I have noticed that I get my food faster inside at times, verse going in drive thru. I went to this location near closing time and ordered the 30 count grilled nuggets for a part of my meal prepping cause I got off late and didn't want to cook at almost 10PM. When I was dividing my meals into 3 ten piece portions for work the next day, I realized they only gave me 23 "nuggets" which pissed me off tbh. This Chick-fil-A location always seem to get our order wrong every time we go. It could be something small like, leaving the cherry on the milkshake when asked to leave it out, or large like giving us a salad instead of a sandwich. If you're in the drive through, make sure to check your food before driving off because 2 out of 3 times it's going to be wrong. I love Chick-Fil-A, I even sometimes forget it's closed on Sundays. I have to admit I have been to a lot of different locations and this location is now my favorite! When I first walked in I couldn't help but notice how clean this location is even during the lunch rush hour. All of the staff was super friendly. I mean they were genuinely friendly. The cashier was so sweet and patient, the employee that brought the food to our table was so respectful, and the manager even took the time to go around to each table and greet everyone and ensure they were satisfied with their meals. What really caught my attention is that when I went to go ask for a small bag to put my leftovers in, I was immediately acknowledged by an employee. Normally I have to wait a little bit to ask for a simple bag; not at this location. I will definitely be going back. read more

Some, however, have been a bit comical: Like the time I was served a CFA Chicken Deluxe with the top part of my bun missing, or a recent trip where my regular CFA sandwich contained the smallest chicken breast I've ever seen on a sandwich followed by another trip two days later for chicken strips, two of which appeared to be from the same batch of dwarf chickens. But I still love the chicken--even the small ones. So let's land this plane on a positive note. The workers are *always* friendly. I know that's CFA's schtick, and not every person's "my pleasure" is genuine at its core, but it seems that way so it's a win for the customer IMHO. Last week, I had one worker open the entranceway door and greeted me as I walked in for my Chicken, Egg and Cheese biscuit. This is one of the best chick fil a locations I have ever been to in the Norfolk/Virginia beach area. The service is outstanding and the food is cooked perfectly every time. My go to order is the 12 count nugget meal with fries & a sprite. I am also a huge fan of their deluxe chick fil a sandwich and the original chick fil a sandwich with pickles. I was a skeptic about the chick fil a sauce at first (the color threw me off to be honest), but finally caved in & tried it. I absolutely LOVE it now. Make sure you download their app for free goodies! I have ordered sandwiches, fries, milkshakes, and breakfast biscuits all for free because of the app. It is so worth it. This particular location offers outdoor seating. During the summer, my husband and I will bring our dogs and eat outside! If you haven't checked out this chick fil a, make sure you do! Yes I know, 5 star for fast food, but take the time to read the review. It's honest and the rating is well deserved. Service here is always excellent. We don't come very often, usually during bad weather or oil change at tread quarters as a treat for the little one. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and seem to go the extra mile to make sure that we have a wonderful experience. Simple pleasantries go such a long way when the customer interaction isnt very long. P I really like that they do small books instead of toys. It's cool that they have stick on placemats for kids. The kid play area us nice, not too big easy to keep an eye on your child. Two glass walls with tables allow adults to sit and eat while the kids play inside. THE interior is very appealing. Updated modern, clean lines, and not cramped. Flowers on all the tables is a lovely touch. 2 condiment bars so you're not walking all over the place. There is always a staff member walking g around offering assistance and cleaning. I do like that they bring the food out to you if you dine in so there isn't a cluster fudge of people at the counter. Now food. It is fast food. I'm not expecting a 5 star culinary experience. What I do expect is fresh food made correctly. I get this every single time and with a smile and thank you. This is something other quick order places in the area are lacking hardcore. I go to this Ghent location probably once a week (because I live right across the street) and I leave frustrated more times than not. They do not do one for one as cars pull up, a good majority of the time, two people in the other lane will be helped before anyone even acknowledges that I'm sitting there. Don't bother asking for a couple mayos (because they will give you one) or extra tortilla strips for your salad (because you won't get it). Additionally, the staff at the window have zero manners. No "thank you" or "you're welcome." And don't bother mentioning the fact that you waited in line for 20 minutes during non rush times and four cars to your left went before you because the girls at the window usually catch an attitude. read more

I would like to see this Chick-fil-a get a little quicker with their service! The line may not look long but with two lanes merging into one to pay and pick up, you can end up waiting upwards of 15 minutes just to order! I've been to others that employees take your order on an iPad in line and it's much quicker and also to ones setup the same as this but that are able to move traffic through in a much quicker fashion! The Ghent Chick-fil-A has a convenient double drive through and a spacious dining area inside the restaurant, though due to the heavy foot traffic it's not always the cleanest place. The service is prompt - something to be expected of fast food - and the quality of chicken, like other restaurants in the chain, is serviceable enough. The classic chicken sandwiches, without the meal, are under $4 and are tastier than similar chicken sandwiches at other fast food chains like Wendy's and KFC (and thankfully not dripping in grease). Chick-fil-A also has some very good, fresh squeezed lemonade that's better than the sugary, high fructose corn syrup laden Minute Maid lemonades of other fast food chains. Overall, this Chick-fil-A is good for some quick, mildly satisfying chicken sandwiches that won't make a dent in your wallet. The first thing I noticed was the cute Christmas decor and the 21st century modern interior. Big open seating area, a play area, clean and beautiful. The staff here if friendly. Very sad experience there. After consistently receiving soggy chicken, I decided to try the product well done. It was great. Came back to get another sandwich a week later and it's back to being soggy. When I went in to request the sand which to be cooked longer the manager refused and said it would take too long and burn the peanut oil up and it would have to be changed too often. I understand that you are worried about the cost of replacing oil but it seems to me like you are trying to stretch it longer than you should which is disgusting. I will never be coming back to this restaurant because of the manager with the painfully thin mustache and his idea that cutting simple corners is okay. This location is terrible. Extremely slow. The level of customer service that one usually associates with Chick-fil-A is almost non-existent here. It doesn't matter if you try the drive thru or go inside. You'll be waiting longer than you would at any other location. This was a valuable and very good pickup for The City of Norfolk! The Monticello corridor has been reinventing itself the past several years with new construction. There's the new behemoth sized HRT Headquarters, four consecutive blocks (from 14th to 18th streets) of newly constructed multi-storied housing residences, a remodeled factory that now houses a One Life Fitness Gym, a Cookout, and now this sparkly new gem in the form of a Chic-Fil-A restaurant. Located off of Monticello Ave., nestled between 16th and 17th streets, this Chic-Fil-A serves an area that's about a mile north of downtown Norfolk and 20 yards east of Ghent, lol (and that's if you consider Monticello to be the extent of Ghent's reach. Everything to the right of Monticello is NOT considered Ghent). Ahhh, who doesn't love the technicalities, right? So anyway, what you'll notice right away when you arrive is that this building is one handsome jewel! I mean, it really stands out compared to the other restaurants that form a cluster on this stretch of Monticello. The builders did an awesome job on the facade making it look like it belonged in an urban setting versus something you'd see near one of these suburban malls. The outdoor seating area is beautiful and there's a play area for the kids as well. Parking is abundant. Inside, I was struck with how big the place was. Of course, being new construction, everything looks great. The tile, the tables, the walls, the decor, Chic-Fil-A really paid attention to the details and nailed it. I ordered my usual number one combo with the Polynesian sauce and the food tasted great. It was hot and fresh which lends itself as to why CFA is one of my favorite fast food places to visit. One of the main things that I value most about Chic-Fil-A is their customer service. If there was anything about this location that I would say isn't quite up to par yet with the CFA standard, this is it. From my own personal experience, I wasn't treated rudely but I could detect a small amount of indifference in the staff. Once you grow accustomed to a certain level of service, you tend to notice when things aren't quite "clicking". I want to attribute this to management style and the fact that the store is still relatively new. Sometimes "expansion teams" take a minute to develop chemistry. Forreal, this girl went above and beyond when taking our order & helped us sort out our meals so we got the most bang for our buck (like trading out one large fry to just giving us a large combo). She was really genuine in our conversation and even though I usually have good experiences at CFA, she deserves the recognition for her service. Besides that, the food was still hot when we got home, the chicken was bomb & so was my chocolate milkshake. There was this guy who didn't have enough money and looked like he was low in income overall judging from the state he presented himself. The employee didn't make the customer pay the extra $3.00 but instead covered for him.
