Tried the new Chick fil A location in Roseville, MI. The service was fairly quick even though they only have one line right now, reserving the other line for app orders only. To start the waffle fries were the best I've ever had at any restaurant. Hot, slightly crispy, unlike some places where the fries are a bit soggy. However, instead of a chicken sandwich which I always get, I decided to get the chicken strips. Bad choice. They were dark, over cooked and small. Nothing like the photo on the menu. More breading than chicken. They're slightly larger than nuggets at other restaurants. Ate one out of the three and threw the other two away. Culvers chicken strips are 10x better. I would suggest using the app since that line went a lot faster than the regular order line. read more

I usually don't review fast food places. I understand being upset when a McDonald's doesn't care about you or the food, but you should know what you're getting into when you order from a fast food place. You aren't there for the ambience or the gourmet food selections. But, Franclyn - the cashier, who took our order - really made this something different from the usual fast food experience. She was delightful. She really seemed to care about us when she took the order, and then gave the same upbeat treatment to the customers that followed us. I'm sure she's not the only reason that this location - inside Hutzel Hospital - is hopping. For decades, fast food chicken in Michigan meant KFC, or some chicken-like thing from a variety of burger places. But, Chick-fil-A is really a cut above burger places. The fried and grilled chicken is as good, if not better, and than KFC. And, the chicken wrap with avocado ranch dressing is excellent. And, they have waffle fries! I can't recall seeing this at a fast food place before. And, in addition to the friendly service, they got our entire order right. I've gotten so used to fast food place is screwing up my order that this is a refreshing change. A good fast food chicken sandwich. Location is tucked away in the hospital, no line at 1:30 PM. 15 minute walk from Wayne State. Service was good. Sandwich was better than McDonald's or Burger King, but still fast food. Convenient if you are visiting the hospital or work in the area and want to see what the fuss is about. I will be glad when the new free standing location opens in Allen Park 2020. This location is in the hospital and doesn't offer the full menu (i.e. they do not serve the mac and cheese). I was in the Detroit area last week and heard that Chick-fil-A opened up in the area. Despite some of the other reviews hating on the fact that it's not a stand-alone place, I was a fan of it for several reasons: 1. The place will most likely stay in great condition longer. (By the way, I don't think I have ever seen a fast food restaurant that invested more in the aesthetics and decór than this location!) 2. Situated in hospital with lots of patients' visitors, the employees seem to be more courteous and sincere. 3. A stronger presence of police and security guards makes the whole place feel more secure. After living in CA for a few years where Chick-fil-A is everywhere, it's great that that we have a few locations nearby and still count on their delicious food and sauces, not to mention their famous fresh squeezed lemonade. read more

Gluten Free Review: I love chic fil a, and they are always great at accommodating gluten free, I usually get the grilled nuggets with fries. I'm giving 2 stars because this is the WORST location. I have had bad ordering experiences twice in a row. The first time, I waited over 20 minutes for food. By the time I got my my car, I realized that the food was rung up as an entree and not a meal so I did not get my fries. I was running late to get back to work, so I did not bother going in to correct the mistake & figured it was a one time thing. The next time, I made SURE to specify meal, to avoid that situation again. I asked the cashier to ring it up as a meal. When I got to my car I realized again that the fries were not in there, because it was rung up incorrectly as an entree. I went back into the location and instead of correcting the mistake they made, they had me wait in line to order more fries & wait again to pick the food up. My chicken was cold by the time I got to eat and the overall experience ran about 30 minutes to get fast food. Again, I love chic fil a, but I will never dine at this location again due to poor process & customer service. Note: I am not celiac & do not have issues with cross contamination. I am a fan of Chick-fil-A. The drawback to this and the Somerset location is that they are not stand alone and are incorporated into another primary business. The app does not allow you to order ahead for this location which is a disappointment when on the street parking can be a challenge. The customer service is excellent here as you are greeted upon entry. If Keith is in when you go he's awesome! I typically get the nuggets (original or grilled) with Polynesian Sauce and Cheese Sauce for my fries. Their lemonade is reminiscent of my great-grandmother's from my childhood. Their chocolate chunk cookies are AMAZING! All in all for me the slight inconveniences of the location are worth navigating through when I need my Chick-fil-A fix. read more

I'm really disappointed with Chick-fil-A here in the metro Detroit area. As a huge fan of your food it disappoints me that every single one of your locations in the Detroit area are inside of a building instead of having your own building with a drive-through. It sucks because I know you have several buildings in Grand Rapids and they have drive-through's and everything and I'm a part of a different business. And with the weather how it is here in Michigan last week I am good on walking through a parking lot just to get into a building that I have to pay for parking in the first place just to have some of your food. i'm not 100 percent sure why you guys went with this idea here in the metro Detroit area of not having your own buildings maybe you just couldn't find locations or you just got lazy but whatever it is it is very sad to know that you don't have standalone stores. Sadly this feels like a reason for me to start going to Shake Shack a little bit more since they have their own locations without an issue and I can walk up and not have to worry about paying for parking or walk-through mall just to get some food. Having lived in Virginia for a few years, I'm no stranger to Chick-fil-A. I was super excited when they finally came to Detroit. I went several times after their grand opening and was pleased to have that familiar deliciousness once again. On my last trip. I endured the line that is always long. However the service is always good and the line moves quickly. I got my Chick-fil-A original sandwich and of course the fresh squeezed lemonade. I was surprised at the size of the actual filet on the sandwich. I'm accustomed to a plump, juicy filet that covers the bun. What I received was something more like an anemic chicken tender! I tried to recover from this trauma by taking a sip of my lemonade. As the beverage hit my tongue and looked at the cup in dismay. Et tu, lemonade?! Where is your super lemony yumminess? How can this be? How can this be possible? I told myself that I must be in some Bizarro world. On some other plane of existence. Custoker service great and the food comes out fast if you are eating in. The chicken is juicy, fresh, spicy. The fries i loved so much and the chick fil a sauce hands down best sauce goes with everything and anything. The prices are bit too high but when you take a bite of that spicy chicken deluxe you will forget you even paid for that much money. They are very nice there, clean, organized.
