Business was slow and he could tell we weren't regulars. Jesse approved of our activities and said he would check out the drag strip in Lufkin. I ordered the chicken strips with gravy for dipping. Jesse asked if I wanted the Texas Toast. He wanted me to know that it cost extra because if I wanted it and hadn't ordered it, I would be mad at him. I told him that it wouldn't have angered me, but for a buck twenty-five I got the Texas Toast. Our orders came out to our table in a few minutes. The chicken was hot, crispy and tender. The gravy was white and spiced just right. The Texas Toast was just... toast (IMHO) but it was good for dipping into my remaining gravy. My buddy got a double Whataburger with onion rings. It's impressive that wherever you go, their burgers are the same. The patties fill the bun and they're both big. Fortunately for me, my friend couldn't finish his onion rings, so I helped him out. So when you are crossing traffic from the opposite side your vehicle will bottom out. Same with exiting although it wasn't as dramatic of a bump. Just be aware of potential damage!
