This is my receipt... Looks to me to be about what I would have spent across the street.

Aaaaaand They're Fired! Working in Jacksonville, I've been going to this location for dinner for awhile now and have not been overly impressed. It seems that when I walk in I almost always stand at the counter too long without even being acknowledged. Finally someone in the herd of people who are always there will step up and take my order. They ALWAYS say "My Pleasure" like a freakin STEPFORD WIFE EVERYTIME you thank them... So I stopped thanking them... So I don't have to hear it... (It gives me the creeps.) Why can't they just say "HI, WE'LL BE RIGHT WITH YOU!" when you walk in the door and it's going to be a moment before someone can take your order.... Maybe just like I learned today they do directly across the street at KFC? You see for the last time today, I stood at that counter at Chick-Fil-A to be completely ignored by everyone there.... except apparently a manager with a carry out order, who held the door for me.... as I was walking out ungreeted, and unserved. I've not been impressed with the flavor of the chicken there. It has been inconsistent. Sometimes it seems over done, sometimes it tastes freezerburned? I've left food on the table, uneaten even after they replaced it... with the same freezerburn taste. Im not just bitching here the flavor has been right a few times, maybe half of the time... but you never know what kinda day their having until after you've first stood invisible at the counter for too long, got your order taken, with a Stepford Wife "My pleasure" salutation and then get over to your table to find out. If it doesn't taste good, you're out of luck becauseI've learned that if they replace it, it will be the same as the one you returned. This has happened more than once at this location. KFC took great care of me... and they will from here on out.

Service was bad, staff were slow and mean. Food tastes like the oil hasn't been changed in a long time.

Very terrible service and also got our orders wrong. The workers had a horrible attitude and was a overall a very unpleasant experience.

We have zero sense of direction, everything feels vaguely ominous, and we didn't exactly come for a leisurely getaway--we rushed down to Texas because my dad is dealing with a serious medical situation. So the mission is clear: get to my parents' house and help my mom. That's it. Survival mode, but make it family-focused. Then--plot twist--my sister and nephew call. They want to see us and casually mention they'll bring pizza. Now listen... in any other circumstance, I might pause. Ask questions. Do research. Vet the pizza situation like a responsible adult. But in this moment? Free food is free food, and emotionally exhausted people do not ask follow-up questions. So we say yes. And yet, there's hesitation. Because we are in this town. This mysterious, slightly cinematic, possibly haunted-feeling Texas town. And I don't know what a "local pizza place" means here. Are we talking hidden gem? Or regret wrapped in melted cheese? They arrive. Boxes in hand. No turning back now. We open them... and immediately--plot twist #2. It's actually really good. Like, not "oh this will do" good. Not "we're hungry so we'll pretend it's fine" good. No--this is legitimately solid pizza. Fresh, hot, clearly made with real ingredients and actual effort. Cheese, a fully-loaded "works" situation, and one mystery pizza that I didn't fully identify but enthusiastically ate anyway. And I didn't just have a polite slice. I went back. Multiple times. For all of them. They tell us it's a local chain and one of the best in the area, and honestly? I believe them. Whatever low expectations I walked in with were completely unnecessary. End result: pleasantly surprised, slightly humbled, and very well-fed. Would absolutely eat it again--especially under less emotionally chaotic circumstances, but honestly... it held up even under those. That's saying something.

The food, however, was hit-or-miss. The Brisket Nachos looked nothing like the promo photos--plainer with less brisket, though still tasty. Entrées like the Country Fried Chicken Strips, Brisket Quesadilla, Grilled Salmon, and the Wagyu Flat Iron Steak special were good, not great. Sides were average (the wedge salad stood out, but the green beans were forgettable), and they were out of the fried Brussels sprouts I wanted to try. Dessert--the chocolate cream pie--was fine but unremarkable. For what we got, the $140 bill with tip felt overpriced. Sadler's is a pleasant restaurant with good service, but the food quality doesn't quite justify the cost. Worth a stop if you're already in Jacksonville, but I wouldn't make the special trip again. The hostess was an absolute ball of happiness. Our server was genuinely warm and made sure we never needed a thing. One individual had reportedly been drinking since early afternoon, and by around 10 PM the situation escalated to the point where he pulled a knife and held it to my throat. This should never happen anywhere, especially in a licensed establishment serving alcohol. In my view, the lack of intervention and oversight created a dangerous environment for everyone present. Instead of taking accountability. Since the incident, I have personally observed what appears to be continued over-serving at the location, which raises ongoing concerns about management and staff practices. I strongly encourage management to seriously review their policies, training, and security procedures before someone gets seriously hurt.
