Ordered a Big Avo Turkey. No avocado at all, old cucumber. The cashier with the big dark lashes tried to put my change in their tip cup because she said her drawer doesn't have change and the line is busy and the other taller young man and young woman with the durag/glasses on were new (which I know isn't true because I saw them before on my last visit) never seen her. But excuse me?? I said "what did you say about the change?" She says it again Was I not apart of the busy line because you're distracted by your coworkers and trying to steal people's money or charge them when we scanned for our free rewards item!! I had a $20 bill She tried to work 2 registers not listening, kept asking "what you get?" "Just give me $15 (without ringing up the sandwich) "you're good you're good, cause it was like $14.50 I was just going to put it in the tip jar..Isaid I'd like my change! How or why would you tell me/the customer you're going to put their change in your tip cup!????? First you said you don't have change then you said you were going to put my money in the tip cup which means you have the change! She said no problem and proceeds to put in the order as she should've normally did and saw the total was $14.41 she gave me $5.58 and said "I owe you a penny" LOL just ridiculous! No one behind that register deserves a tip or change for that matter. They kept talking to each other arguing and asking again and again what toppings etc to each customer. I should've got out of line when the younger girl with the hat got an attitude with someone because she finished my sandwich and didn't put half of what I said on it even after confirming nor the avocado! I have not had Pot Belly in years. I used to get it from here all the time with a coworker who left our office about four years ago; it could be five years ago. It wasn't like I did it on purpose. Another coworker was eating pot belly, and I was like ok, I am going today. I got here, and it was pretty busy, but kudos to them for being very staffed with very upbeat and friendly people who got me my food quickly. Thank you for that. This one star is for the food prepared for my delivery order. I ordered extra meat on my sandwich and bacon on my salad. Neither was included in my order when I received it. When I called back to lodge a complaint, I was told by the woman who answered the phone that the manager said to call the delivery service. I would not order anything from this location unless I could see them prepare the order myself. I hope this review will stop at least one person from ordering from them. Everybody has the something they like in order for an experience to be thought as "i will remember it for how well they treated me." But that's not the case. I feel that it should be an employee's responsibility to make the place feel welcome, and easy to order. I had a guy take my order and prep my sandwich he seemed fine, and knew what he was talking about. But when we came down the line I had asked the girl "do you know how much my sandwich will cost me?" I read the menu but it didnt mention how much my sandwich would cost if it came with a different type of bread. The people on the line were already laughing at some joke that was spoke amongst themselves. "I dont know." replied the girl. The pause and silence of the remainder if time that it took her to grab my sandwich out of the toaster and set it up with its paper in front of her was shocking. Because she knew that saying just "I dont know." Could be replaced with, "im not sure but I can try to find that out for you." However she just says, "for your toppings?". I just tell her my toppings to skip any further dialogue, no thank you or anything for that one. TLDR: bad employee service ruins mood but food is good. read more

This is my idea of good fast food. Their sandwiches might be a bit more expensive than Subway but they keep me satisfied for longer than the bargain chain. I love their chicken salad, chicken salad salad, the new turkey bacon flatbread and veggie salad. Their croutons and fat free vinaigrette is to die for (I know, why FF dressing if I'm going to get croutons, it's like getting a diet coke with a burger but I can't resist, the combination is so good. The staff here hustle hard. They are pressured to move orders thru the line from order to output in under like 3 minutes, they're good at it too. I've never had a bad sandwich or salad, it's all very consistent and predictable. While I appreciate the speed, especially at lunch time, the way they go about collecting the orders is a bit too obnoxious for me. The order taker often shouts over your head to get the persons behind you. Between them shouting and the live music playing it's just chaotic. It is so, so awkward yelling your order over someone else. It's a constant courtesy battle there. It's much better when they come down the line with a clipboard to take orders personally. read more

I stopped in one day after work for a quick dinner. The place was almost empty. I wanted to try something different then just a regular chicken or turkey sandwich. I tried the pizza sub on flat bread. You're able to add on fixins subway style after the sandwich is made. The sandwich is toasted and it was pretty good. The only issue I would had was with the size of the sandwich, I expected it to be bigger for the price. The service was nice and friendly . They also sale cookies that are said to be baked fresh daily. I tried the sugar cookie, it was pretty good. Took a while to get greeted which makes it very awkward since we're standing about 3 feet from each other. Customers that ordered after me had their subs come out before mine...not even sure how that's possible due to the whole "assembly line" setup. It appears a business had put in a large "to go" order which the staff was not prepared for - everyone running around like crazy and seemed very disorganized and frazzled. This location caters to the business lunches of Southfield, and often has lines during peak lunch hours. The staff behind the counter delivers great service. The dining area is long and has lots of seating. During the warmer weather, they even have an outdoor patio to bring your lunch to. Although the food skews more expensive that their competitors, it is different enough to justify coming back every once in a while. Normally, Potbelly is a 4 star establishment BUT THIS POTBELLY gets three stars because the staff is in a perennially pissy mood. NOW, it could be because I always come in well after the lunch rush of douche bag yuppies. Or I could be a douche bag yuppie. Dunno. All I know is that on one a occasion I waited so long to pay that my sandwich got cold even though there was no one in line in front of me. And another time, I had a lady wave her hand at me and say, "Hello!?! What kind of sandwich do you have?" when I didn't immediately realize she was speaking to me. It just so happened that I was reading Yelp reviews on my iPhone about the allegedly fab service at this Potbelly's, which is why I didn't realize she was talking to me. That may make me a douche, but a customer nonetheless. Anywho, I am a fan of their sandwiches and I will continue to go back for my $4 skinny mushroom melt with extra hot peppers. (TIP: DOn't ever say you want lots and lots of hot peppers, you'll be in for a world of hurt). Try the skinny. TOPPINGS GALORE Even during a busy lunch hour, their staff pays close attention to detail and makes my sandwich exactly the way I tell them to without accidentally skipping out on anything! Marvelous :) Plus, they give me all the extra toppings i like, like their pickled hot peppers! mmm, i slather those on generously! GENUINELY NICE AND FUN STAFF Again, even with their busy lunch hour, every employee is cheery, inquisitive and fun to talk to even for a few seconds while you're moving along the line. The food is constantly good. The farmhouse salad is very good if you are there for lunch, they sometimes have live music. I wish they had chocolate mint shakes. Potbelly's as a chain generally makes good food even if their sandwiches are a bit skimpy (I recommend one of the "Bigs" items if you are going to go the sandwich route there). People rave over their mini cookies but they really aren't my thing. Shakes are good. Salads fine too. As to this particular location, they seem to be slipping over time. For instance, I ordered online for fast pick-up the last time I visited this location. When I arrived to pick up my food, they had my order in the computer but never thought to make the sandwich. So I had to wait while it was made... sort of defeating the whole purpose of ordering on-line some hours earlier. Pretty annoying. Very satisfied with this Potbelly! It's in a really good location, right off of I-696 and close to all of the office parks. There's a lot of parking too. I love the decor of this one; the booths are really nice and they have a lot of quirky knock knacks. There's a lot of big windows that make it look really big and let in a lot of weight! Very convenient location on Evergreen road with ample parking next door which is awesome. The food is basically standard for Potbellys but there are two downsides to this location. They are extremely busy and slow which is not great at lunch time to get in and out quick. And second the employees are relatively unfriendly compared to most. I generally get an eye roll or sarcasm when I come in here. Again food is standard but needs improved management at this location. read more

I walked in and went straight to the front of the line at the carryout register. I was greeted by the cashier who asked for the name on the order. The best choice in the immediate area for a sub sandwich. It gets pretty crowded at lunchtime, but the line tends to move quickly. There is sometimes live entertainment at lunch; one of the musicians is a friend of mine.
