This is the kind of place you walk away from and think "wow they're really bad at being a restaurant." Yes there is a chik fil a in Albany now but once you eat there you will realize that it's actually just one huge disappointment. The first time I was here they were out of the yogurt parfait that I wanted. Not the craziest thing for an early morning over Thanksgiving Weekend. I then ordered a breakfast sandwich and a side of fresh fruit. Breakfast sandwich was decent and the blue berries in my side of fruit were moldy. Who needs coffee when the alarm of a moldy fruit salad can jolt you awake??? I learned my lesson and decided that I would stick to Chicken products only next time. Went again this past weekend and they were out of chik fil a sauce. what a disappointment. I would say I won't be back but unfortunately it's the only chik fil a for 100+ miles. Also, why is the only branch we have located in the airport after security?!?!? There are so many other places of Albany that this would have been way better in. read more

I like CFA in general; the food is delicious and this location didn't detract from that even though the service is a ZERO. Workers are rude and inattentive, they present themselves sloppily, the area around the ordering counter is a mess with napkins, receipts, and muddy floors. Service is slow. They could hire more people, but also the workers they have could be more efficient. They joke around with each other while people are standing in line waiting to be helped. They don't respond with "my pleasure" as is commonplace in every other CFA I've ever frequented. It's clearly NOT their pleasure to serve us, as is obvious by their lack of manners. Albany is not a great place to find excellent customer service when it comes to fast food or retail. I grew up here and worked here as a teenager. I know the culture generally doesn't care about customers. I would have thought we could have expected more from Chick-Fil-A, but they fell very short. I'd love to keep in mind that this restaurant only opened 13 days ago, but you would think that would give them incentive to work their little booties off and be eager to please. Save your money and buy Chick-Fil-A in Philly or any other airport in the US. Lol. read more

I assume this is the Chick-fil-A at the Albany Airport. This morning they were out of hash browns, muffins and I had to wait 15 mins for my chicken and biscuit. It was only 6:30 am. There were several frustrated customers. I had ordered cheese for my sandwich and it wasn't even beginning to melt as the filet had cooled by the time they put the slice of cheese on it. Being from the South, I was so excited for Chik Fil A They need Corporate to come out and show these filks hoe to run one. They only had one person on the register so you had to wait to order and wait again to get your food. The Sweet tea was not sweet at all. The chicken biscuit was good which is why I gave 2 stars. I tried to order a fruit cup and they were out, along with lemonade and bottled water. Hopefully they get their act together and it will be better stocked and run next time read more

This review is long over due. Visited on 11/18/19 and it was the worst customer service I've ever received. My colleagues and I couldn't believe the unprofessionalism from these team members. Especially one of the managers "adalise" who instead of taking responsibility, wanted to put the blame on "knowing her team members have a problem. She works with them everyday" But let me note it was two girls, and not the entire staff that were an issue. So sad. This should be a solid upstate NY intro to what I would consider the most amazing fast-food establishments available. However, they're sputtering at best with their offering/service. They seem understaffed (the theme of poor service throughout reviews is absolutely true). We stopped by after getting through security and there were 2 young ladies trying to tackle a very long line of people. Breakfast offerings are simple enough, but we waited an astronomically long time because the coffee ran out, the expo/food prep girl cleared our order from the screen without giving it to us - and when I finally asked she snapped back with an explanation that was irrelevant to our order.... come on now - let's not lose sight of basic customer service and snipping at someone before you've handed them coffee at 7:30 am is NOT wise. The food itself was OK, but the hash browns were ice cold and DEFINITELY not fresh. The attitudinal girl was comical as she said "my pleasure" to guests in the most disingenuous manner. I recognize the challenge of finding great help, but c'mon now, this is a horrific way to represent Chick Fil A - please don't judge the franchise on this operator's misfortunate management. Basic business overhaul is needed - even mediocre food goes further when service is above & beyond. They'll survive simply due to the limited airport offerings but sadly they'll anger passengers before they board their flights. read more

I'm On my 4th consecutive week of travel at 530/6am early am flights and remain appalled that the management of this chick fil A still is subjecting a young lady to working the early AM rush alone - line remains 20 deep - at least 20 min. I left my home and thru security faster than they will get food and i will not condone this port management by standing in their line. I have not been to a chick-Fil-A in years. Politics. We arrived at the airport and, if we wanted food, we had no choice. Very pleasantly surprised. Ordered the spicy chicken deluxe meal. Fast, courteous service, and--most importantly--the food was excellent. The chicken was fresh s d the fries were hot. Had to ask for salt and ketchup but they were provided with a smile. Too much anticipation leads to a lackluster experience. It's bad neigh the only way to get chic Gil a in Albany is the secure side of the airport. My wrap was completely tasteless. Great food no matter what time of the day it is. Staff is usually friendly and try's their best to be quick but is a little slow at times. Being that it's located in an airport and is franchised, they don't accept coupons or rewards cards which is a negative for people who have them in their home states. You do need a plane ticket to get to the restaurant as it is after security. read more

Chik fila is awesome. I am rating this very new airport location. Food was just fine. No pickles on the chicken sandwich. You have to ask for every condiment. I asked for ketchup to go with the famous waffle fries. They didn't have any?!!!!!? Chikfila nuggets with Chikfila sauce are really really good. So is the lemonade. I have excellent service with other locations but this location is awful. I ordered a meal. The girl took the order as it was individual items. Not being too familiar their system I was charged for the sandwich, the ice tea separately. There were no waffle fries included. I told 3 times I wanted a number 6 combo. The staff seemed depressed when we ate here 10 days before Christmas. The chicken sandwich was dry and lacked flavor. limited options at the Albany airport so i waited in line. as i was waiting I heard them say "sorry we don't have any chick fil a sauce" REALLY, that is what i go there for. Ordered a lemonade, "sorry we don't have ice". There is a very limited menu, a chicken sandwich or nuggets. There was an employee walking in and out of the kitchen with her mask below her mouth. Was Flying out of the airpirt looking for my much anticipated visit too this business only to get there and have them closed. This isnt even the major issue as i wanted for them to open originally told 10 15mins a hour and a half later the food that was sitting in the hot window the whole time was then sold to guests. Honestly so annoyed that my friends and I are having to plan a day to get together for a nearly 2 hour drive just be able to try chick fil a, when we have a local establishment lol. When opening a very loved chain that we as upstate natives have never gotten a chance to indulge in, it would make a lot more sense to put it some place where we don't have to buy a plane ticket to place an order. I remember a few years ago there was a times union news article, stating the captial region would be soon to get their first chick fil a! We were very excited. I'm sure had anyone known it would be behind TSA checkpoint at the airport, there would've been some outrage from the people who live here, esp those who do not travel by plane often. Worst customer service. At least 5 employees working without any communication skills. Line was long, no food coming out. 15 minutes to get food and it wasn't even the right order. No biscuits but they didn't tell us. My lemonade cup had a hair stuck in the lid. A waste of money because I'm dumping my food because I don't have time to go and return it. Not your average hospitable chic fil a. First we waited in line behind 15 people with only one cash register open. Manager was operating cash register and showed no emotion and very little interest to look at customers when ordering. Plus manager was so slow moving. Then, when I ordered my chicken minis he simply said "I'm out of mini bread". Only option was to have nuggets. No "my pleasure" no "it's a great day at chick fil a" nothing! Also when we got to the register it smelled like a trash dump. It appeared as though the trash run off had not been mopped for weeks.
