I seleom go here but when i want a quick sandwich this is a place I go to. They have a combo sandwich, chips and soda which a is a good deal. I ordered the spicy cheesesteak and became my fave. The bread they use is soft. The steak is not dry and very tasty. The spiciness is perfect. The place looks clean and they always had it ready everytime i ordered. Service is good. read more

I don't normally like chains. I like DiBella's. I enjoy the sesame bread and the cold cuts are decent. The Uncle Louie is my favorite sub with a nice mix of flavors. The Godfather is a tasty Italian mix too. We order on occasion when we don't feel like cooking. They have plenty of size choices depending on how hungry you are. SO I typically love DiBellas, and maybe it was just a busy night but I was pretty frustrated. The only bread they had was 10 inch everything bread and two 7 inch multigrain rolls, and the cashier taking our order was extremely brisk and confusing. The workers were yelling a LOT and they were focused more on the online orders, not the customers in front of them. I got a 7 inch sub on multigrain (my only choice) with oil dressing, lettuce, tomato, and grilled turkey. The turkey was burnt, and the lettuce and tomato were both very very skimpy. The oil dressing was SUPPOSED to be light and was definitely not. Overall, they seemed distracted and everything was just kinda OK not amazing. read more

I recently had lunch at DiBella's in Latham with my family. We had a pretty good meal! First off, I loved the vibe of the place. Yes, it's a chain, but still it's a nice recreation of an old school deli which I appreciated. It was also very clean and there was also plenty of seating and parking as well. We got a variety of subs and I decided to try their salad with turkey, hot peppers, olives, onions, tomatoes, and garbanzo beans. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, 3 of our 5 orders were incorrect, which was quite frustrating considering the effort we had put into specifying what we wanted. Nevertheless, to their credit, the staff promptly took care of the errors when we brought them to their attention. Despite the order issues we faced, I still find DiBella's to be a pretty good sub shop. Taking everything into consideration, I would rate them 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4 stars, primarily because I appreciated the food quality. For the last several years of getting Dibella's subs, they've been great. That ended today. I got a small vegetable sub with lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, cucumbers and swiss cheese... there was a half a slice of cheese, one thin slice of tomato and no cucumbers. Also, I had to hunt for the honey mustard dressing that was globbed in one corner. I've gotten this same sub for years and it was always fantastic. The continued consistency of delicious and quality subs at DiBella's is basically a reason why I don't believe I need to update my reviews here. But when I have an experience that deserves either an increase or decrease in the number of stars, I feel compelled to share that experience. I recently joined DiBella's Sub Club and was rewarded for my last order, the ability to save $6 on my next order over $12. This offer was time limited and I was down to the last day. I followed the instructions to log onto the web site to place my order. I was looking for where they told me to choose my reward, but apparently the manner in which I chose to place my order did not offer me the opportunity to choose a reward before my order was, in fact, fully placed. So my credit card was charged for the total amount with no discount. When I went to get my order I mentioned the issue to the clerk at the pickup door. She promptly said she would inform the manager and proceeded to jot down my order information. Now the drive home from this DiBella's takes about 15 minutes. By the time I got home I had received an email from DiBella's informing me that an adjustment had been processed to my credit card and I should see the credit within 3 days. Now, I believe when you offer that level of service to the customer you've earned an additional star. Thank you, DiBella's, here's a star high-five! read more

DiBella's is just around the corner on Wade Road in Latham. Latham location is great for finding food or any kind. We have food on almost every corner! I was given a choice of a fast food drive thru or DiBella's. since it has been quite some time since I had their food, I figured it was time. I ordered a sub which I hoped would be smallish. I ordered a small thinking that's what I'd get. the small sub from DiBella's is a regular from other distributors. Not in the mood for the usual premade suggestions, I went with a classic of ham and swiss. It is great that you get to select many options to put on my sub/hoagie. The list of extra's that do not have a charge was extensive. Social distancing dictated that we would complete the order online and pick it up. Obvious since there was a 25 minute wait, others went in that direction as well. That being said, 20 minutes later, I came to DiBella's and the subs were ready. When we got them home, they were exactly what was ordered. I did ask for extra lettuce. If that was what they put on for extra lettuce, I am unsure how to get across to staff that I really did want EXTRA lettuce. If that is my biggest complaint, life really isn't all that bad. Staff were very courteous. All had on the required masks. Social distancing was being observed. If you are looking for a sub, this is a good place to get one. read more

I came here recently and ordered some subs for my wife and I as neither of us felt like cooking. My "Old Fashioned was very good (ham, turkey, salami) and my wife's Turkey also was fine. However, they messed up a couple of details in the preparation of the subs. I gave my order directly to the manager in person and watched him fill out the paper form, circling the things we wanted, so I know what was written down was what I wanted. But, my wife's sub was cut the wrong way and it was missing the tomatoes she ordered. The rolls on both of our subs were a bit dry. In other places you could call them "crusty" and perhaps get away with it, but I have been here enough to know what their normal bread's texture is. Still, we enjoyed our food and they were prepared quickly. This is still my favorite sub shop, but next time I will double check before leaving that everything was done correctly. read more

Expensive, but worth it. Great location, near the Northway, Route 9, and Route 7. It's easy to see off Route 7, and there's plenty of parking. You order at one end of the counter, get a ticket, and then go to the other end of the counte and wait for your order to be finished. The process takes about 5-10 minutes. It helps to be very specific when ordering. I make sure I explain exactly what I want, and some times I find myself having to repeat it more than once. But the staff wants to do the right thing, so just be patient and be clear when ordering. Subs are the main item on the menu. You can also get chips, salads, drinks, and desserts. This seems to be mainly a takeout place, but there is plenty of inside seating. There is no wait staff, so you have to bring everything to your own table. A step up from Jersey Mike's, but not up to par with some local delicatessens. Definitely worth a trip, when you're looking for a large, high-quality hot sub. Was DiBella's the best sub I've ever tasted? No, but it was pretty darn good. Having great bread really amps what was a pretty normal sub up to a 10. The everything seasoned bread - holy cow! That should be an option on every sub everywhere. The portion size was larger than expected and the price was reasonable. They lose a star for the convoluted ordering and paying process - it's one of these places that gets annoyed when you aren't a regular and you don't know what you are supposed to do. Ordering and paying shouldn't be a confusing process - and it was here, at least for this first timer. Restaurant and restrooms were very clean and great from a Covid standpoint as well! read more

It was mediocre as I ordered The Godfather with lettuce tomato onion and banana peppers. Pretty skimpy for a 14 dollar meal and it was more bread than I bargained for. I really feel sorry for this chain because despite an incredibly good sub, they can almost never get an order right. Sometimes it is a missing cookie or chips, but other times it is even worse where an entire order is just wrong. One time they only delivered 1/2 the order. I was reimbursed, but big deal. They should have wowed me and made the extra effort to deliver the second half at their expense. Occasionally they have given me a discount coupon for the inconveience and missing items, but just as many times they have replied with a "we're sorry and have a nice day" with no reimbursement or coupon. I keep coming back to them because their food is incredibly good, but I am thinking that I may be done now. The idiot writing down peoples orders with a big marker had no clue what anything was, the roll was burned and hard as a rock, the meats were lacking, and the toppings were minimal. They must not want to make subs while people are standing there anymore so they can do whatever... I am sick of paying top dollar for crap food. Done going here. First time at DiBella's Subs, but probably the hundredth hoagie shop I've been to. I was visiting the area for a few weeks and thought a sandwich would be nice for the evening, and this place came up as one of the highest rated in Albany and surrounding areas. Boy that was definitely right. I had at least two other sandwich shops in the neighborhood and this one was definitely at the top of the list. I got a turkey sub customized the way that I like it. 1. All the ingredients felt super fresh. 2. It's nice to talk to the person who is actually making your sandwich, that way there is no confusion on what you want. 3. Quick in and out even though there were a bunch of people there. Ticketing system helps with that. 4. Loaded with meat, even on the standard option. 5. Fresh bread, a lot of places use less than fresh bread and there is a huge difference. The only thing I can say on the con side is that basically all the staff seem to be very young and the natural inexperience that comes with that can sometimes be visible. Of course, they all seemed very nice! Overall, check it out for your next sub sandwich! read more

Like most of these other reviews have said, Subs here are quite big if you're an individual person and just buying for yourself definitely get a small; a regular can be shared by two people easily. My wife and I split a Philly cheesesteak regular size and I think it was about $9. They also had a large size for like 12 bones. Definitely sign up online for their email club as it will get you a free regular sized sub! No coupon needed to print...once you've signed up you get your sub by giving them your phone number at the register so give then the correct phone digits when you enroll online. Our sub did not have as much meat as we would get at Jersey Mike's, but that said, it's a lot cheaper at DiBella's. The same size sub at Jersey Mike's is five or six dollars more! The bread here is good. We tried the traditional white, but they also have several others including sesame and whole grain. They have like 6 different kinds of cheese from which to choose and even have Mac salad, potato salad, cookies, pickles, and chips to buy on the side. Standard Coca Cola/Dr. Pepper offerings. A small soda is 2.09. Tons of seating and strong, free WiFi. Two entrances, so it's easy to find your way inside. You order cafeteria style just like at Subway or Jersey Mike's. For chain sandwich joints, DiBella's may be the cream of the crop. Always good service, always tasty, and large portions for the price you pay. I first had DiBella's while living in Buffalo and never turned back. Seriously, Subway does not cut it after you've had DiBella's and see what a chain sandwich place could be. Walking in the door, the first thing you see is a small bakery in the corner. That's right- rolls and cookies are baked in the store. All subs are made to order with your choice of ingredients. They ask what condiments/ toppings you want and you tell them. Nothing you don't want will go on your sandwich. The whole kitchen sink or just meat and cheese? They'll make it and get it right. There are a dozen or two pre-selected meat and cheese combinations, or you can build your own sandwich. A "small" probably has more food than a Subway footlong, while the medium and large are massive. Inside each sub is a layer of meat at least an inch thick. A normal person can be full after eating a small and two could reasonably split a large. The prices look high, but given the sheer amount of food you get, you could get a large and end up with a second meal to take home. On my last visit (last night), I got a small Uncle Louie sub (ham, turkey, and roast beef) with swiss cheese and lettuce. Tasty as always and I was full for the rest of the night. The ONLY thing that would make DiBella's better is if the meat was cut fresh for each sandwich, as it often is in NY-style delis. But they still slice it every morning for the day's sandwiches, which is better than many places can say. Summary- a damn good sub with lots of great options for toppings and some cool bread choices. Food- 4 Stars The Dagwood was better than the cheesesteak I had at the location in Albany. Their Cheesesteaks are simply under seasoned in my opinion. I would stick their cold stuff. I like it that they offer some good and interesting bread choices and three different "hot" peppers as well. The everything has kind of a hard crust, almost stale. I am not sure if that's because it's everything or if I am the only one who ever orders it. Atmosphere- 4 Stars Feels like sub shop to me. Clean too. My first visit to this DiBella's (which was my first visit to any in the chain) was pretty good, perhaps the most enjoyable sub I've had from any sub chain (but I'll still pick a deli over any chain). My biggest ding was that my wheat roll was slightly overbaked - dark though not burnt, slightly dry and chewy, but otherwise okay. But that was not enough to char my opinion (pun intended, sorry). One thing I did appreciate is that they don't use the "assembly line" structure that so many other sub chains use. You don't get, for example, "Hi, I'm person one, and I'll slice your bread... hi, I'm person two, and I'll add the mead... hi, I'm person three, and I'll add the condiments... now which sub in front of me was yours?" No, in this case, you get one person in charge of making your sub, and you have a nice assortment of options ranging from specialties to make your own. This particular Italian sub reminded me the most of the type of subs I used to get in the one sub shop in my high school town. Another thing I appreciated is the rather large dining area, which is definitely needed during lunchtime. And since I just happen to be making a road trip into the midwest later this year - the "heartland" of DiBella's, I now have a pretty good idea where I'll get lunch on the road. read more

I was first introduced to this chain in Rochester, New York, back in 2007. I was happy when the first one opened near SUNY Albany, but even more psyched when one opened in Latham (which was a more convenient location for me). The Latham establishment started out ok, the service was decent, but it very quickly fell off. Whenever I went in the place was understaffed and it was always a long wait, so I started avoiding eating there. Other friends had reported that the restaurant was out of the bread/sub roll that they wanted. I moved to the other coast and recently came back to visit Latham, I am happy to say that I had a very positive experience at DiBella's. I went on a workday at lunch time and the counter was appropriately staffed and the line moved QUICKLY. My parents had previously had an issue with their meals and that made them avoid this eatery, but they said the taste had since improved and they will be back. I would also like to point out that the sizes of the subs are quite generous. I would recommend getting a medium or large, that way you can have a second meal out of your sub for not much more money.
