot of poutines, you only get surface love - there's only gravy and cheese curds topping it but once you get down deep all you have is dry fries. Not at Chick Fiesta!! ALL of the fries shared the delicious salty gravy and even the cheese could be found on the very last fry that we ate. Absolute perfection. The chicken? THE best grilled "fast food" chicken I've had in a long, long time. Swiss Chalet as a full service sit down restaurant doesn't even come close. We received two thigh pieces and two drum sticks. Both were wonderfully juicy. The skin was spiced really well and not something you should skip! All the pieces were covered in the mild peri peri sauce which was true to its spice level and only mild. If you're looking for dessert, they have that too! They have all different flavours of Kulfi popsicles including malai, mango, pistachio, and almond. We skipped out today since we were full on delicious chicken. Other things worth noting: - Huge parking lot so it's easy to park near the restaurant - Located on the opposite end from the Shopper's - They bring out your food to your table if you're dining in - Clean washroom! - The two ladies at the cash were super sweet :) I'm going to be thinking about this meal for a while! read more

We had asked for recommendations on what people get which is typically the peri chicken. Always complained how there weren't any Portugese Chicken places in Scarborough and then this place opened up. The flame grilled chicken is great. I've had their Peri sauces from lemon to hot and they're all good. The rice is also very good and is seasoned with what seems to be an African mixture of spices.
