Where to begin. So I'd been seeing these ads, especially with the mac n cheese, and I was trying to remember why we never go here. I knew it was because we weren't impressed, but it's been years and I couldn't remember the specifics so I decided to give them another chance. This location doesn't have sufficient parking, so I knew my app order would have to get picked up in the drive-thru. Unfortunately this drive thru is always busy though too, so nothing fast (and still can't figure out why people eat here unless out of habit). I'll start with the Cobb salad that is pretty small. We chose the nuggets and expected to get nuggets, but apparently they just chop up the chicken anyway, so not sure why they offer 3 choices. There were 4 very small slices of egg, 2 the ends and 2 with yolk - not good when you can't even make a salad. The mac n cheese that brought me in was definitely not creamy, nor baked. It was dry and clumpy and they make no effort to ensure they even get the "baked" topping in each one. They are also only about 3/4 full and I'm used to other places that actually fill the container. The strips were the tiniest things I've ever seen anyone try to pass off as strips. Really not in line with the competition and not crispy at all (although the Polynesian sauce they have is good). The waffle fries were so clearly undercooked (thank goodness for air fryers) they looked like they were just thawed and never touched a fryer at all. Somehow they also don't manage to fill the container like everyone else does. Lastly we come to the grilled chicken club sandwich. I mean, this is restaurant pricing at this point rather than fast food, so I do have expectations that you're at least as good as the other fast food chains. Nope. It was way smaller and dry. It consists of chicken, bacon, unmelted cheese, tomato, and wilted lettuce. I'm not trying to take my sandwich apart to put the sauce on, kind of just wanted to eat it, but I had to make it better. Good food per usual same as the service but I swear it feels like every time I go they give me the wrong food. I have celiac disease and can't eat fried food, so I order the GRILLED chicken nuggets or sandwich w/ GF bun. Without fail, it feels, when I look at my food they do not give me the right food. Instead they give me fried nuggets or a fried sandwich, which I CANNOT EAT. It's not the fact they are giving me the wrong order, it's the fact they do not listen to me saying GRILLED. This has happened one too many times. The Lord works in mysterious ways. And those ways are called terrible service and experiences. I ordered online to make things go quickly. Not so fast. I show up and the parking lot is packed. No parking so I cannot go in and get order. Once in the parking lot you are stuck in the drive thru line basically. The order takers flock to me and I let then know I have an online order but not able to park. They roll their eyes and reluctantly tell me they'll bring my order or I can get it at the window if it's not to me quickly. So I order online and get to go through the drive thru. Make it to window and they cannot find my order. Ask me to park and come in. Again i let them know there is NO PARKING!!!! So they tell me I can just order at the window that my order must have been canceled. I order and as soon as I pay they ask me to park again!!! Third time. Ha. So I pull around and park by the curb and wait for someone to leave. Finally get my order and the food is meh. I finally recover from all the young high-school employees eye rolling and parking demands and decide to check my bank account online. Guess what? I was charged for my online and in person order. So I call the store and apparently there is no option to talk to a human. So i call corporate customer service and request a refund. They tell me they will forward to the location. We will see. Save yourself some time and go online and order then just drive to KFC or Popeyes and pay again and get food without the bozo show or the Lord read more

Kicking people out of the dining room because not enough staff? It's 90 degrees outside and my husband was there for work. He had done a mobile order and went to sit down and put in his table number in when he was asked to get up by an employee because the dining room was closed. There was a long line of people trying to order with everyone having to stand in the small area by the register. . What an ordeal! Drive thru is prob the biggest hassle, from either direction.. park across the street and walk over, lines aren't as long ordering inside!! I'm almost embarrassed to post this. Yesterday was my first time ordering from Chick-fil-A. I was SO NERVOUS after all the hype. My expectations were once again high. I ordered through DoorDash. The delivery was fast even with it being dinner rush. I got the spicy chicken sandwich, macaroni and cheese, waffle fries, and the frosted lemonade. Wow. I don't know where to start! The sandwich was pure quality. Fresh, hot and juicy chicken, crisp and delicious with the right amount of spice. The waffle fries were great for what they were, no complaints. But the macaroni and cheese was legit 11/10. I am so picky about Mac and cheese. I don't even like classic kraft. I'm more of a beechers fan. I was not expecting this dish to be as good as it is. I will return many times for this alone. The frosted lemonade was blended perfection. It's one of those drinks you can't stop thinking about when you want a refreshing treat. This is probably going to be one of the most biased reviews you might read. So if you do not like Chick-fil-a then just skip this review. Having lived in the South, Chick-fil-a holds a special place in my heart. I rarely give a fast food place more than 4 stars, but you just can't find nuggets better than at this place! The cost might be more than average for a fast food place, but the food is also more than average. In fact it's great! If you get a chance the lemonade is one of the best. Oh and also make sure to get the lemon meringue pie! There really isn't anything on the menu that isn't good. Well except for the pickles, I'm not a fan of pickles. ;) The service and service standard required by Chick-fil-a as a whole company is some of the best that I have ever seen. The servers are always kind and helpful. They will also walk around and ask if there is anything you need. For kids, this is one of the best places. The play area is great and a much needed distraction while waiting for your food. Which won't be that long. Also there are placemats that help keep the food from being all over the table. It's a great option for little kids. I really am happy that Chick-Gil-a has come to Portland but if we could get one in the Springfield area I would be overjoyed! Since we were shopping at Clakamas Mall on a Saturday night and we were so close to Chick-Fil-A, we stopped by to get food before we headed off to our hotel. Did you know that the owner of Chick-Fil-A gives their employees Sundays off so they can spend time with family which means they are closed on Sundays!! This is such a wonderful thing to do! When we arrived, the parking lot was a mess, and the drive thru was packed. My other half waited in the car since he couldn't find parking. I walked in to get our orders. The line wasn't as bad as the drive thru. The cashier was very patient and answered all of my questions, since it has been too long. I ordered our spicy chicken sandwiches and the famous waffles fries and when the cashier asked what kind of sauce would you like? ah the memories, I said can you give me one of each. As I bite in to my spicy chicken sandwich, which was so crispy, so fresh and cooked just right. No unprocessed meat at all, Tasted so good and so amazing, just as I remembered. Dipping my waffle fries and trying out all the different sauces, Yums!! I loved the waffle fries, so crispy and the sauce accompanied it so well. What was a stop at a higher and fast food "restaurant "ended up being a very disappointing visit. First I'll start with the food, I think is pretty tasty and like I said on the higher end of fast food however it is a bit overpriced for the quantity you get. I will equate it to Bergerville in terms of overall bang for your buck as far as quantity goes, but I would take Bergerville over Chick-fil-A nine out of 10 times. We spent 12 to 13 bucks and had a couple of teeny chicken strips and a rather small chicken sandwich and a small portion of french fries and a couple of drinks. Onto the service, which is what gets this location the rating that it has. I've been here probably four times and I would say two of those times I had exceptional service I would give it 4 of 5 stars. The other two times were polar opposite visits then the previously mentioned ones. This last one on Wednesday the 25th takes the cake. I'm out the front Counter getting ready to place an order when the staff at the drive-through which is right next to front counter crank up the radio. The songs are playing is a hip hop song about cocaine and how the singer loves cocaine, will go loco and kill someone and several times in the song uses some very colorful language. "F" the popo and dropping the N word as well. No I have no problem with music being verbally charged like that, I listened to more than my share of it when I was younger too. I was always respectful enough though not the subject other people's kids to hearing derogatory racial slurs or cussing, that just is uncalled for especially at a place of business such as this. Chick-fil-A has a reputation of being very family orientated and conscientious of everybody's beliefs and feelings, however the staff do not act in such a manner as was displayed on this evening. I was in line with a nine-year-old when this music comes on and the girls in the drive-through start dancing around and twerking, and the kid with me has this look on his face like he can't believe what he's hearing or seeing. He is not overly sheltered, but I don't play this kind of music for him to hear. I had asked the girl who is ringing us up to have them turn it down they should be playing that in this establishment and we look out in the dining room and there's other families out there that are staring up at the counter with a looks of disgust at what they are hearing. Ignoring us really, she said oh I'm sorry I know and then proceeded to finish our transaction. As soon as she was done she turned around to walk the opposite direction to go clean tables. Didn't say a word to the staff back there having a good all-time and shaking booties to this very inappropriate song for that place and time. I walked by the staff who rang us up as we were walking to the table with our food and said to her - can you have the manager come talk to me please, to which she replied sure. We're about halfway through the meal and I could see the manager talking to her and the other staff before coming over to talk to me and she walks up saying I heard you wanted to talk to me? I expressed to her what had happened and how inappropriate that is for a family establishment and she said in a condescending way oh I understand they lost their music privileges now. I was outside and I didn't know. It was plainly obvious that she just didn't really care, and she really is pretty close the same age as the other staff having a party while they work in the drive-through so that doesn't surprise me. I won't be back to this location, and I try not to eat fast food much at all so there's a good possibility Chick-fil-A Will be eliminated from my rotation regardless of the location. read more

03/12/19: 5.0 out of 5 - For a fast food eatery, if you want to call it that, this Chick-fil-A is superb. Although busy for being close to 9 PM, the place is kept clean. The food is prepped and presented well, and it's tasty! The service is above and beyond some of the best restaurants in Portland. AND, without a tip jar! Went for dinner tonight and we waited 20 mins before getting into the drive thru of the parking lot where we were able to order from an attendant who held a small menu 2 feet away with small print and pictures. So I went with the simplest thing I could recognize and hoped it would be good. Then we ended up waiting another 25 mins in line as the other attendants brought food out to all the cars in line. None of which were not able to get out of the drive through and enjoy there food, because one customer wanted to change there order at the drive thru window. Instead of management asking them to park and take it out to them, the rest of the people in line ended up with cold food for dinner. Bad management and tolerable food, probably better if it was hot. When was the last time you saw fresh flowers at your table at McDonald's or Taco Bell or Red Robin or anywhere for that matter?? Another thing I always notice is that Chick-fil-A employees always seem upbeat and cheerful. Since living in the Northwest for the last 20 years, I've noticed Northwesterns always put down chain restaurants when a new one comes to town. They've always had better somewhere else. This was the case when Oregon got it's first Krispy Kreme, Sonic, and now Chick-fil-A. People say things like, "Its just alright. But I prefer my whatever from this other place." If you live in the Portland Metro and haven't tried Chick-fil-A yet, give it a try. It truly is an experience that's about more than just the chicken. Try the #1 with pickles or without or even with extra pickles. I prefer the 4 piece chicken strips and some Chick-fil-A sauce, waffle fries, and an Arnold Palmer. I'm here at 4:30 pm on a Saturday and the line goes past the door, I was really surprised because I didn't think the line would be so long during in between meal times. However it may be crowded because tmr is Sunday and CFA is close on all Sundays. Anyway the restaurant is clean with flowers on the table which adds a nice touch to the decor. Their food here is SOO good I wouldn't even consider it fast food because their chicken tastes incredibly fresh and moist unlike McDonald's. Their waffle fries are to die for with some CFA sauce and ranch. Even their salads are good! They have free WiFi here as well. There is a lineup of friendly and professional staff taking orders in the lineup of cars. The food is delicious and prepared with high standards. I have never had a wrong order. The staff genuinely appear to enjoy working there and it comes across in their service. The spicy chicken sandwich is my favorite! But they also serve wraps and salads that are very tasty and healthy. It's hard to even consider this place "fast food."
