Love love this little restaurant! It's been such a jewel for many years. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is unique and comfortable. This trip was creamy tomato bisque with a BLTOA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and avocado) sandwich served with bread and butter pickles and chips. Always popular and deliciously extravagant dessert- strawberry cake! This is just like my mom's recipe and is something that is always amazing. Omg. Ritual was recommended to me.When I walked in I did not know what to expect because there was no seating. A young man greeted me and took me to another room. The decor was spectacular and the ambiance. I ordered the Avocado Quinoa and I had a latte. Everything was delicious. The young man checked on me periodically. I will be returning with friends. Ambiance: This is the most beautiful restaurant ever. It started out as an elegant luncheonette, light,bright, a pleasant place to lunch with friends. When the place next door became available, the creative owner expanded into it, adding a beautiful bar, elegant lighting, an atmosphere that is formal, yet with some rustic touches, like a wall that hints at the original structure. Food: When it was the original luncheonette, it featured a simple menu augmented by very fancy cakes and desserts. I thought it was the perfect "Ladies Who Lunch" place. The expansion kept the basic menu, eliminated the fancy cakes, replaced with a hearty daily featured special, often meat and potatoes, which can sell out early. Everything made on premises and very fresh and delicious. Rocky, the cook, is amazing. What else: This place is an original, run and staffed by locals. It is only open for lunch. Service is great. Generally not too crowded, ambient music not loud, very tasteful. Prices are a bit upscale "for Jacksonville" but very reasonable for the quality and ambiance. Had the most amazing brunch at this little gem in downtown Jacksonville Texas. Walking through the door, I felt like I had stepped into a French cafe with Southern charm. The food was amazing. I started with a latte that was excellent. It made the better for being served in a proper ceramic cup and not paper. It went well with the green chille quiche served with a salad of fresh greens with a lemon vinaigrette. The portions were large enough to satisfy and The croissant was also yummy. I left so relaxed and replete and thought how perfect the name was for the spot I am moving to Jacksonville and this will be my new Ritual. read more

Wait staff Although friendly will only give you napkins - Tea spoons- if you ask, even if you ask for sugar to sweeten you not so Sweet tea (No silverware is just handed out). Chicken salad is pretty good (if you like onions.) lastly originally I was only handing out a three star review but at the end of my meal as I sat eating my chocolate chip Meringue the owner came and ask how I liked everything- I told her about my tea -she took it away- came back saying you are very right the tea wasn't sweetened properly offered a drink exchange. I told her I'd just need the tea back and another dish sugar packs since id used all in the dish the waitress had brung earlier with out the benefit of silverware , owner brought the tea in a to go cup (bonus) and sugar, kinda hurried back to get a spoon. read more

This is a gem in Jacksonville! When visiting family, we usually go at least once and it never disappoints! This last time I went, I got a scoop of chicken salad, it was delicious without being too creamy or sweet. I finished the meal off with strawberry cake, it is 3 layers of fruity sweetness! The icing is perfection and the cake is moist; I also love their meringue cookies because they are light and airy! Visited Ritual on a Saturday afternoon and was highly impressed! The staff and owner were super friendly and accommodating to my mommy friend and her one year old. There is a beautiful wellness studio upstairs, which they use for yoga, that we were allowed to eat in. My friend's baby loved the open space! We could not get over how friendly the staff was! We also enjoyed the food. Both of us bought the BLTOA on a croissant, which was delish. I had an iced salted caramel latte, also delish. We had such a great time, we will be back again! read more

The staff was above and beyond friendly giving me a tour of the entire space after they saw me looking around. I met the owner Whitney and learned about her inspiration and motivation behind the shop. This woman is a gift to this town. She takes great care for her customers as well as the people in the area by offering free yoga in the space above the cafe!! I would highly recommend visiting for your skin/stomach/mind/body and shopping needs. I ordered the avocado delight and rose & elderflower lemonade and enjoyed every second of it. Oh, this place is darling! Better still the food & service is wonderful. I had a cup of beef stew, which was delicious! He croutons & cornbread are all made in-house. Everything is very fresh & high-quality. They are very particular about the products they use. We also sampled their organic frozen yogurt that's filled with healthy probiotics. Expensive! I got a tuna sandwich and it came with a bag of chips and a canned Dr Pepper and it was $15!!! It was not good, it had pecans in it which they did not tell me and I am allergic. When I was asking the lady about the tuna sandwich she just looked at me she obviously did not want to be there and work, nor know anything about the food because she did not tell me what all was in it.
